《Forgive ( Alicia Clark x You )》(5) Cobalt

Y/N successfully made it to Ofelia's place without being caught, and now she was standing outside the front door, knocking on it gently. After a few seconds Ofelia opened it, grabbing the girl by the collar of her shirt and pulling her in quickly.
Once inside Ofelia released her hold on the girl, breathing heavily as she began to speak. "He's in the basement."
Y/N's eyes widened, realizing Ofelia had actually pulled it off and that they actually had a hostage. Oh shit they had a hostage.
"Take me to him," Y/N said quickly, and Ofelia simply nodded before leading the girl down a dark staircase. Once they were downstairs Y/N saw a single room being illuminated and could hear someone speaking from inside it.
The two girls walked into the room, and Y/N gasped slightly at the sight in front of her. An older man was sat down right in front of a soldier who was being held down by rope and electrical tape.
"Papa," Ofelia started as the two walked in. "This is my friend Y/N. She's the one that helped me. Y/N, this is my father Daniel."
"Has he said anything?" Y/N questioned, skipping over the formalities.
Daniel shook his head. "Not yet," He then reached down, revealing a sharp kitchen knife as he picked it up. "But he will."
At the sight of this Y/N quickly leaned over to whisper into Ofelia's ear. "He's gonna torture him?"
Ofelia shrugged slightly though worry was spread across her face. "He didn't mention it to me..." She whispered back. "Papa, what are you doing?"
The soldier held fear in his eyes, and Y/N watched as he attempted to yell through the tape currently covering his mouth. She felt sick to her stomach. This wasn't who she was. She wasn't a person that tortured innocent people. Except he wasn't innocent, and Y/N kept trying to tell herself that.
"Making him talk," Ofelia's father replied while going to remove the tape from his mouth. "Now where is my wife?" At this point Daniel had the knife hovering over the other's man's arm, and Y/N but her lip slightly in anticipation. When the man refused to respond Daniel swiftly sliced the man's arm, causing him to scream out in pain.
"What the fuck is going on here?" All four people in the room quickly whipped their head toward the door at the sound of someone new entering.
Y/N's eyes widened quickly when she noticed Alicia standing there, a shocked look on her face. Before anyone could answer, Daniel was standing up and walking toward the brunette with the knife wielded. However, Y/N quickly moved to stand in front of Alicia, her hand moving to grasp the handle of the pistol resting in the band of her sweatpants.
She didn't pull the gun out, instead trying to calm down Daniel who looked shocked and angry at the sight of someone else in the basement. "Stop!" She exclaimed as Alicia grabbed hold of Y/N's bicep gently out of fear. "This is Nick's sister. She must have followed me here but she isn't a threat. She wants him back as bad as you want your wife back." Y/N moved her free arm behind her, gently grabbing hold of Alicia's waist as they took a few steps back, causing Alicia's front to push against her back.
As Y/N and Alicia stepped back they could hear Ofelia trying to calm her father down in Spanish. Although neither girl could understand what was being said it must have worked, because Daniel lowered his knife while walking back over to the man who was tied up.

Once Daniel was no longer a threat Y/N turned to look at Alicia, though she left her hand resting on Alicia's waist gently. "Alicia, what are you doing here?" She questioned the girl who was still in a state of shock, though Y/N wasn't sure if it was from the sight of the man tied up or the fact she just had a knife being wielded at her. It was probably both.
"I-you started to sneak off an—and I saw you and followed becau-because I didn't know what you were doing," Alicia stumbled over her own words as she spoke quickly.
"Hey, hey it's okay," Y/N attempted to calm the girl down. "It's okay but listen to me - you cannot tell anyone what is happening here. If you do bad things could happen to us all."
As Y/N said this Alicia pushed her hand away from her waist before turning around and quickly walking out of the room.
"Shit," The older girl mumbled before turning her head to address Ofelia. "I'll be right back," As she said this she turned back around to run after Alicia.
She caught up to the younger girl right before she exited the front door, and Y/N quickly reached out to grab hold of her wrist which stopped her from leaving.
Alicia yanked her wrist from Y/N's grip, though she made no move to leave the house. Instead she turned back to face the girl, an angry look on her face. "What the hell are you doing, Y/N? What the fuck is wrong with you?"
Y/N stepped forward slight, which only caused Alicia to take a step back. The girl sighed before speaking. "You told me to get Nick back! Ofelia lost her mom and we made this plan to tie up the soldier until he started talking," Alicia still looked angry, but she motioned for Y/N to continue speaking. "Please, believe me when I say I had no intentions of hurting him. I didn't know Daniel was fucking insane, Alicia. I was just as surprised as you were when he cut him."
Alicia stood there in silence, causing Y/N to grow worried. If Alicia was to say something to someone else it could cost the y/h/c girl her life, along with Ofelia and Daniel's. When she still didn't say anything Y/N spoke up again. "Alicia, I am so sorry you had to see that but I am begging you to believe me right now and not say a word to anyone. It could get me killed."
"You think he'll really spill?" Alicia questioned, catching the other girl off guard.
Y/N nodded in response, once again taking a step toward Alicia. This time Alicia didn't step back, causing a sense of relief to rush over the older girl. "I know he will. But I need you to trust me. I understand that's hard for you-"
"I trust you," Alicia cut her off. "This is all just so fucking insane."
Y/N nodded. "I know it is. Believe me I know. I'm telling the truth when I say I didn't know Daniel was going to...torture him."
Alicia's expression softened as the older girl spoke. "It's okay," She said while placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. "We basically grew up together and you were always a bit...soft."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Y/N questioned, though there was humor laced in her tone. "I am not soft, ma'am."
Alicia laughed slightly at the girl's response. Y/N smiled as she heard this, the familiar feeling of her heart fluttering beginning to surface. She quickly made it stop though, knowing now wasn't the time for her mixed emotions toward the girl to surface.

"Listen to me," Y/N started to speak again. "I'm going to talk to Ofelia and then we can leave. But please don't leave without me. It isn't safe outside."
"No," Alicia responded, catching the other girl off guard. However, before she could protest the girl leaving on her own she spoke up again. "I want to go back down there with you." She said with a sure tone.
Y/N bit her lip in contemplation, watching as Alicia removed the hand from her shoulder while waiting for a response. Finally, Y/N nodded her head. "Yeah, okay. Are you sure?"
"I'm sure," Alicia nodded.
The two girls then turned around, making their way back toward the small room in the basement. As they walked in they noticed the man's mouth had been retaped and he now had a wet rag resting over the arm that had been cut.
"James isn't talking," Ofelia started as she noticed the two walk in. "But we did get him to help us turn on his radio. Now it's just a matter of listening for anything that can help."
Daniel nodded in agreement with his daughter. After Y/N heard this she walked toward the man while Alicia stayed back, watching her curiously.
The y/h/c girl slowly leaned forward until her face was right in front of the soldier who she know knew by the name of James. "You're going to tell us where they are," Y/N started to say lowly. "Or you're going to wish you had."
The girl then backed away, keeping her eyes on the man as she did so. She could see fear in her eyes but almost couldn't even bring herself to care. She recognized him from the night before at the Clark's house as the one that dragged Nick out, making her blood boil.
After she was done staring at the man she turned back around, informing Ofelia and Daniel that she would be back in the morning.
Before she could walkout with Alicia, however, Daniel grabbed her wrist and pulled her in close. "You have a gun," He stated rather than asked. He was whispering so that Y/N was the only one that could hear. "Keep it close." And with that he released her.
"Goodnight, Y/N," Ofelia said before turning her attention toward Alicia. "And nice to see you again."
Alicia simply nodded while Y/N said goodnight to the Salazars. The two girls then walked up the stairs, but Y/N stopped walking right before the front door. She went to look out a window, noting that no one was outside. Alicia looked outside as well just to be sure. Once they confirmed the coast was clear the two girls exited the house, not saying a word to one another on the short walk back. Alicia stood close to Y/N so it would be easier for the two to hide if necessary, while the older girl remained on high alert. Her eyes scanned the dark roads as they walked before finally reaching the Clark's house.
Y/N sighed in relief once both girls were safely hidden behind Travis' truck in the dark driveway.
"Are you okay?" She asked the younger girl standing beside her. Alicia simply nodded, and Y/N accepted it for the time being. She then made a move to climb onto the truck but Alicia quickly stopped her, pulling her back around by the wrist. "What's wrong?"
Alicia shook her head slightly before wrapping her arms around Y/N's shoulders, pulling her into a tight hug. It took Y/N by surprise but she quickly relaxed, moving to wrap her arms around the other girls waist.
"Thank you for looking out for Nick," Alicia mumbled into the slightly taller girl's shoulder. She then pulled away, causing Y/N to drop her arms back to her side while Alicia did the same.
"I couldn't save him back then," Y/N shrugged. "The least I can do is save him now."
Alicia smiled sadly at the girl before going to turn inside, however she stopped right before she reached the front door. "Hey, Y/N," She called out to the girl who was still standing in the driveway, watching as Alicia stopped walking.
"Yeah?"
"Please don't sleep outside," Alicia then responded. "You can sleep in Nick's room, ya know?"
Y/N nodded. "Yeah, I know. I just haven't felt very welcomed here I guess. I want to stay out of everyone's way."
"Please come inside," Alicia begged the girl, sadness spread across her face. "I'm sorry if my mom and I have made you feel like that, but that doesn't mean you deserve to be sleeping on the roof."
Y/N bit her lip slightly in contemplation before agreeing to come inside. As the two walked in she noticed Chris was nowhere to be seen, causing her to question where the younger boy was sleeping. However, her question was quickly answered when the two girls reached Nick's room and Chris was fast asleep in his bed.
"Looks like someone beat me to it," Y/N joked while turning to look toward Alicia. "I'm gonna sleep on the couch."
"Okay," Alicia nodded while stepping back from the room, Y/N following. "I'll see you in the morning?"
"Yeah, I'll see you then," Y/N then turned back toward the living room while Alicia made her way to her bedroom.
Once Y/N got to the living room she sighed, sitting down and leaning her head against the back of the couch. She couldn't sleep, her mind was racing. She now had a hostage in her friend's basement, her best friend was still missing, and now she couldn't stop thinking about Alicia. The girl was weird, going from hating her one second to hugging her the next.
Y/N shifted on the couch, propping her legs up and laying down. She closed her eyes, willing her mind to be quiet and just let her sleep. All she wanted was to wake up the next morning and hear that Ofelia knew where they were. That's all she could hope for at the moment. She knew it was wishful thinking, but it didn't stop her from hoping. Finally she felt tiredness forming behind her closed eyes, and eventually she drifted off to sleep.
The next morning Y/N woke up to the feeling of the warm sun shining through the slightly opened curtains. She noticed no one else was awake yet and took it as an opportunity to slip back to Ofelia's - alone this time. She stood up, stretching slightly and going to brush her teeth. Once that was done she walked back into the living room, taking the pistol she'd slipped in between the cushions of the couch out and placing it back into her waistband.
Y/N then quietly slipped out the front door, sighing slightly before heading down the street. When she arrived at Ofelia's she knocked on the door, and the older girl opened it almost immediately. Y/N walked in when Ofelia stepped to the side, and the other girl quickly shut the door behind them, locking it instantly.
"Has he said anything?" Y/N asked.
Ofelia nodded. "He mentioned a compound a few miles away, but he won't give us the exact location."
Y/N nodded in understanding, following closely behind Ofelia as she led her downstairs. When they walked into the small room Y/N noticed both of James' arms were now covered in wet, bloody rags. The sight caused her to cringe slightly but she quickly shook it away.
"The radio keeps saying something about Cobalt, but he won't tell us what it means," Daniel said as Y/N stepped further into the room.
"He'll tell us," Y/N nodded while staring at the soldier. "It's not like he has anything else to do."
Daniel took a step back from James, cleaning off the kitchen knife with a random rag laying on the floor. Ofelia moved to stand beside Y/N, both of them staring at the soldier as he leaned his head back.
"What is Cobalt?" Ofelia question him, causing the man to laugh slightly. The tape was no longer covering his mouth like it was last night, and Y/N could see a trail of blood falling from his lips.
James lifted his head before spitting toward the two girls, effectively hitting Ofelia in the face with a mix of blood and saliva.
As that happened Y/N quickly stepped forward, taking hold of James shirt and pulling him forward harshly. She then surprised herself when she took her hand back before connecting her fist with his face. His head spun to the side, and she released his shirt while pushing him back into the chair hard.
"Only way you're getting out of this alive is if you tell us," Y/N told him while stepping back.
"It won't matter soon," He said quietly, making Y/N raise her eyebrow toward him. "We're all going to die when they leave."
"When who leaves?" Daniel cut into the conversation, pushing past the girls to sit back down in front of the soldier. "Who is leaving?"
"You know who..." James trailed out.
"When?" Y/N asked, knowing he was talking about the soldiers that patrolled the neighborhood.
"I don't know," He answered honestly. "But probably soon."
Daniel then spoke up again. "Y/N, go back to your friends and tell them to be ready to leave. We will get the location out of this man. But like I said, keep your gun close."
"Yes sir," Y/N responded while turning to leave. Before she could make her way up the stairs Ofelia stopped her.
"Thank you," Ofelia said while staring at the younger girl. "I'll come for you when we know."
Y/N simply nodded before turning back around and walking up the stairs. Once she was back outside she looked around, noticing a much smaller presence of soldiers than usual. Before she could step off the front porch, however, she noticed a bike with a familiar brunette on it approaching the house.
Alicia stopped right in front of the Salazars place, a slight smile on her face as she looked up at Y/N. "Come on," She motioned for Y/N to come over to her. "I wanna show you something."
