Ever since Duke Floyen lost his wife his world was broken to pieces, but his daughter whom he loves the most help him go through it, those small hands that wraps around his finger and those tiny giggles that his daughter made, give him a slight hope that there is still worth living even though his beloved wife is gone. But that happiness was soon taken again when the emperor knew what his weakness was and used it against him. He loves his daughter so he agreed to what the emperor said for the sake of his daughter, he felt defeated and pathetic of himself, he can't do anything. The last thing he love was also taken from him again...

The pain that made his heart ache was unbearable, He tried everything he could to make it go, By using magic, overworking himself, and even trying to kill himself which he did not continue for he imagined what will happen if his daughter lost her father too and it terrified him, his last resort was now is to take a break from all of the paperwork and maybe drink some alcohol to forget about his problems in his life...

When he entered the city he was almost blinded by the lights by how bright they shone. Strolling through the markets looking for a winery he stopped in his tracks as he was mesmerized by the beauty of a woman he saw across the street, he looked at her with glistening eyes and soon the woman turned to see him looking at her, she was slightly flustered and gave the man a small smile before continuing what she was doing. The Duke fell for her.....He thinks, because of how much the woman resembles his deceased wife.

Feeling the gaze of someone looking at me, I tilt my head to see who it was, though what I only saw was a hooded man I still catch a glimpse of his face. It made me flustered by how long he was looking at me, I only gave him a small smile before continuing what I was doing.

After finishing the work that was assigned to me I hurriedly walk home to take some rest. While walking I heard someone calling my name, "Y/N!!!" I look to see who it was and saw Mr.Ludwig, He was obviously drunk, He has a bottle of beer in his hand and was walking wobbly towards me I only sigh knowing that I can't go home in time. "Y/n" he called out to me "Good to see you Mr.Ludwig" I answered with a smile plastered on my face "Why don't *hic* you come inside *hic* and grab a drink?" he asked me but before I could answer he grab my arm immediately and sat me on a chair. The smell of drunk people circled around the place and it was also loud.

I grab the drink that was placed in front of me thinking if I should drink it or not "You better *hic* drink that Y/n" The old man says while chuckling before leaving 'Well it's only one bottle" I said before drinking it.

"Hello, Miss?" I looked to where the sound was coming from and saw the hooded man from earlier, I put the bottle down and replied "Y/n L/n" he soon took the seat beside me and sat there.

After that he did not speak anymore and just continued looking at the girl, the girl also didn't know what to say and just kept drinking the beer 'well this is awkward' she thought to herself taking another drink. "So umm, why were you looking at me earlier?" The girl mentally curse at herself for saying that "Oh, were you uncomfortable Miss Y/n?" he asked and stopped looking at you "No I wasn't, I mean there must be a reason why right?" "Yes" The girl looked at him and asked, "What is it then?"

"I was amazed by how beautiful you were Miss Y/n"

"oh" she simply replied until she process the words that he said in her mind "OH" she looked away blushing like crazy "Just call me Y/n"

And that's how they met.......

Being with the Duke was really tiring, Especially when he made you the Duchess, You always attend Balls, Meetings, Events, and more Balls you just want to take a break, But it was ok since you always have Jubellian by your side, and always cheering you up. What can you do she is just so adorable that you want to smoosh her chubby cheeks!

While waiting for your husband in your room you heard a faint knock on the door and opened it, you saw a sleepy Jubellian hugging her bunny toy next to her while rubbing her eyes "Oh Jubel why are you here" you sigh picking her up bringing her to her room "I heard a loud bang and thought it was the monster so I ran here" she said with a pout on her face, seeing her pout was like heaven she is just so cute but you must comfort her first since she is pretty sad. "That must be the maids making a ruckus downstairs, Jubel" you said while opening the door to her room "I'll tell them to be quiet tomorrow, so for now just sleep Jubel" You tell her reassuring that there are no monsters "No don't lady Y/n, Father will be mad at me even more" Jubel answered stopping me for her father might get mad at her, I looked at her with a grin on my face "No honey, The duke won't In fact he loves you" I said while patting her head and giving her a pecked on her cheeks the little girl just giggled by my action and asked "Does Father really love me?" with a small smile on her face.

"Yes he does" with that she smiled even more brightly at what I said and slept.

While walking towards the door I noticed it is slightly open, I guess Elgis is now in the room. Closing the door behind me I was surprised as I felt an arm in my waist "Where did you go, Darling?" I turned around and looked at him cupping his cheeks and kissing his lips 'WHY IS HE SO FINE!!??'.

"I put Jubel to bed" I told him but then he loosened his grip on my waist and turned around "Is everything fine Elgis?" I asked him since he looked so sad suddenly "Yes, it's just that I can never express my loved for my daughter" he said looking down "Don't worry Elgis, I'm sure Jubellian will understand one day" I hugged him "Thank you so much D/N" he turned to me while kissing my cheeks "It's Y/n Silly" I just smiled at him though behind that smile was a broken one.

"Oh right Y/n, I'm sorry" He said while scratching the back of his head "Your probably tired dear why don't you take some rest?" You told him and gave a small grin "Yes I'm probably tired" with that he changed and went to bed "Aren't you coming Y/n?" He asked me while patting the side of the bed "I still haven't finished reading this book I left earlier, don't worry I'm almost done with it though" I showed him the book "Ok then Goodnight Darling" He said and took off his glasses placing it on the side table "goodnight Elgis I love you..." You replied. Continuing reading the book you sighed feeling a small teardrop on the book 'It's ok Y/n, he is only tired' you reassured yourself.

Before this relationship, Elgis had told you everything about his life and so did you, well not really everything. He told you how he had a wife and passed away and told you that he also has a daughter, but what caught your attention the most is him saying that you look exactly like his deceased wife. It hurts how he said that but since it was the first meeting you didn't care much, its almost 5 years now and he still mistakes you for being D/N, the way he sometimes calls the name of his deceased wife other than yours hurts, though you always tell yourself 'you're fine and he didn't mean it' still makes you cry. You didn't want to leave him since you think it will be selfish of you to do that. But other than that your relationship with Elgis has been amazing through the years you never had a fight with him even once.....

After that mistake he made, he stopped going to your shared bedroom and it worried you so you went to his Office.

You knocked on his door which you thought he didn't hear so you knock again now making sure that he hears it, "Come in" you took a deep breath and opened the door though he is your husband you were still nervous doing this. "Hello, Elgis" you bowed and went towards him sitting in front of him "Hello D/n" there it is again that name you bit your lips preventing yourself from crying "It's Y/n.." you tell him making him look up at you from his work "Sorry Y/n, I'm Just Tired" you just hummed in response "So what brings you here Y/n?" He asked you "I was just gonna ask you if you're fine" you tell him making him look at you "what do you think?" and asked,

"I think you should take a break Elgis" he just groaned "You know I can't or that damned emperor will go wild again, why don't you go read your book rather than bother me here" he says while glaring at you which made you flinch a little bit, Elgis being mad really is not what you want to see but since you care about him a lot you try one last time to convince him to have a break

"Elgis you really sho-" but before you continue he cuts you off "Y/n stop acting like a brat and go already, D/n was not like this when I was with her".

'D/n, D/n, D/N!! Why are you even comparing me to her!!!' That was what you wanted to say but "Yes, I'll go now" is what came out of your mouth, and bowed leaving his office.

You went to your room and that's when your tears burst out, but soon you stopped when you heard a knock on your door "W-who is it?" you asked "It's me Lady Y/n!!" knowing that it is Jubel you opened the door and welcomed her in "Hello Jubel, come in" you smiled at her.

Seeing her sit on the bed you closed the door "Why are you crying Lady Y/n?" you look at her and forget that when you opened the door you didn't even wipe your tears, you quickly wiped it and sat next to her "It was nothing..." but then you started to cry again 'stop crying you idiot' soon the little lady notice and wipe your tears with her small hands you smiled at her and said thank you "You should stop crying Lady, I'll be sad if you don't" you didn't want to see her sad so you stop yourself from crying. It was quiet for a while but then you said "Do you ever wish to see your Mother, Jubel?" It was a dumb question since you know that she obviously will say yes but still asked

"Yes I do..." she answered while looking down "But it's fine now since I have you!!" she happily said you smiled at what she said and hugged her "and I want you to be my mother.." even though she said it quietly you clearly heard what she said and it made you surprised by it "Oh Jubel of course!!" you said making her jump up and down on top of the bed..

It has been a month now, you never visited Elgis anymore in his office since you know that it would be useless. You only spend your time with Jubel playing with her. You were also surprised since he never assigned you to do some paperwork anymore.

You were getting ready for bed when you heard the door being opened you thought it was Jubel so you didn't mind it but it was actually Elgis, You look at him and he has very big eyebags, you hurriedly went to him and leaned for a hug but he stop you "Elgis I was so worried of you!" He just look at you "I have something to tell you Y/n'' he says while rubbing his temple "Ok go ahead" it made you nervous on what he will say next but you just get yourself ready to what will happen next "I want us to have a divorce" he says while looking at you in the eyes, you widen your eyes because of what he said. Why is he saying this all of a sudden!?! "Why Elgis?" you say while taking deep breaths to try calming yourself down

"I was not thinking straight when I first met you and.."

"I think i'm not ready for this yet, I can't stop thinking about D/n so much these past few months" he sighed while looking down on the floor "Wow..." You said and he looked at you confused. "To think that you never really cared about my feelings and only cared for yours is so selfish of you" You tell him not even caring anymore you just want to tell him what you had been holding for years ''You only used me. We've been together for years and you just told me you're not ready yet!!??" You sighed and wiped the tears that had been dripping on your face "why didn't you tell me that when we married? We are almost five years Elgis, FIVE YEARS!!!" you yelled at him angrily "it's always D/n, you never saw me as me but as the Duchess" with that you backed away from him "I-if you really do want a divorce then fine, just give me the papers and I will sign it" he hand you the papers and started to sign it when you finished you quickly pack your things and headed out but he stopped you "You should leave in the morning Y/n" he said while looking at you "It's fine..." you continued to walk out of the door and you said your goodbye to him "I really do love you Elgis, goodbye" you close the door and continued to walk But then you stopped in front of Jubellian's room, you entered it and saw how peaceful Jubel looks like when she is asleep this made your heart ache even more "Goodbye my darling" You kissed her cheeks and stand up "where are you going Mother?" you look at her with teary eyes luckily she couldn't see it since it was dark, the way she says mother makes your heart break into a million pieces "I will leave, but not to worry I will be back" you said even though it was a lie "Ok then Mother have a safe trip and quickly come back!" she happily says "Ok Jubel, Goodnight" with that you closed the door behind you and burst out crying...

It's been 2 months since you left the Household and been continuing doing what you did before when you were a commoner.

I always wait for Mother to come home and this has been the longest trip she had been to. I wonder if she is happy, hopefully she is. I missed her so much that when she gets back I'll play with her and have a tea party!

I should ask Father if Mother will be home soon though..

I knocked on the door of my Fathers office and I guess he didn't hear it so I knocked again "Come in" I heard him! Let's go now..

"Jubellian what is it you need" Father asks at me while I look at him "I was gonna ask you something Father" I told him

"Go on"

"When is Mother Coming home?" he looked at me confused "Mother?" he asked "Yes Mother, When will she come back I miss her already" Father looked at me with widened eyes "Y/n?" Why is father asking silly questions, did he forget Mother already, I thought to myself.

"Yes" I answered him. He just sighed and continued his work again "She is not coming back.." Those words were not what I was expecting The smile that was plastered in my face soon turned into a frown and soon tears were falling in my eyes

"Why is she not coming back, does she not love me anymore?"
