"You're talking about that boat?"

Strand then smiled, answering Alicia for Y/N. "She's talking about The Abigail."

As Strand said this Nick and Travis walked out, looking over to where Y/N was pointing as well. Nick then laughed slightly. "Wait Abigail is a boat? I thought she was your wife."

"HA," Y/N said jokingly, causing everyone to turn toward her in confusion. "Strand is gay, bro."

"You know," Nick said while nodding and looking back out toward the boat. "I should have seen that coming."

As Nick walked over to lean on the railing Y/N side eyed Travis, who had a guilty face. He knew he fucked up, and Y/N knew he knew as well. She didn't want to bring it up, though. Honestly her excitement to see the boat took the pain away for a minute, but now it was back in full force. She leaned back slightly, groaning out in pain as she did so. Alicia eyed her worriedly while moving to lean down beside her.

"Do you need anything, Y/N? We have pain me-" Y/N shot her a look that made Alicia realize what she was offering was stupid. "Okay, yeah that was dumb. I don't know how to help..."

Y/N bit her lip slightly before looking up at Strand. "Hey, can I get some whiskey?"

Strand nodded, though he didn't answer verbally. Travis looked like he wanted to object but he also know he wasn't in a position to argue with the girl at that moment. Strand and Travis walked back into the house, and Strand grabbed her a bottle before walking back out and handing it to her. Travis didn't return, but she didn't really care where he was.

Y/N took the bottle gratefully. She then unscrewed the lid before taking a giant swig. The girl sighed at the burn before smiling slightly and holding the bottle out toward Alicia. Alicia smiled and took the bottle from her hand, ignoring the look Nick was giving her before taking a small sip.

She cringed slightly before coughing, causing Nick, Strand and Y/N to all laugh. "That burns!" Alicia exclaimed, though she started to laugh as well.

Y/N shrugged while taking the bottle back and going in for another swig. "Feels better than this bullet wound."

As Y/N was talking Ofelia and Daniel walked out to the balcony, giving Y/N a sad look as they looked over at the girl that was clearly in pain.

"Y/N," Ofelia said while walking over to the girl. "I'm so sorry for this."

She shook her head. "It's not your fault," She answered honestly. "James was always gonna come looking for revenge. I'd say he got it worse in the end, though."

Ofelia laughed gently as Y/N said this. Daniel then spoke up from behind them. "Thank you for protecting my daughter."

Y/N turned to look at him while smiling. "Of course, Daniel. But you know what Travis said wasn't true, right? I didn't want to let James go."

Daniel nodded. "Trust me I know. Travis has a lot to learn about this world."

As Daniel said this they heard a loud gunshot ring out through the valley, making everyone tense up and look out toward the beach. Y/N attempted to stand up but Alicia placed her hands on the girls good shoulder, holding her down. Y/N looked over toward the beach and noticed Chris running behind a wall, though she couldn't see what was behind it. Y/N then saw Travis walk out from behind it, his hands on his head. He was clearly upset, and she was confused.

"MOM!" Chris's scream echoed through the valley, causing Y/N's heart to sink. She saw Madison walk out from behind the wall with a gun in her hand and she knew what was happening.

"No..." Y/N muttered. She attempted to stand up again but Alicia continued to hold her down. "LIZA!" Y/N yelled out, tears starting to fall from her eyes. Liza was one of the only people that always treated her with kindness. She treated her like a daughter which was something Y/N hadn't felt in a long time.

"Shhhh," Alicia said while leaning down slightly over the older girl, wrapping her arms around her shoulders as she did so. "It's okay, Y/N."

Y/N could tell Alicia was upset as well, and she noticed Nick had started running down to the beach. She also noticed Madison walking out onto the balcony, but she wasn't mad. She knew Madison wouldn't have killed the woman without a reason.

"She was bit..." Madison said quietly. Everyone on the balcony nodded in understanding, but Y/N couldn't stop herself from feeling sick. She held the feeling back, not wanting to vomit in front of everyone though the feeling was strong. She couldn't believe Liza was dead. Not after she'd just saved her life an hour before. Without Liza Y/N probably would have bled out in that garage.

The balcony was silent until Y/N finally spoke up. "I wanna go to sleep," She said quietly. Alicia pulled away, looking over to Strand. Before she could ask him where a bed was Y/N spoke up again. "In my house."

"Okay," Alicia nodded. "Do you want someone to come with?"

Y/N nodded in confirmation. "Daniel? Ofelia?" She said while looking over toward the two. A sad look came over Alicia's face but it quickly went away when Y/N spoke again. "And Alicia? Can you help me over there?"

Alicia said she would, as well as Daniel and Ofelia. Alicia helped the older girl up gently before once again wrapping her arm around Y/N's waist. Madison also sent them another confused look, but Nick's smirk made her realize what was going on.

The older woman had to admit she didn't see that one coming.

Once Alicia helped Y/N over to her house Y/N sighed deeply before typing the gate code in. When the gate opened she nervously stepped into the driveway, breathing shakily.

Danial and Ofelia followed closely behind the girls, and Daniel closed the gate behind them as they approached the side door. Y/N told Ofelia there was a spare key up in the outside light, which she quickly reached up to retrieve before handing it over to the owner. Y/N quickly unlocked the door, gulping heavily before taking a hesitant step into the house. She couldn't even focus on Alicia rubbing small circles on her waist as the two walked further into the house.

"Wow," Y/N said while looking around. "It's just how I left it."

"This place is amazing," Ofelia responded from behind the girls. "This is really yours?"

Y/N nodded in confirmation, smiling slightly as she took it all in. She saw her dad's vintage guitar collection, her mom's collection of records, and her old skateboard. After not being there for a year it felt surreal. She heard Alicia ask where her bedroom was, and Y/N pointed toward a door upstairs that they quickly started walking towards.

"Make yourself at home!" Y/N called out to the Salazar's as she walked up the staircase. "There's two guest bedrooms down there. Oh and a movie theater!"

Soon Y/N was opening her old bedroom door, and she quickly released herself from Alicia's hold. She walked over to her dresser, pulling off the bloody shirt she was wearing and exchanging it for a clean one. She realized Alicia was probably staring but she didn't care anymore. She hadn't realized how tired she was until that moment, so as soon as she had on a clean shirt she went to sit on her bed. She kicked off her shows, leaning back and sighing heavily as she relaxed.

After a few moments she looked toward the door and noticed Alicia still standing in the doorway awkwardly. "You gonna come in or just stand there?" She joked.

Alicia's eyes widened slightly in surprise before she smiled, closing the door behind her and walking further into the room. Y/N patted the bed beside her, inviting Alicia to lay down there. She noticed Alicia seemed hesitant but the younger girl still took her shoes off before laying down beside the older girl.

The two remained in silence for a bit, and Y/N felt herself slowly start to drift off. Before she could fall asleep, however, Alicia spoke up effectively waking her.

"I'm sorry, Y/N," Alicia said shakily. "What I did yesterday...it was stupid."

Y/N turned to look at her. "Which part?" She asked although she was scared to hear the answer. She wasn't sure she could handle Alicia calling the kiss stupid at that moment.

Alicia sighed while looking down at her lap, staring at her hands as she fumbled with them. "Getting upset with you. Blaming you. Being so awful to you. I thin-I think I was in denial."

Y/N smiled slightly, relieved the girl wasn't talking about the kiss itself. "In denial about what?"

"About liking you..." Alicia said quietly. "I've never liked a girl before and I was scared. When we kissed it just confirmed how I felt and I freaked out honestly."

By now Y/N was smiling like an idiot, and Alicia had finally looked up to look at the girl beside her. "I knew you liked me!" Y/N said cheekily. "Well actually I didn't but I was hoping for it."

"You were?" Alicia sounded surprised.

Y/N nodded while reaching over to grab one of Alicia's hands, interlacing their fingers as she did so. "Is it not obvious that I like you?"

Alicia shrugged, but she was now also smiling like and idiot. "You like me?"

"Mhm," Y/N hummed. "I think I have ever since you elbowed me in the face."

Alicia cringed slightly at the mention of this, but upon hearing Y/N's laughter she knew the girl was only joking.

"But I treated you like shit, Y/N..."

"I think it made me like you more," Y/N joked again, causing Alicia to roll her eyes. "But really, you have no idea how happy I am right now."

"Even after getting shot?"

"Yup," Y/N confirmed. "Honestly getting shot makes you not really care about stupid stuff that happened the day before. But I won't lie as happy as I am I'm also in a lot of pain, and really want to sleep."

"Oh, okay," Alicia made a move to get out of bed but the other girl pulled her back, causing Alicia to lean slightly on her good shoulder as she did so. "You want me to stay?"

"Please," Y/N responded. Alicia nodded, moving to make herself more comfortable by cuddling into Y/N's side and wrapping her arm around the girl's stomach. Y/N smiled slightly while wrapping an arm around Alicia's shoulders, pulling her in closer as their fingers remained interlaced by Y/N's side. After everything that had happened she realized holding a grudge wasn't worth it- especially if it meant she got to hold Alicia in her arms and sleep.

Both girls sighed contently before slowly drifting off to sleep.

Y/N woke up a few hours later to a sharp pain in her shoulder. She groaned quietly and moved to shift slightly, sending a burning sensation throughout her whole upper body. This caused her to groan out even louder, waking Alicia up as she did so.

"What's wrong?" Alicia asked quickly while sitting up. It was dark out now, but the moon was shining brightly and allowed for her to be able to see the other girl.

Y/N sighed while pointing toward her shoulder. "It just hurts so fucking bad, Alicia..." She mumbled out pathetically, her voice cracking slightly as she spoke. Alicia had never seen the girl like this before and it honestly saddened her.

"What can I do?" The brunette asked gently while cupping the older girl's cheek with her hand.

Y/N leaned her face into the embrace before answering. "Can you get me some water and maybe some Advil? I think I have some in my bathroom."

Alicia nodded quickly, moving out of bed and grabbing a random flashlight from Y/N's dresser before heading downstairs to get some water.

While she was gone Y/N attempted to focus on anything other than the pain, but that only forced her thoughts onto Liza. She couldn't believe she was dead. Y/N felt like she'd lost her parents all over again. She hadn't known Liza long, but after losing your own mother it was easy to get attached to anyone that treated you even remotely like you were their kid. It was hard seeing people you cared about die, and Y/N had arguably gone through that too much in the past year. She felt a tear slip out of her eye but quickly wiped it away when she heard Alicia walking back into the bedroom.

Alicia had successfully gotten Y/N a glass of water and two Advil, handing them over to the girl before sitting back down beside her. She then gently helped Y/N to sit up, and Y/N smiled gratefully at her once she was in a seated position. The y/h/c girl quickly popped the Advil's into her mouth before swallowing them down with the water. She then continued to drink the water, but stopped after a moment to offer Alicia a sip which she gratefully took.

Alicia then carefully reached over Y/N to place the cup down on the girl's nightstand. She then leaned back down with Y/N following suit, this time cuddling into Alicia. The pain was still awful, but she knew it could be worse. She could be dead and not in the arms of the girl she liked right now. Y/N wondered if things would be different if Alicia hadn't watched her almost die, but she decided not to dwell.

It didn't really matter anymore.
