My heart jumped. He was just standing there looking at me. I immediately hung up the call with me and Hyunjin.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to come down and watch a movie with me and your mother?" He asked casually

I pushed the bear away from me and sat up on my bed.

«u-uhm yeah, sure" I stuttered

There's no way he didn't hear me and Hyunjin's conversation. No way.

He seemed normal, as if he didn't hear anything, but I wasn't convinced. Not in the slightest bit.

"Sweet! What do you want to watch?" He asked

"You can choose" I muttered

"Alright, I'll go down and pop up some popcorn!" He said happily before going back down the stairs.

My heart was beating so hard.

I called Hyunjin back right away to tell him about what just happened. I wasn't looking forward to telling him, cause I was sure he'd be even more scared than me.

"Hyunjin" I said

"Hi, why'd you hang up?" He asked

"My dad" I paused -"He was at the door"

Hyunjin went quiet for a second

"Did he.."

"I don't know" I replied, not even having to hear the rest of his sentence.

"Shit" he mumbled

"Yeah"

I knew I should go downstairs so that my parents wouldn't suspect anything, but that was the thing I wanted to do the least right now.

What if my dad would say something about it? What if he heard everything, and just pretended that he didn't.

I did not want to out me and Hyunjin's relationship without him being ready. I knew how badly it'd stress him out. I prayed that my dad somehow didn't hear shit of what any of us said.

"I have to go and watch a movie with my parents" I explained

"Oh, ok" he responded

The setting was awkward. I could tell he was scared. I was as well.

"Let's just pray he didn't hear anything alright?" I said

"Yeah"

"Bye"

"Bye"

My heart was beating so fast. I got up from bed and started walking towards the staircase. A whiff of popcorn hit me.

I was walking pretty slow down the stairs at first, but then I noticed how loud the creaks were. I figured it'd be smarter to walk in a normal pace.

"Oh, hi Felix!" My mom exclaimed

"Hi" I responded normally

She was sitting in the sofa, pouring Fanta into our glasses.

"Popcorn is ready!" My dad said happily, jogging towards the sofa holding the huge bowl.

I sat down at the big and soft chair next to the sofa. I wasn't really in the mood to sit all smushed up against them.

"What movie are we watching?" I asked

"It's called Snowpiercer" mom replied

"Cool"

I got myself a handful of popcorn before sitting back down in the chair. Surprisingly I felt pretty comfortable. Well, at least more comfortable than I was expecting.

My dad seemed normal, and I was almost certain that he hadn't heard anything. I quickly got my phone up and sent Hyunjin a message telling him that I thought we were good. Hopefully it'd relieve him.

"Phone down, the movie's on" mom said, only slightly annoyed at me

I put it down between my thighs, and started watching the movie. I could feel Hyunjin sending me a couple messages, but I didn't open them.

The movie was surprisingly really entertaining. It was about this train running through the whole world to save people from the freezing weather. The acting was also great.

The bowl of popcorn was quickly emptied, and so my dad went and made some more. I felt both comfortable. Something I hadn't been able to feel along with my parents for a long time.

I was all focused on the movie when my phone vibrated again. This time my parents heard it.

I checked, and it was Hyunjin.

"Oh, it's just one of my friends from camp" I replied

"Who?" Dad questioned

"Hyunjin"

I was about to respond to his text when I was interrupted again.

"What'd he say?" Mom asked curiously

"He was just wondering what I was doing" I lied

I casually put the phone down, as both mom and dad were waiting to resume the movie. I grabbed myself another handful of popcorn, and they resumed.

The whole plot of the movie was great. Dad also loved it. -I figured he would.

When it was done, we kept talking about the different scenes and characters. It was nice talking to dad like this. It almost felt like there was a normal dad-son relationship between us. Even though I couldn't forgive him for stuff, it felt nice.

"The ending was so cool" I said

"I agree! I like how it all ended up making sense" dad exclaimed

"I hope we get another movie in this series" I wished

"Yeah" he replied

Somehow, I felt like his expression changed. Automatically, mine did too.

He cleared his throat all of a sudden.

"And by the way, Felix" he started

My heart was racing again

-"who was it that you were talking to on the phone earlier?" He asked
