《One-Eighty || Taekook》Chapter 19

A tense feeling rushed through Taehyung's body as soon as he heard the familiar ding of the elevator reach the floor he was currently standing on. It was currently 08.30 and even though he would arrivr a bit early the brown haired boy had decided to go towards Jungkook's office. The young lawyer had figured that it would be beter to arrive 25 minutes early than to be even a minute too late. Jungkook had proven himself to be dangerous and hot headed multiple times and if Taehyung wanted to live a bit longer it would be best if he didn't get on the ravenette's wrong side.
As soon as the big doors of the elevator opened Taehyung quickly got in and immediately pressed the button for the floor he had to go to. Nervously the brown haired boy started to straighten the black blouse he was wearing. He was wearing the clothes Jungkook had given him yesterday, a black blouse with black jeans. It was very simple and even though Taehyung would have never decided to wear this if he had been able to pick out his own clothes he liked the fact that the mafia boss had provided him with clean clothes. Yesterday he had walked around wearing the suit he had been wearing during Jungkook's trial. Ofcourse it had been all dusty and dirty after the ravenette's team had blown up an entire wall so the fact that last night he had been able to take a shower and wear some fresh sweatpants and a loose shirt to bed had been pretty nice.
Soon the elevator started to move and the nervousness in Taehyung's chest slightly increased. He didn't like Jungkook, even though the boy was younger than him he scared the crap out of the young lawyer. A soft sigh left the brown haired boy's mouth and he slowly looked down. He should have never taken that damn case. He should have ran away the moment Jackson told him his client's name.
After a few minutes the familiar ding sounded through the elevator again, indicating Taehyung had reached his destination. Quickly the brown haired boy got out of the cold room and walked towards a big black door which was situated right in front of him. After saying a few words of encouragement towards himself Taehyung raised his hand and knocked softly on the big door.
Almost immediately after knocking a soft 'come in' could be heard and the brown haired boy's heart rate increased a bit due to the nervousness rushing through his body. Taehyung quickly took a deep breath before grabbing the silver handle of the door and pushing it down in order to open it.
The room Taehyung walked in was huge. Windows were completely covering the outside walls the room and a big wooded table with 8 chairs surrounding it was standing on the right side of the room. Big bookshelves were situated on the right side of the room and right next to them was a big brown desk standing with a certain raven haired boy sitting behind it.
Jungkook wasn't paying attention to Taehyung at all. The ravenette was busily typing something on his computer and a serious look could be seen on his face. Not exactly knowing what to do Taehyung was still awkwardly standing in the door opening. The office of the ravenette was huge, a whole meeting area, working area and even a small sitting area could be found inside it and slowly Taehyung's eyes became a bit bigger. This room was bigger than his whole apartment.

"Ahh you're here, hurry up and make me some coffee." Jungkook said as soon as he finally aknowledged Taehyung's presence. The ravenette quickly looked up from whatever he was doing on that computer of his but soon continued working. Immediately Taehyung's eyes began to dart around looking for a coffee machine and a sigh of relief left his mouth as soon as he spotted it standing near the sitting area. He couldn't fuck up like he had done yesterday. The brown haired boy had been lucky Jungkook had only gotten mad at him last night, god only knew what the ravenette would do when he failed to do what the mafia boss told him to this time.
Soon the brown haired boy was standing directly in front of the coffeemachine began to prepare exactly what it was that Jungkook had asked him to make. A disgusted look made it's way onto the young lawyer's face as soon as the strong smell of coffee hit Taehyung's face. The boy had never been someone who liked coffee, the bitter taste of the dark brown liquid was absolutely disgusting to him. To this day it would remain a mystery to Taehyung as to why so many people willingly drank something as disgusting as coffee. The only coffee the brown haired boy liked was if he added loads of sugar and milk to make the bitter taste of coffee somewhat go away.
As soon as the machine was done with preparing a hot steaming cup of coffee the brown haired boy carefully picked it up and began to silently curse as soon as the warmth of it burned his fingers slightly. Quickly the young lawyer walked towards where Jungkook was sitting while softly biting his lip in order to not scream at the fact that this damn liquid was so hot. Surely the mafia boss wouldn't appreciate it if he decided to randomly scream his lungs out right?
As soon as Taehyung reached the desk Jungkook was sitting at he hastely placed the cup of coffee on it and started to shake his hand a bit in order for it to cool down a bit. He slowly looked at his fingers only to notice that they were completely red. A soft sigh left the brown haired boy's mouth and he softly closed his eyes. His fingers would hurt like hell for at least a few days and that was only if Jungkook didn't force him to get him more cups of coffee.
"Next time you should use a tray, that way you won't burn your fingers like you've done just now." The ravenette suddenly said without looking up from his computer screen. Taehyung quickly opened his eyes again while a confused look formed onto his face. How the hell did the other boy notice that he had burned his finger, he wasn't even looking at him.
"O-okay, thanks for the advice." Taehyung softly answered while looking down, afraid Jungkook would look up and make eye contact with him. He had no idea what the raven haired boy had for him in mind today and thus he was pretty nervous. What if it was something bad? What of it was something against Taehyung's will?
Soon the ravenette softly sighed and turned of his computer. The raven haired boy slowly stood up before indeed looking directly at Taehyung. "Today you'll be serving me and my closest men during a meeting." The mafia boss said before walking towards the front of his desk and leaning against it. Jungkook was wearing some plain black jeans and a simple white blouse and yet he gave of an extremely dominat vibe. Someone who had never met the boy before only needed to take one look at him to figure out he was the one in charge around here.

"The only thing I want you to do is to keep silent and give them some coffee." The ravenette said while folding his arms in front of his chest. A serious look suddenly crossed his face and he slowly leaned closer towards the brown haired boy standing in front of him. Immediately Taehyung's heart rate began to speed up again to the point where he could feel it beating rapidly. Nervousness quickly infiltrated his whole body again and a dizzy feeling began to overtake him.
"If you fail to do so and fuck shit up again I'll hurt you so bad you'll beg me to kill you." The ravenette whispered inside Taehyung's ear dangerously low while a sadistic smirk was visible on his face. Chills immediately ran down the brown haired boy's spine and his face turned completely pale. He could clearly tell the mafia boss wasn't joking. Jungkook wasn't the type to joke around.
Soon however a loud knock could be heard throughout the room and slowly Jungkook leaned back again before saying 'come in'. Immediately after the mafia boss was done talking Jimin and Yoongi walked into the room with 4 other boys closely behind them. Taehyung immediately recognised all of them as the ones who had been inside the helicopter.
"Good morning sunshines!" The red haired boy named Hoseok exclaimed while putting an arm around the neck of his boyfriend. A small smile made it's way onto Taemin's face and he leaned a bit closer to his boyfriend's side.
"Shut the fuck up, it's way too early to be this happy." Yoongi groaned as soon as the happy and cheery voice of Hoseok sounded through Jungkook's office. A big yawn immediately left the grey haired boy's mouth as soon as he was done talking. A small giggle left Jimin's mouth upon hearing what his boyfriend said and he put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Such a morning person you are babe." The blonde boy teased his boyfriend before shifting his eyes towards the other persons standing in the room.
"Tae, what are you doing here?" Jimin said as soon as he noticed the brown haired boy standing next to his boss. A confused look quickly began to form on the pretty boy's face and he slowly tilted his head a bit to the side. A nervous feeling immediately began to rise inside the brown haired boy's chest again as soon as Jimin had asked him something. Jungkook had told him to stay silent and thus he had no idea if he was allowed to speak or not.
A concerned look immediately began to form on the blonde's face as soon as the boy noticed Taehyung wasn't going to answer him anytime soon. "TaeTae what's wrong?" The boy asked before walking up to the young lawyer and beginning to check him upon any visible injuries.
"He's fine, I changed his job into being my personal assistant, which is exactly the reason why he is here now." Jungkook spoke, a small smirk still visible on his face. A confused look immediately began to form on the blonde boy's face as soon as those words had left the ravenette's mouth. "Why, I thought we agreed that he would become a cleaner?" Jimin asked, curiousity lacing his voice. Quickly the blonde boy took Taehyung's hand in his own and squeezed it softly. A small smile formed onto the young lawyer's face, even though Jimin had betrayed him badly he was still his friend and the blonde did everything to make sure Taehyung knew that fact.
"Have you looked at him?" The mafia boss said before straightening his white blouse. "Pretty face, small waist, innocent eyes, plump lips and a big ass." Jungkook spoke before slowly walking towards Jimin and Taehyung. The boy slowly began to look directly into Jimin's eyes, a daring look visible on his face. "Care to tell me why you think he wouldn't cause any trouble walking around without someone next to him?" The mafia boss said, a small smirk visible on his face. "That would be like throwing a little lamb inside the lion's den, he wouldn't stand a chance." Jungkook finished before walking toward where the others were seated.
Jimin swallowed thickly before deciding not answer his boss. He knew Jungkook was right. Taehyung was a way too easy prey, completely innocent and defenseless. In no time people would find out his routine and notice he was just a simple cleaner who meant little to nothing to the company. It would only be a matter of time before people started to throw perverted comments his way. It would only be a matter of time before someone would cross the line and traumatise the boy for the rest of his life.
However something just didn't sit right with the blonde boy. Why did Jungkook care? Why not feed him to the wolves now when yesterday he literally wanted to put him inside one of his brothels? What changed in such a short amount of time?
"Why?" The blonde asked before turning towards his boss. A questioning look completely covering his face. Jungkook wasn't the type to help someone, he only cared about what was best for the bussiness. Hell, the boy grew up inside this world, he was raised to be like that.
A small genuine smile briefly appeared on the ravenette's face and he slowly turned around again towards Jimin and Taehyung. The boy briefly locked eyes with Taehyung. A genuine caring look was covering the mafia boss' face, however the boy soon turned around again before softly saying

The American Dream: An Alternate, Time-Travel Timeline
Due to a mysterious transcendent being, United States Marine Corps First Lieutenant Samuel Kim from the year 2016 is thrown back in time to the year 1775. To make matters worse, he wakes up near Bunker Hill, mere hours before the famed Battle of Bunker Hill is set to begin. Realizing the unique situation he finds himself in, the lieutenant takes the opportunity to change the fate of the battle and ensure an overwhelming American victory. Guided by his "patronizing" "God" and the American revolutionaries, Lieutenant Kim embarks on a journey to help America gain its independence and to ensure the nation uphold its "most promising" ideals from the very beginning. Author's Warning: The story is very rough in the first few chapters (and as some readers pointed out, some parts are laughable, such as "American idealism"). However, the pace and quality of the story improves from chapter four and onwards. You will enjoy the story if you have some interest in history, worldbuilding, and the butterfly effect (along with a few badass characters). So even if you are a bit turned off in the beginning, I promise that the story improves quickly.

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
