《Forgive ( Alicia Clark x You )》(12) Lies

After they got out of the shower Alicia got dressed and went to get Y/N an Oxycodone. Y/N had explained how taking Oxycodone along with Tylenol ( to keep her fever down) was the best bet. The good news was Y/N had never used Oxycodone when she was an addict, so hopefully it wouldn't be as hard for her to not become dependent again. She'd gone through rehab, and the most important thing she could do was remember everything she'd learned from that experience.

Luckily, they had Oxycodone on the ship. Madison had kept some as a precaution, though she kept it locked away. When Alicia came asking for some, her mother was hesitant. She didn't want to risk having an addict on the boat. Alicia tried not to be offended for Y/N's behalf, but insisted she would keep an eye on her.

Eventually Madison gave in because she knew Y/N truly was not getting any better, and that they'd have bigger problems than an addict if she didn't take the pills. Madison gave Alicia one pill as well as a two Tylenol, and Alicia quickly walked back over to where her and Y/N had been earlier.

When she walked in Y/N was laying on the bed with her shoulders propped up against the headboard. Alicia tried to ignore the fact the older girl was only wearing a sports bra and a pair of shorts for the time being, though it was hard not to stare at the girl's slightly toned stomach as she walked into the room.

"Okay, I got what you told me to," Alicia said while closing the door behind her. "My mom is going to hold onto the pills for the time being."

Y/N nodded, placing a hand on Alicia's thigh as the brunette sat down beside her on the bed. "That's probably for the best, ya know?" Y/N said while squeezing the girl's thigh lovingly before removing her hand.

Alicia missed the contact instantly, but nodded at what Y/N said before holding out the pills toward her. She also passed the older girl a glass of water, but as she did she noticed Y/N staring down at the pills in her hand with a nervous face.

"It's okay, Y/N. Just take them, I'll be right by your side through this whole thing," Alicia reassured her. "They're going to help you."

"Yeah, you're right," Y/N agreed. "I don't know why I'm being such a little bitch about this right now."

"Hey!" Alicia gasped while smacking Y/N's arm gently. "Don't talk about my girl like that."

Y/N rolled her eyes at this, but couldn't help the small smile that came across her lips at Alicia's words. Then, without saying anything, she threw all 3 pills in her mouth and took a sip of water.

"No going back now," Y/N said while looking down at her shoulder. "Let's hope I don't need them for long."

Alicia sighed while wrapping her arms around Y/N's stomach, leaning her head gently on the other girl's shoulder. "You're going to feel better in no time, I just know it."

Y/N smiled and wrapped an arm around Alicia's shoulders, pulling her into her side even closer. "As long as I have you by my side I know that's true."

The two sat in bed for awhile, just simply enjoying the company of each other. After an almost an hour of talking and cuddling they heard a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" Alicia asked while turning her head toward the door.

"It's Ofelia!" The girl at the door called out. "We're making dinner. Are you guys hungry?"

"I could eat," Y/N said to Alicia.

Alicia nodded in agreement before calling back out to Ofelia, who still hadn't opened the door. "We'll be right up, Ofelia."

Ofelia didn't say anything, but they could hear her walking away from the door.

Y/N looked over at Alicia, smiling at her slightly before leaning in for a kiss. It was short, but both girls still got butterflies every time their lips connected.

Once the two pulled away Alicia stood up, grabbing Y/N a tank top from the floor and tossing it over to her. Y/N pulled it on quickly, smiling when she realized the pain from her shoulder had started to subside. It was the first time in a week she wasn't truly in a lot of pain, and it made her realize Alicia had been right. This is what she needed to do.

Alicia walked over to the door, but before she could open it Y/N jumped out of bed and ran up behind her. Alicia yelped in surprise when Y/N wrapped her arms around her waist from behind, pulling her into her body. When Alicia turned her head slightly to see what Y/N was doing the older girl quickly leaned in to capture her lips in one more kiss.

"I'll never get tired of that," Alicia mumbled against Y/N's lips as the girl slowly pulled away.

Y/N hummed in agreement before responding. "I sure hope not because it's starting to be one of my favorite things to do." She then unwrapped her arms from Alicia, allowing the younger girl to open up the door.

As they made their way up to the main level of the yacht they could hear people talking, as well as the sound of plates being placed on the table.

"What's cooking up?" Y/N asked as they walked into the dining room.

"Well," Nick started while walking over to the table with a covered dish. "Seeing as we're in the middle of the ocean..." He paused dramatically before lifting up the lid to reveal what they were eating. "Fish!"

Y/N shrugged. She didn't mind fish, especially when it was fresh. Alicia didn't mind it either, she was just starving and ready to eat whatever was available.

Everyone gathered around the table to eat, but Y/N noticed Strand was missing. She figured he was up top steering, so she didn't bring attention to his absence for the time being.

Alicia sat down beside Y/N, squeezing her hand under the table before bringing it back up so she could eat. Soon everyone began eating, and a comfortable conversation began. It wasn't exactly normal, but it almost felt like it.

"So," Daniel started to speak toward the end of the meal. "Where are we headed?"

Y/N started to open her mouth to answer, but quickly shut it when Madison began to speak.

"Victor said his destination is San Diego," She started to say, causing Y/N to lift an eyebrow in confusion. She knew that wasn't true, but chose not to say anything for the time being. Not until she could speak to Strand herself. "Apparently it's supposed to be a lot more safe down there."

"Sounds like a good place," Travis spoke up. "I grew up around there."

Y/N nodded along. "Yeah, it'll be good..." She then stood up from the table, causing everyone to turn her way. She noticed Alicia's confused expression but ignored it. "If you guys will excuse me."

And with that she quickly started walking up the stairs that led to the steering wheel on the top deck. She saw Strand sitting in the captains chair and cleared her throat to make her presence known.

Once Strand was looking at her she spoke up. "You told them you were going to San Diego?"

Strand shrugged while turning his attention back toward the ocean. This caused Y/N to roll her eyes while walking to stand beside him. Strand was always a difficult person. He was different with Y/N because she grew up knowing him, but everyone else was disposable in his eyes and she knew that.

"Why did you lie, Strand?" She spoke up again while looking out at the vast and empty ocean.

He sighed, but answered her question. "I can only get myself and one other person into Mexico, Y/N. I only paid for two..."

"What do you mean you paid?" Y/N was confused by this.

"Well, actually I haven't paid yet. But it's going to cost to get across the border. I only have the money for two people. Myself and you obviously," He answered her truthfully.

Y/N shook her head in anger, though. "No, I won't go. Not if you're just going to drop them off like puppies at a pound. How do you even know San Diego is safe?"

"I don't," Strand responded. "But that isn't my problem. I agreed to bring your friends on the boat but you know I never agreed to take them all the way to Mexico."

"But you told them you were going to San Diego, too."

Strand shrugged, and Y/N finally turned her head to look back down at him as he started to speak again. "If they know I'm going to Mexico they'll want to come too. I can't risk that."

"This is bullshit!" The young girl exclaimed toward the older man. "I'm telling them."

She turned to walk back downstairs but Strand quickly grabbed her wrist, keeping her from walking away. "Don't you dare tell them, Y/N. Don't ruin everything I've worked for."

"Let me go," Y/N said through gritted teeth, but Strand didn't let up his grip. "Fine, I won't tell them but I'm not going to Mexico with you."

"Now wait, Y/N-"

"Dammit let me go!"

"What is going on here?" Someone said from the top of the stairs, causing the two that were arguing to turn their attention toward them. They noticed Madison standing there, a confused look on her face.

"Nothing," Both Y/N and Strand said at the same time. Strand also released his grip on her wrist, and she quickly pulled her arm back while sending him a glare.

"Are you okay, Y/N?" Madison seemed concerned at the sight she'd just walked into.

Y/N nodded, though. She wasn't going to sell Strand out. That's not how she was raised. "I'm okay, we were just talking about old family drama. It doesn't matter, though."

Madison didn't seem convinced, but accepted her answer before turning and walking back down the stairs, clearly not wanting to get involved. Once she was out of sight Y/N turned to look at Strand again.

"We can sneak them across the border," Y/N insisted, but Strand shook his head.

"We'll all die if we do that, Y/N," He responded, but she didn't want to accept his answer.

Y/N shook her head in denial, an upset look on her face. "I'm not leaving Alicia!"

He sighed at her words. He knew that was what was upsetting her the most, and he understood as well. Strand felt the same about Thomas. He truly didn't know how to get them all into Mexico, though.

"You love her, don't you?" He asked, but Y/N didn't respond. He knew the answer, though. He could see it in her eyes. "I don't know what to tell you, kid," Strand started to say. "Theres no other options."

"Like hell there isn't," Y/N said while walking toward the stairs. She stopped right before walking down them, turning to face him one more time. "And stop calling me a fucking kid!"

Y/N was clearly upset when she walked back into the dining room, and everyone noticed. Nick attempted to ask her what was wrong but she ignored him, walking straight past everyone and toward the room her and Alicia were sharing. She heard Alicia calling after her but tried to ignore it, not wanting to lie to the girl's face. Y/N knew Alicia would follow her though, and she was right. As soon as Y/N entered the room she heard Alicia walk in behind her, shutting the door as she did so.

"Will you tell me what's going on?" Alicia asked while walking over to Y/N who had her head turned toward the wall. Alicia noticed Y/N's hands bunched up into fists, and gently took one into her hand as she walked up beside the girl. When it remained in a fist the younger girl spoke softly. "Please, just relax. It's only us in here."

At Alicia's words Y/N calmed down slightly, allowing Alicia to interlace their fingers as she unclenched her fist. Alicia could see Y/N's face scrunched up in anger, but watched as she slowly relaxed.

After a few seconds of silence the older girl finally spoke up. "Strand and I just had a disagreement."

"Are you sure that's all?" Alicia questioned her, not fully convinced it was a simple disagreement that had taken place.

Y/N turned toward Alicia, taking the girl's other hand into her one free hand while nodding reassuringly. "Yeah babe, I'm sure. Strand and I have always had disagreements on things. It's nothing I can't handle."

Alicia smiled at her, nodding in understanding before leaning forward to rest her forehead against Y/N's. Y/N smiled back, but she still couldn't stop thinking about everything.

She wanted to tell Alicia the truth, but once she did she knew Alicia wouldn't hesitate to tell everyone else. There was no telling what they would do to Strand if they found out. But Y/N also knew the longer she waited the worse it would be when Alicia did find out. She realized Strand was right - she did love Alicia, and losing her would suck. However, it seemed like right now she didn't have many options. All she knew was she refused to leave Alicia behind, and she knew that came with everyone else too.

She'd figure out a way for them to all get into Mexico. She didn't have a choice.
