《The Fading Sunshine》Chapter 18

**Hinata's POV
Kageyama and I stayed in each other's company for awhile. He held and comforted me and we laid down and rested for most of the day.
When I woke up Kageyama was gone and had left me a note.
"The team finished their games. I went to go get food but didn't want to wake you. Don't leave the room, i'll bring food up to the room for you."
I heard a ding from my phone. When I checked it I saw I had a message. It was from Koki. My stomach dropped at the sight of his name. Why does he keep bothering me. Has he not had enough already?
I opened the message. "I know your in your team room right now. Come out without any problems and I won't hurt that black haired boy you care for so much." I stared at the screen not knowing what I should do. What if he was serious and would actually hurt Kageyama. I wouldn't put it past him.
I slowly get out of bed and walked across the room to the door. I looked through the peep hole and saw Koki standing directly across from our room. He was leaning against Aoba Johsai's door. Maybe someone could come help me. I opened me phone to call someone but paused. Who could I call that would be stronger than Koki? I looked at my screen as the panic settled in. I can't just wait in here like a sitting duck. What if he breaks in and hurts me?
I called Kageyama, not knowing who else to call. He was stronger than he looked and I'll bet he'll bring someone to help out. I quickly punched in his number and pressed dial.
"Hinata? What's wrong, are you okay?" He asked.

"Kageyama... Koki's outside of the door... He texted me and told me to come out or he was going to hurt you. What do I do?" I asked as I started to cry.
"Keep quiet and stay put. I'm on my way with Kuroo." Kageyama said in a jittery tone.
"I CAN HEAR YOU IN THERE YOU LITTLE SHIT!! COME OUT BEFORE YOU REGRET IT!!" Koki screamed from outside the door.
"Please hurry." I said in between sobs.
** Kageyamas POV
"Please hurry." Hinata said as he started to cry.
I'm gonna kick this guys ass. If he was going to hurt Hinata he'd have to go through me first.
"Stay on the phone, we're on the elevator right now. We're almost to you." I said, trying to calm him down.
"So what's the plan when we face Koki? From what i've heard about him, he's a force to be reckoned with. We can't just go in without a plan." Kuroo pointed out.
"We need to go at him together. I've heard the same things you have, i'm aware of what he's capable of. But I don't care about myself, I just need to protect Hinata." I told him.
"Kageyama, where are you?!" I heard Hinata cry out from the other end of the call.
"Hinata, we're almost to the third floor. We're coming, I promise!" I told him. I kept the online close my my ear so I could hear what was going on on his end of the phone.
The elevator door opened and as I stepped out I heard a crash and a scream from Hinata's end of the call. "HINATA?" I yelled, but there was no answer. "SHIT, KUROO WE HAVE TO HURRY!!" I yelled at him as we sprinted down the hall and to the room.

When we rounded the corner to the room, I saw that the door was knocked down. I looked in and saw Koki pinning Hinata against the wall by his neck. Hinata was scratching at his hands gasping for air. We made eye contact and his eyes were filled with fear. Kuroo ran in seconds after me and ran towards the two of them. He tried to pull Koki off but he wasn't strong enough.
"Kageyama... Come help... Me..." Kuroo grunted. I ran over and tears started to pool in my eyes. I watched Hinatas eyes roll back and his head fall to the side. My reflexes kicked in and I hit Koki hard on the side of his head. Both he and Hinata collapsed to the floor. Kuroo immediately put Koki's hands behind his back and pinned him on the wall.
I dropped to Hinata's side and froze as I realized I had no idea how to help him.
"CALL AN AMBULANCE!" Kuroo shouted. I reached for me phone and called 119. I explained the situation in a shaky voice. The operator said they were 7 minutes away.
It was the longest 7 minutes of my life. 7 minutes of not being able to help Hinata. 7 minutes of trying not to murder Koki for what he did. 7 minutes of agony waiting for the paramedics and police to get here.
When they arrived they arrested Koki and took Hinata away on a gurney. I rode with him to the hospital and Kuroo followed us in a cab. When we arrived at the hospital, Hinata was rushed to a room and connected to a bunch of tubes and IV's.
"When they finish hooking him up to everything you're more than welcome to sit with him in the room." One of the doctors said as she left Hinata's room.
As soon as all of the doctors exited his room I rushed in and sat in a charlie next to his bed. I studied every inch of his face. Tears started to fall down my face. I sobbed as I held his hand.
"I broke my promise... I told you I wouldn't let him hurt you... I'm so sorry... " I said as my voice quivered.
It wasn't long until Kuroo arrived and checked in. He rushed into the room. "How is he?" He asked.
"The doctors said that he had a lot of brain damage from the lack of oxygen and they just have to keep an eye on his condition." I explained with weakness in my voice. "W-what if... He doesn't wake up?" I asked as a new wave of tears came over me.
Kuroo did nothing but pull me into his arms. I cried out into his chest. I dont know what I would do if he didn't come to. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
"I called Daichi and explained what happened on the way over here. He's on his way with Suga." Kuroo said.
"Good, the doctors said something about how if he wakes up needing a support system because he will most likely deal with PTSD." I said solemnly.
"When he wakes up." Kuroo said.
"What?" I asked
"When he wakes up. You said if he wakes up, but there is no if. He will." Kuroo said quietly.

Understanding a cultivation world
A modern man armed with having read a few novels about cultivation is suddenly transmigrated to a cultivation world. He fights to both survive and thrive in this new archaic world full of arrogant young masters, demonic sects, and incredibly hostile wildlife. Note: In this story, I wanted to focus a lot more on what most novels skim past in regards to cultivation, namely the whole, spiritual growth aspect that seems to be entirely absent from the prosses of obtaining enlightenment the majority of the time, but the method of gaining cultivation. how it works, and what kind of world would develop around it are all things I wish to explore in this novel.

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM
