《Forgive ( Alicia Clark x You )》(15) Alicia

Alicia heard the faint sound of the motor from her and Y/N's room, and smiled happily to herself while moving to get out of bed. She didn't bother changing, too excited to see Y/N returning. As she made her way onto the deck she saw two people on the small dinghy. One was Nick, and one was a man she didn't recognize.

Alicia felt her stomach turn at the sight in front of her. Where was Y/N? She quickly ran down to where Nick was docking the dinghy, and as she got closer she could tell her brother was upset. He had blood on his face, but Alicia noticed clean lines that had come from this eyes...a tear trail. The sight of the blood made her start to feel like she was going to throw up . Her mind jumped to worst case scenario, and she was terrified that it was Y/N's. There was so much.

"Nick!" Alicia exclaimed as he got out of the dinghy. "Where is Y/N?" There was obvious distress in her voice, and the young brunette watched as her brother gulped heavily.

He opened his mouth to reply, but immediately shut in when nothing came out. Alicia watched as the man he was with walked by them, seemingly not paying any mind to the two Clark's that were clearly in distress. In the amount of time they stood there Madison and Ofelia had also walked down, and were both equally as confused.

"Where's Y/N?" Alicia heard Ofelia ask, worry in her voice.

Nick ran a hand through his hair before responding. "Luis, h-he said one of us had to stay behind. He

only had the money for 9."

Alicia was already shaking her head in denial. "No...You're lying."

Madison placed a hand on her daughters shoulder while motioning for Nick to continue. "Y/N stayed behind. She-she said she promised to keep all of us safe, and that if she didn't stay someone was going to die. Luis was willing to kill one of us right then and there if we didn't choose."

Alicia already had tears streaming down her face, not wanting to believe what Nick was saying. She could feel her mom and Ofelia walking closer, but all she wanted was for Y/N to be the one comforting her. She couldn't imagine the girl that saved her being all on her own. The thought made her sick.

Nick then spoke up again, causing Alicia to release a sob that wrecked her whole body. "She wanted me to tell you that she loves you, Alicia. It was the last thing she said..."

Alicia attempted to move toward the dinghy, her mind set on going back and getting Y/N, but Madison held her back.

"Alicia, you can't," Madison said sternly, though even she was clearly upset.

"Let me go!" Alicia exclaimed, though she knew it was no use. She then dropped to her knees, the sobs continuing to wreck her body. "Y/N!" She screamed out loudly, her voice cracking as she did so.

All three of the other people stood there, unsure of how to make things better. That was when Ofelia spoke up.

"What exactly is Y/N's plan out there?" Ofelia asked sadly. She too had tears streaming down her face. In the short time she'd known the slightly younger y/h/c girl she'd been nothing but kind, even jumping in front of a bullet for her. She couldn't imagine Y/N being out there all alone.

Nick shrugged slightly, obviously still shooken up from leaving Y/N. "Luis gave her his car, and told her how to get where we're going. She told me she'd be there. She sounded serious."

"Strand said the borders were shut down..." Madison said quietly, though Alicia heard her.

This only caused Alicia's heart to twist even more. She couldn't bear the thought of Y/N being alone, sacrificing herself for everyone else. It only proved to her that Y/N truly was selfless, though she wished the girl would have been selfish this one time. Only then Nick wouldn't be here, and Alicia knew she probably would have put the blame on Y/N. Alicia silently cursed the girl for being too smart for her own good.

"YOU DID WHAT?" A loud voice boomed from above them, causing everyone to turn their heads toward the main deck.

When the looked up everyone noticed Strand pushing Luis down the short staircase, causing him to land beside Alicia. Alicia stared at the man in disgust, though her eyes were still filled with tears. She then quickly got to her feet, not wanting to be near the man that made Y/N stay behind. As she stood up Madison pulled her out of Strand's way as he made his way down the staircase as well, a gun in hand.

"How could you leave Y/N?" Strand asked angrily while pointing the gun toward Luis. "Give me one good reason to not shoot you right now."

Luis had his hands up slightly, though he remained on the ground only slightly leaning up.

"B-because if you did then she would have stayed behind for nothing," Luis mumbled out, causing both Alicia and Strand to scoff at him slightly.

Strand stared down at the man angrily, but soon Madison was walking up to him and lowering the gun. "This isn't the way to do things."

Strand kept his gun down, but his gaze remained harsh on Luis. "Your lucky your mother is the one with the safe house or you'd have a bullet straight through your head right now."

With that Strand walked away, and Alicia assumed it was to start the boat toward Mexico. Apparently Luis told him Y/N was probably already on her way to Mexico, and Luis was right. They couldn't exactly kill the son of the woman that was going to keep them safe.

Not wanting to be bothered anymore, Alicia walked away. She headed straight to her room, tears continuing to stream down her face as she did so. Once she was there she slammed the door, locking it behind her and immediately throwing herself into the bed. Beside her she noticed the hoodie Y/N had worn to sleep the night before, and without thinking she grabbed it, shoving her face directly into the bundle of fabric in order to muffle her sobs.

All she could think about was the fact Y/N had promised to comeback. She promised Alicia she'd be right back, and that they'd be together in Mexico. The thought consumed her, but not as much as the other thing on her mind.

Nick said that the last thing Y/N told him was that she loved her. Y/N loved her and Alicia never got the chance to say it back. Alicia knew she loved her. She'd known since the day Y/N got shot, though she knew she'd probably loved her for much longer. She'd spent so much time being angry with the girl in the beginning, though she knew Y/N didn't deserve it. All she could do was pray that one day she could face Y/N again and tell her she loved her. Tears continued to stream down Alicia's face as she pulled away from the hoodie, though she kept it close to her face. The tears blurred her vision, but she couldn't find it in herself to care.

"I love you, too," She mumbled out, staring down at Y/N's hoodie as she did so. "I love you so much."

Y/N never made it to the safe house, not that they were there long. Alicia felt like she'd been all over in the last 6 months. First it was the safe house, then a hotel, and now she had no clue where she was. All she knew was she was East of San Diego. Her and her family had been taken to a place called Broke Jaw Ranch, but it'd recently been overrun by the dead. She'd escaped, but not before losing her mom and brother in the process. They weren't dead, she just didn't know where they were. Travis and Chris were both dead, and Ofelia and Daniel had gone away too.

She was truly and utterly lost. She'd managed to survive on her own, but she knew it wasn't going to last. Troy had told them they were East of San Diego, but she knew it must have been far. Sometimes, in the back of her head, she hoped to somehow run into Y/N. She knew that was more dream than reality, though. As much as she tried to ignore it, her mind always ended at the worst case scenario. Y/N was dead.

As Alicia walked around, equipped with a gun and butterfly knife, she came across an old sign.

San Antonio

"How did I end up in Texas?" Alicia mumbled to herself. Her guess was Troy really did mean East of San Diego, but he certainly left out just how far East they'd been.

Alicia had realized there wasn't really anyone alive out in the open anymore, so she was grateful of all the supplies she could manage to find. She was also grateful for all the empty places for her to live. She'd chosen a small house on the outskirts of the city in an attempt to stay lowkey. She was currently heading into the city for a supply run, which always made her nervous.

As Alicia quietly walked through the streets, she looked around. It was a ghost town. She noticed a lot of dead laying on the street, and realized someone else was probably around too. They wouldn't just randomly have giant holes in their heads, and they certainly wouldn't be so....not decomposed. The thought made her nervous, and she hoped to never run into them.

Alicia shook off the thought, heading into a small corner store that seemed to have a decent amount of supplies. She took out her bag and began filling it with random food and lots of water. She attempted to move quickly, but that soon proved to be a mistake.

The brunette managed to knock a glass jar from the shelf, and cursed silently at the loud noise it made as it hit the ground. She then heard what she dreaded. The groans of walkers. Alicia whipped her head around and noticed a large group walking only a few feet away from the entrance. They then walked straight through the front, and before Alicia could even think to find another exit one came dangerously close to her.

Alicia pointed her gun at its head, but when she went to pull the trigger all she heard was a clicking noise.

"Not now," She cried out when she realized her gun had misfired. "Please, not now."

Alicia pulled her butterfly knife out, stabbing the walker in the head before jumping over the counter of the store. As she attempted to fix her gun she heard the groans become louder, and saw them beginning to walk around the counter.

Alicia braced herself, butterfly knife in hand. But before she had a chance to lift herself from the floor a loud gunshot rang throughout the store. Alicia watched as a walker dropped right in front of her. More gunshots rang, and the walkers continued to drop like flies as they rounded the edge of the counter. Soon they were all piled up, and Alicia sighed out in relief.

The relief was short lived when she heard the sound of boots walking over the broken glass. Alicia bit her lip harshly, bracing herself for whoever was about to round the corner. Her knife was held in front of her, but she didn't dare move.

Then she saw the boots come into sight. Hesitantly she lifted her head up, afraid of who she'd see. However, once she saw the face of her savior Alicia's jaw dropped.

"Y/N?"
