《One-Eighty || Taekook》Chapter 3

Taehyung took a deep breath as he walked through the big heavy doors of the countries biggest prison. Today would be the day he finally got to meet his new client and while he would love to blame the fact that his heart was beating more rapidly in his chest than normal due to the fact that he was excited he knew a huge part of it was also fear. Last night the young lawyer dreamt that he had lost the case, no matter how hard he tried he had lost completely. Of course Jungkook hadn't been happy with this which resulted in the prisoner ordering his man on the outside to kill Taehyung for it.
This morning Taehyung had woken up completely drenched in sweat and with a abnormally high heart rate. The young lawyer had taken a quick shower to wash of all his sweat and tried to forget what had happened that night but the thought of the nightmare alone made him clench his bag the whole way to prison while fearing his upcoming meeting with Jungkook.
There were multiple prisons within the country, this one being the one with the highest security and biggest criminals, criminals who were considered a big risk to humanity and their country. Knowing that Taehyung's client was considered as a big risk to society didn't help the young lawyer and his nerves at all, it made them worse to be honest.
The lobby of the prison looked pretty normal to Taehyung. In a way you could even see some similarities with Wang inc. It was big and filled with chairs, a small reception desk at one of the corners of the room. Taehyung slowly walked up to the receptionist while he could only hope she would be as friendly as Lisa.
The moment the receptionist noticed the young lawyer a small smile fell on her face. "What can I do for you?" A friendly tone lacing her voice.
Taehyung let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He put down his bag and looked at the woman who had just spoken to him. The woman behind the counter seemed a bit older than Taehyung himself, but still not too old to be considered middle aged. She had brown hair, blue eyes and looked way too sweet to work in a prison. "I'm here to see Jeon Jungkook, I'm his lawyer"
the young woman smiled and nodded. "I'll make a call to get him to the visitors area, if you walk through the black doors on your right you will enter the security room. They will shortly check if you carry any suspicious items on your body or in your bag and after that one of the guards will take you to the visitors room."
Taehyung nodded, picked up his bag and made his way to the black doors. Each step the brown haired boy took felt heavier than the step before. Within a few minutes he would be sitting face to face with one of the biggest criminals of the country, a man who had probably murdered and tortured a lot of people just for fun.

The brown haired boy didn't notice he was clenching the handle of his bag again until he started to feel his own nails dig painfully into the skin of his palm. The young lawyer quickly let out a huge breath and walked further to the doors, it was now or never.
Reaching the doors sooner than Taehyung had expected, he pushed them open. The boy immediately being faced with a completely different room than the one that he had came out of. The place looked like the security check at an airport. On his left and right assembly lines to check any luggage which would be brought into the prison, gates to check if people carried something on their bodies, and multiple guards surrounding the room to make sure everyone followed these rules as being told.
Taehyung walked over to the assembly line and put his bag in a dull grey trey. The only things in his bag where some papers he needed in order to discuss Jungkook's case with him and a pen to take some notes, nothing really special now that he thought about it. All things he hoped to help him get some information from his client which would prove Jungkook's innocence in some of the things the man was being accused of.
The young lawyer watched his bag go through the scan and saw a guard checking on a screen to see if he brought anything which he wasn't allowed to. Being pretty sure he didn't Taehyung walked to the gate to get scanned himself.
"Please stand in the middle of the gate and hold your hands up like this" The security guard behind the gate told the brown haired boy as he demonstrated the position by holding up both his hands in the air. Taehyung copied the guards pose and smiled when a green light came up a few seconds later. Even though he knew he didn't carry anything he couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. What would have happened if he accidentally carried a pocket knife or something? Not that he even owned one in the first place, but you never know what kinds of stuff magically appeared in your pockets when you have to go through a security check in a high risk prison.
"Please come out of the gate and stand before me." The guard behind the gate asked Taehyung, his tone low and demanding. Following his instructions Taehyung stepped out of the gate and stood before the man who had talked to him a few seconds ago. The man was way taller than Taehyung and had intimidating brown eyes. If Taehyung were asked to describe the man it would definitely be something like 'do not mess with him if you value your life.'
"Is it okay if I search you for any forbidden items?" The intimidating man questioned the young lawyer and Taehyung instantly nodded, it's not like he had a choice anyway. What would the man have done if Taehyung had said no? Definitely not let Taehyung inside the prison, the place where he needed to be right now.
"Please spread your arms and legs so I can properly search you" The guard demanded, his voice still low and laced with a slight tone of anger. The brown haired boy followed the order immediately, not even trying to ignore it.

Not much later Taehyung felt the tall man begin to touch his arms and torso, the young lawyer not being able to become a little nervous. After the guard would be done searching him he would bring him to Jungkook, the man he was excited, yet scared to meet. How would the dangerous mafia boss react to him being his lawyer? Wouldn't he think Taehyung was too young to be a good lawyer? Would he murder him if Taehyung lost the case? Way too many questions started to run through his head, making him completely oblivious to the body search the guard was performing on him.
"You are done, you can go and collect your bag now." the guard shook the brown haired boy out of his thoughts and pointed to the assembly line. On it was his bag waiting for him to come and collect it. "After you have collected your bag you can follow me, I will bring you to the visitors room" the tall man said and Taehyung gave the intimidating guard a small smile and nodded before he walked over towards the assembly line. He picked up his bag and made sure to hold it firmly in his grasp. If he lost his bag this visit would be worthless, he wasn't here to drink coffee and become friends with Jungkook, he was here to discuss the prisoner's case and without the papers inside his bag he would be unable to do so.
After Taehyung had picked up his bag the brown haired boy made his way back to the security guard, following him when the tall man started to walk towards a big glass door on his right. The demanding man took big steps through the room, resulting in Taehyung having to speed walk after him. Embarrassment took over Taehyung's body and he felt like he looked like an idiot following the big man. Almost like a child running after his father. Did he really have to walk that fast?
Soon The young lawyer walked through the big glass doors, not a minute later standing in front of an elevator. He had been in countless of elevators in his life, the most recent one being the one back at Wang inc. but this elevator had to be the biggest one he has ever seen. The metal cabin had huge silver doors that looked bullet proof, the number of the floor the elevator was currently on displayed above it. Multiple numbers displaying before Taehyung's eyes while the elevator made his way downstairs.
The sudden realisation that once he would step inside the metal cabin there was no going back suddenly overwelmed Taehyung. He was going to meet his new client and he wouldn't be able to run away from it anymore. He would meet Jeon Jungkook and nothing would be able to stop him now.
Soon the big silver doors of the elevator opened, the security guard and Taehyung both getting on instantly. The young lawyer watched as the big male next to him pressed the button for the sixth floor, followed by him impatiently pressing the button for the doors to close multiple times. After a few seconds they finally closed and the elevator started moving up.
Taehyung smiled to himself at the little action the man had just performed, his little brother used to do the exact same thing back in Daegu. The boy hated waiting and believed that pressing the button multiple times would make the elevator close the doors faster. This man seemed to think the same thing even though Taehyung knew it wouldn't help at all.
While going up the floors of the prison Taehyung couldn't help but let his mind wonder towards his little brother. The kid's ten years younger than him and someone very special in his life. Being an only kid for ten years Taehyung had always wanted to have a little brother of sister. His parents never had time for another baby though, both of them were way too busy with the farm. To this day he still didn't know what had changed their minds that particular day but he had always been grateful for it. Jihun had been the most precious gift they had given him and he loved every single moment he had been able to spent with his little brother ever since.
Taehyung smiled at the memories of his little brother. The boy meant the world to Taehyung and had made the decision to leave his life in Daegu behind and start a new one in Seoul so much harder.
Suddenly a small ding indicated that the elevator had reached the sixth floor. The big silver doors opened and both the security guard and Taehyung quickly got off.
"Please follow me" The intimidating male spoke while he started to walk to a certain direction on his left.
Not wanting to get lost Taehyung began to speed walk behind him. Both of them Soon reaching another big metal door with a sign which read 'visitors room' above it.
The tall man gave Taehyung a short look before he motioned towards the door. "Please go through this door, the inmate you're here to visit is already in the room. Another guard will watch the two of you inside."
Taehyung clenched his fingers around the handle of his bag, his nails once again digging painfully inside his palms. His heart started to hammer in his chest while a nervous feeling started to rush through his body. His blood slowly draining from his face while his hands became sweaty and cold chills started to run on his back.
Taehyung softly shook his head, trying to get rid of the nervousness and took a deep breath. There was no going back now, a great lawyer would never back down from a case, especially not when he was so close to meeting his client for the first time.
The brown haired boy let the air escape his lungs again and reached for the door handle.
