《My Brother's Best Friend✔️》21-

RECAP:

"You ok?" He asked but had worry plastered over his face.

His mood changes are something else...

"Never been better." I smiled back at him and he untied the shirt.

Lifting my hands down, I wrapped them around his muscular back and lent into his lips.

He pulled back from me and muttered "Et je suis toujours accro."

("And I'm still addicted.")

There was something unbelievably intimate about waking up next to someone.

Strips of golden sunlight shone into the room and Becca had managed to wrap herself around most of my thin sheets.

I woke up with my arm lay across her stomach and her head was tucked into my bare chest. We hadn't bothered dressing ourselves after last night's events, as we had already seen every inch of each other.

Also we were so exhausted, that we had drifted to sleep after another heated kiss.

She stirred slightly, which brought me back from recalling what brought us here, and buried her head further into my chest whilst placing a hand onto my torso.

But all of this felt too intimate.

After all, she is my best friend's sister and my sister's best friend...everything felt so wrong.

But, then why did last night feel so right? And why does her touch alone light my body on fire?

I know that my younger self would think otherwise, but Becca and I couldn't happen. I just have to get past my liking towards her and move on. I got what I wanted after all, so why do I still long to be between her legs?

Carefully shuffling out of the double bed, I made sure to place her head on a pillow and moved her dark curls away from her lips.

The things those lips can do...

Trying to snap out of it, I pulled on some shorts from my drawer and made my way out of the room.

Everyday in Marseille was getting progressively hotter, so shirts weren't even an option in this sweltering heat.

There was no sign of anyone in the house waking, so I decided to skip writing a note and opened the backdoor to a wave of hot air.

Thank god for household aircon...

Jogging down the staircase, I turned left onto the beach and made my way onto the deserted sand.

I didn't pause before turning my jog into a run and concentrated on my breathing.

Time to clear my fucking head.

The heat of the water on my skin caused a perfect burn as I dragged my soapy hands around my body.

Looking over to the counter, a stupid smile crept onto my face as I remebered last night. Even thinking of the things that Ashton did to me caused small butterflies to erupt inside me. But best of all?...

...There were no strings attached.

Ok... so things are going to be super awkward between us from now on, but It's not like I really talk to Ashton anyway. Plus, in group situations I will easily be able to make an effort to engage in other people's conversations. I'm also leaving in less than a month, so how hard could it be?

I flicked off the water and grabbed a towel from the counter's cabinet.

Loud banging on one of the bathroom doors made me jump backwards.

"One minute!" I shouted and gathered my stuff before unlocking both doors and made my way into my room.

I heard footsteps approaching my door, but after a long pause, they soon retreated and locked both doors before the sound of the shower running brought me back to finding an outfit.

Hopefully searching my wardrobe would calm the pounding in my chest, I thought naively.

I ended up settling for a white vest top and some blue jeans as I wasn't planning on doing anything much today. Applying some brown eyeliner and pinning up my hair with a claw clip, I was ready for breakfast.

Making my way down the staircase, I was met with a wet-haired and fresh-faced Josie, who was busy pouring herself some cranberry juice.

"Morning sleepy." She said and looked up to my confused expression.

"Wait." I picked my phone from my jean pocket and frantically pressed the home screen button."Shit. you've got to be kidding me!" I exclaimed at the time.

Screw breakfast, it's practically mid-afternoon!

"Why is your-"

"Hair wet?" Josie finished for me and I nodded. "We went for a mid-morning swim." She replied and I pulled back a chair to sit next to her.

"We?" I asked

"Oh yeah, Ethan wanted to join. Oh, and then Ash finished his run so he decided to come in." She answered, but even the mention of Ashton's name made me cringe after screaming it so loudly last night.

"Bitchhh you could have woken me up!" I complained.

"Well, I was going to don't get me wrong. But, for a first, Ashton told us not to as he heard you get back late last night. And secondly I know how hard you are to wake up and I needed more time to mentally prepare myself for that task." She joked but I was still thinking about how Ashton had lied to Josie so that I could sleep for longer.

Ugh I need to stop thinking about him...

"But about last night..." My eyes snapped up from my plate of toast and landed on Josie as she looked at me intensely.

I was relieved that she didn't notice me visibly gulp.

"How was the date?" She nudged me and I let out a subtle breath that was being held, only to hold it again when Ashton walked in with his car keys in hand.

"We're going out but will be back later Josie, Mum and Dad are out for the weekend so I'm bringing some friends over tonight." He said with such ease and walked back up the stairs to meet Ethan, never once looking at me in the eye as I continued to eat the last of my crusts... thank god.

"Okay, here me out....You. Me. Sleepover in my room. I'm thinking facemasks.I'm thinking movies. I'm thinking karaoke, but the type that we scream the lyrics to Falling by Harry Styles.I'm thin-"

"Um. Yes.Yes and yes again, count me in bitch."

"Ok good, because I've already set up a Spotify playlist for the whole thing."

"You haven't changed and I love it." I told her and began to wash up my plate in the empty sink.

...

It didn't take long for the sun to descend into the neverending sea. Ashton and Ethan had arrived back at the house a few hours later and Josie and I had been busying ourselves playing a ton of overdue 'call of duty' games.

Lets just say that I started off shit but somehow still remained shit even after many rounds.

A ringing at the door meant that our pizzas had finally been delivered and Josie walked back in with about 8 boxes stacked up to her head.

"Whoa! I didn't think you were going to order that many when I said that I was hungry!" I exclaimed but she placed them all on a smaller table and ignored my comment.

It all began to make sense though when 5 guys walked into the room with plates, napkins and dips.

"Becca this is Jake, Leo and Gabrial." Ashton announced and I met his glance for a split second before shifting my focus on his three friends.

When looking at them, It came to my attention how different all three were.

Jake, for example, had pitch black hair, tattoos, and a fist full of rings. Nontheless he was fucking hot and quite literally screamed 'bad boy'. However, Leo wore a simple sweatshirt with his white hair parted down the centre... He, on the other hand, looked like he broke hearts for a living and even though he held a warm smile on his face, he seemed to be deep in thought. Gabrial positioned himself behind the other two, and although he was taller than everyone in the room, he hid behind his dark curls and kept his head low.

I offered a slight smile to them, and they all returned one except for Gabrial who was still looking at the floor.

"Ashton, tu ne m'as pas dit qu'elle était vraiment sexy." Jake spoke in his french tongue and smirked as me.

("Ashton, you didn't tell me she was really hot.")

I may be crap at french, but it didn't take much brain capacity to know what he had just said. So, standing up from the sofa, I walked over to him and picked up a slice of pizza. I took a bite from it and then wiped the corner of my mouth with my index finger before sucking on my finger slowly to clean away the tomato sauce.

"Potrei dire lo stesso" I spoke in Italian which caught the room off guard.

("I could say the same")

A small smirk attempted to tug at my lips, but the silence of the room became somewhat uncomfortable. So, I spun on my toes to turn towards Josie and told her I was going to grab a drink before walking out of the movie room.

Footsteps quickly followed behind me and I didn't hesitate to see who they belonged to.

"Rebecca. Um- We bought some drinks earlier, I just thought you might need some help getting a couple of glasses." Spoke Jake as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Ok thank you." I replied and he nodded. I began to reach up to grab some glasses, however I was surprised to find Jake pressing himself behind me whilst helping me to reach the higher shelf.

Before I turned around, he leant into my ear and I froze.

"Do you trust me?" He asked and a pleasant whiff of his cologne reached my nose.

I turned my head slightly so that I was looking at his lips. "No, why woul-." I whispered.

"Good." He replied and quickly spun me around before smashing his lips onto mine.

It was a quick kiss and was nothing compared to Ashton's lips, so I quickly pulled away in confusion.

Once I had given him a 'what the hell?' look, he finally murmured. "You'll thank me later."

Shaking my head, I turned around with the glasses, only to see Ashton's figure turning back up the stairs.

Meaning only one thing...

He had just seen Jake kiss me.

XOXO
