《The Fading Sunshine》Chapter 23

**Kageyama's POV
I finally made it to the gym and I stopped for a minute to catch my breath. I made my way up the stairs to the club room and walked in. The team was huddled in a circle waiting for me to arrive and explain what I saw.
I sat down and collected my thoughts. "Kageyama, what did you call us here for?" Suga asked.
"Well ummm... Daichi already knows this but I went to Hinata's house check in on him. So, I ran to his house and knocked on the door. His dad answered and said he wasn't feeling well and wasn't taking visitors because he didn't want to get anyone else sick. But something seemed off so I told him I wasn't leaving until I saw Hinata. He resisted at first but he eventually gave in and said he would go get him. When Hinata came to the door he was... pale and looked dead on the inside. I tried asking what's wrong but he just told me that he didn't feel well and didn't want to see anyone, because he didn't know if what he had was contagious or not."
"That's almost word for word what his dad said isn't it?" Asahi asked.
"My point exactly." I said. "But anyways after that I kept asking him if he was okay and what was going on and he got upset. Like, upset to the point that he screamed at me." I said.
"What did he yell at you?" Daichi asked.
"Kageyama! I told you, I'm sick! So go, I don't want you here!" I quoted. "Then he stood up and walked to the stairs, but he was limping. I'm not even to the awful part yet though. When Hinata walked away he forgot to shut the door and when I looked in I saw someone walk out from the kitchen. As I watched I realized... It was Koki. I don't know why he's there but he is. He came over to the door and grinned at me and then closed the door in my face." I said. I was shaking. I was so angry at Koki, at Hinata's dad. How could they do this to him?
"Wait, wait... Koki was in Hinata's house? Yamaguchi asked.
"Yes..." I told him.
"Wait guys..." Tsukishima said. "What if Hinata left the door open on purpose, so you would see Koki. I know it's a long shot, but he could've been trying to signal that he was in danger in that house. If Koki's there, Hinata's in danger." Tsuki said.

He had a point. Hinata was definitely in danger in that house as long as Koki was there. And it's very possible that he left the door open on purpose.
"Daichi, can we call the police now? Is this enough to accuse him of abuse or child endangerment or something?" I asked. It had to be.
"Why don't me and you go back up there, I'll see for myself. Then yes, if all of this is accurate we can call the cops." Daichi said. "But i'm not running all the way there, we'll take my car." Daichi said as he grabbed his keys.
***Hinata's POV
Since dad had revealed that Koki was back, dad and Koki had made another deal. And Koki made sure to get his money worth this time. He'd been assaulting me since early this morning. My whole body hurt and I was starving. My dad refused to feed me for some reason. But in between sessions with Koki my dad would beat me, just to be sure I didn't have to energy to get away. But he didn't do any damage to my face because, "We can't have anyone taking away the outlet for our rage." He didn't want anyone to drop by and see my bruises, so he focused the beatings on my abdomen and legs.
During one of my dads sessions, Koki called up the stairs, "Theres someone at the door."
"Alright, I'll be down in a minute..." Dad called back. He picked me up my the back of my shirt and dropped me in the bathroom and locked the door.
I didn't even bother trying to move. My whole body ached. I only laid in the floor for a minute or two before dad came back and grabbed me by my shoulders.
"Your dumbass friend is here to check on you. He wants to see you so you're going to go down there and tell him your sick and don't want to see anyone because you don't know if what you have is contagious or not. Then you will tell him to leave because you don't want to see him. If you don't do exactly what I said, I'll hurt him next." He said with cold eyes.
My heart stopped. As much as I wanted out of this hell, I couldn't let him hurt Kageyama. He dragged me down the stairs and to the door. I opened the door back up and saw Kageyama staring at me. "Hinata.. What happened to you??" He asked. I wanted to tell him what was going on. I wanted to leave this hell. But I can't risk him getting hurt.

"I don't feel well, so I stayed home. I don't want to see anyone though. I don't want anyone else to get sick." I said.
"That's what your dad told me. Actually that's exactly what he told me... I do believe that you don't feel well, but I don't think it's contagious.. is it?" He said.
Was he seeing through my act? He can't be here much longer, it might upset dad. "Please... just go..." I said. I felt tears threatened to come to my eyes but I held them back.
"NO! I'm not leaving until I know you're okay!" He yelled.
"KAGEYAMA! I TOLD YOU, I'M SICK! SO GO, I DONT WANT YOU HERE!" I screamed. I didn't know what else to do. Maybe if I pissed him off he would leave.
"Fine... But I know somethings going on, and I will figure out what it is.." He said. I turned my head and said, "Please... Just drop it.." I paused for a minute. Koki was in the kitchen. He's heard all of this. Maybe he'll reveal himself if I walked away like I shut the door, if he thought it was safe to come out. I turned and walked away leaving the door wide open and walked up the stairs, praying my plan would work. Praying that Kageyama would recognize Koki and know something is horribly wrong.
I hear the door shut and I continued walking up the stairs and heard footsteps coming up after me. I was grabbed my my collar and dragged into my dads room.
My dad was already in his room when Koki opened the door and threw me inside. I laid on the floor motionless, I was too exhausted to move right now.
"Why the hell is he in here? It's your turn with him right now." My dad said as he looked at me in disgust.
"The bastard left the door open and that dumbass friend of his saw me. What if he recognized me?" Koki said. I could sense the slight panic in his voice.
"What the hell! HINATA WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" He said as he picked me up by the front of my shirt. I hung limply in his hold. I didn't care anymore. I hope he kills me. I don't want to be alive anymore. This is all to exhausting.
"I guess i'll have to teach you a lesson..." He grunted.
I dragged me down the stairs and into the living room. He threw me onto the ground and kicked me in the stomach. "WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU LET YOUR FRIEND SEE KOKI AFTER I THREATENED TO HURT HIM?? DO YOU WANT ME TO KILL HIM?? IS THAT WHAT IT IS??"
Suddenly, a burst of adrenaline ran through my body. I slowly stood up. "Don't you lay a fucking finger on him.." I said softly. Dad stared me down and lunged towards me. I signed and escaped through the door and ran into the yard. We didn't have any neighbors within a quarter mile, so they won't be able to help or hear me... But it was worth a chance.
"YOU BASTARD!! I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN RID OF YOU WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE!! IT SHOULD'VE BEEN YOU WHO DIED IN THAT CAR CRASH!!" He yelled as he made his way from the porch to me.
"YOU THINK I WANTED THIS?? I WISH I WOULD'VE DIED IN THAT CAR CRASH TOO. EVERYONE WOULD BE BETTER OFF WITHOUT ME... ALL I DO IS FUCK EVERYTHING UP!" I screamed back.
"THEN WHY DONT YOU JUST KILL YOURSELF YOU USELESS PIECE OF SHIT?!" He yelled, I could tell he was being deadly serious to.
"YOU THINK I DONT WANT TO!? BECAUSE I DO! I THINK EVERYDAY THAT THINGS WILL GET BETTER, IF I JUST HOLD ON ONE MORE DAY EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE!! BUT MY LIFE IS SHIT! I WISH I WOULD'VE KILLED MYSELF A LONG TOME AGO!! WHY DONT YOU JUST GO AHEAD AND FINISH THE JOD YOU COWARD?!" I screamed at him.
"If that's what you want.." He said and he ran towards me and tackled me. He punched me in the face many times and kicked me on my side and head. "If you really want to die so bad.. Why don't we just fix that little problem right now?" He muttered as he hit me once again over the head.
That's the last thing I remember before I blacked out.

Then he met Palazar, the vampire, who showed him salvation, and turned him into a vampire. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Hello there. This is my second series, also about vampires. I've always been fascinated with vampires, since childhood, so I decided to write a few different, unique books about them. My first book, Rise of the Vampires is about just that, and how the progenitor rises to power in a world of mixed High Fantasy, and Xianxia. This book however, is different, again. This is more traditional, in the sense that it isn't high fantasy, but closer to low fantasy. It begins in a time period similar to Ancient Greece, but it will travel through time, showing various ages. The vampire world will be similar to the World of Darkness, or Vampire the Masquerade. It's not a female romance book, as it will have action and stuff. But yeah, the books will follow Parmasus as he lives through the ages, becoming older and stronger. Also Rated 18+ for violence, gore, harsh language, explicit sex, etc.
