《One-Eighty || Taekook》Chapter 28

Heavy breaths of air left Taehyung's mouth as he was running through the long hallways of Jeon Coorporation. This morning somehow the brown haired boy's alarm didn't wake him up which resulted in him now being 1,5 hours too late for his work. Today the young lawyer was supposed to clean Jungkook's office and the mafia boss will surely be pissed at him not being there on time.
Completely out of breath Taehyung reached the big elevator and quickly pressed the button on the right side of the door. Sure, he was already late and another 10 minutes wouldn't probably make a difference on the shouting he would surely receive from Jungkook but somehow Taehyung kept trying to get to the ravenette's office as fast as possible.
Soon the big door of the elevator opened and the brown haired boy quickly went inside before pressing the button for his destinated floor multiple times. Ofcourse the young lawyer knew that pressing the button multiple times wouldn't actually make the elevator go faster but somehow he always did it whenever he was late. Pressing that button was the only thing Taehyung could influence right now and thus he couldn't help himself.
It felt like forever before the stupid doors of the elevator closed again and Taehyung closed his eyes briefly while he ran his fingers through his hair. He was so damn screwed. Jungkook will probably be pissed as hell by now and a deep sigh left the young lawyer's mouth. It was going so well between the two of them and the mafia boss slowly began to warm up to the brown haired boy. Why did Taehyung always have to screw everything up?
It didn't take long for the elevator to reach it's destination and before Taehyung knew it he was standing in front of the big door which would lead him inside Jungkook's office. The brown haired boy's heart was stammering in his chest and a nervous feeling had spread through his whole body. Jungkook would surely murder him for this mistake.
Slowly Taehyung began to lift his hand in order to knock at the ravenette's door. The brown haired boy's hand was shaking heavily and his sight began to become blurry. Never before had Taehyung felt this nervous and scared at the same time. However before the young lawyer had had the chance to knock at the door loud shouting suddenly sounded through the door.
"Why the fuck did you take him with you in the first place?" The familiar voice of Jin shouted, an angry tone clearly lacing the purple haired boy's voice. Quickly a confused look began to form onto Taehyung's face and his eyes grew big. What the fuck was happening on the other side of the big door? "Don't you see it's destroying him!?" Jin shouted again.

"Ofcourse I fucking see that, I'm not blind!" The familiar voice of Jungkook shouted back, an angry tone also lacing his voice. The ravenette sounded stressed and angry at the same time, a combinition which most of the times meant nothing good. The mafia boss didn't like it when people showed him the results of his own actions.
"What the fuck am I supposed to do?" The ravenette then continued, stress now taking the upper hand in his voice. Taehyung slowly started to feel bad. The brown haired boy had a feeling that he wasn't supposed to overhear this conversation and yet t felt like he was glued to the ground. The young lawyer didn't dare to disturb the two powerfull men on the other side of the door and risk getting a shouting from the both of them. It would probably be better if he would act as if he had just arrived when either one of them would come outside.
"How about you give him his life back huh?" Jin then angrily shouted back at his boss. The boy rarely ever got mad but if he did then you'd better run for your life. The oldest boy knew damn well what he stood for and if he didn't agree with anything one of his friends did then he would surely tell them. "Let him go home Jungkook." The purple haired boy then said in a softer tone.
A deep sigh immediately left the ravenette's mouth and it sounded like he slapped both his hands on his desk. "You know damn well I can't do that." The boy answered his purple haired friend while a defeated tone took over his voice. It sounded like the boy was finally admitting the thing SeokJin was trying to get out of him. "Letting him go will be a risk for all of us."
"But what if he keeps his mouth shut?" Jin then tried to convince the younger boy who immediately shook his head. "The first thing he'll do is run to the cops and expose all of us, we can't take that risk." Jungkook then said, his voice soft and full of emotion. He had fucked up and he knew it damn well. "He knows way too fucking much and you know that as well as I do, before we'll know it the whole building will be surrounded by policemen."
A deep sigh left Jin's mout and he sounded like he was completely done with everything. "Why did you take him with you in the first place Kook?" The purple haired boy asked while a concerned tone was lacing his voice. Jungkook often did things out of emotion instead of using his brains which had resulted in complicated situations more than once. This time it had been no different and while Jin cared for Jungkook a lot he also felt responsible for the other boy they were talking about. Jungkook was slowly killing that boy without realising it himself and Jin wanted the mafia boss to own up to that. He needed to see with his own eyes what the consequences of his actions were or else he would never chance.

"I guess he reminded me of Rosé." The ravenette answered while softly cursing himself. "I wanted him to pay for what she had done to me in order to feel a bit better about the whole situation with my dad." He then continued while softly laughing at the stupidity of his own thoughts. How can you possibly let someone who didn't do anything pay for shit someone else did? Why did he always have to be so damn impulsive in situations like these.
"He's not Rosé Kook." Jin the answered while a warning tone was lacing the purple haired boy's voice. Jin knew damn well how much Jungkook hated his ex-fiance for what she had done. She had broken him completely and being the way Jungkook was, he obviously wanted revenge. However Rosé was hiding somewhere with Sehun and their team still hadn't found them. Jin wouldn't let the younger boy destroy someone completely innocent because of her. The mafia boss should save this anger for the girl herself.
"I know that." Jungkook immediately fired back, catching Jin ofguard. "He's much more pure and innocent than I had first anticipated." He then continued, his voice lacing with a guilty tone. "Way more than she ever was."
"I can't let him go Jin, but I can try my best to make his time with us more bearable." The mafia boss then spoke, determination lacing his voice. Meanwhile Taehyung was still listening to everything the two boys were saying to each other. The brown haired boy wasn't crazy, the both of them were clearly talking about him.
A sad yet happy feeling had formed inside the brown haired boy's chest upon listening to everything these two powerfull men were saying. Sad because he was now sure he wouldn't ever see his family or friends again. Jungkook had been very clear when he had said that he couldn't let Taehyung go. However a happy feeling was also present because of the fact that Jungkook had said that he would try to make his time here more bearable. Ofcourse the young lawyer had no idea what the mafia boss had meant by that but those words alone gave him hope. Hope for a beter future.
"Let's start there." Jin then answered his boss before heavy footsteps started to sound through the office. Quickly the sound came closer and closer towards the door where Taehyung was hiding behind and in a solit second the boy decided to ran back towards the elevator before acting as if he had just come out of it.
Jin was quick to open the heavy door of Jungkook's office and a shocked look quickly became visible on his face upon noticing Taehyung walking towards the same office he was exiting. "Hey Tae, how long have you been standing there?" The purple haired boy asked his brown haired friend while trying to sound as neutral as possible.
"I just arrived since my alarm didn't wake me up this morning." The brown haired boy partly lied, a guilty feeling slowly forming inside him. If he would tell Jin the truth both of them would feel bad and thus it was better to lie to Jin this once.
"Ahh okay." The purple haired boy answered back, relieve clearly hearable in his voice. The boy quickly excused himself before entering the elevator and dissapearing out of Taehyung's sight. The young lawyer took a deep breath before pushing the door to Jungkook's office open and entering.
"I'm sorry I overslept!" Taehyung immediately apologised as soon as he stepped inside the office. A confused Jungkook slowly turned around before a small smile began to form onto the boy's face. "It's okay." He answered before taking his car keys from his desk and looking at Taehyung with excitement in his eyes. "Are you ready to go?" The ravenette then asked, a friendly smile decorating his face. Taehyung looked at the boy with a confused look but nodded nonetheless.
