《Forgive ( Alicia Clark x You )》(4) Gone Swimming

Ofelia left later in the day, but not before giving Y/N her address and telling her to meet her there later that night. Ofelia planned on sneaking off with the soldier and convincing him to come to her house, where he dad would tie him up and get it out of him. Y/N knew it sounded crazy, but honestly the whole world was crazy right now and they were the ones that took Nick and Ofelia's mom in the first place. Now it was their turn to take someone.
Y/N watched as Ofelia walked away before climbing down the roof herself and heading inside. She noticed no one was there besides Chris and Madison, causing her to question where Alicia had went off to. She hoped it wasn't outside the fence, but figured Alicia wouldn't be stupid enough to do that anyway. The girl was always smart, so after almost getting caught the first time Y/N didn't think she'd venture out again.
"What have you been up to today?" Madison asked her as she walked into the living room. She was reading an old magazine and sipping on a glass of wine.
Y/N shrugged. "Making friends and working on finding Nick and Liza."
Madison sighed, moving to close her magazine before speaking again. "Y/N, you don't have to get Nick back. I'm sorry for what Alicia said bu-"
"I want to," Y/N cut in. "It's the least I can do for you letting me stay here."
"He was with the soldiers, he'll be okay," The older woman said, though it sounded like she was trying to convince herself that.
"I'm bored anyway, nothing much to do," Y/N responded while walking toward the back room.
As she walked back she saw Chris standing by the back door, a towel and sunscreen in his hands. She stopped walking to ask what he was up to.
"Neighbors have a pool," He said while turning to look toward her. "Since they're gone I figured I'd put it to use. You down?"
Y/N thought for a second before deciding to come with him. It wasn't like she had anything else to do until later that night. Plus, going for a swim sounded nice. She asked him to wait up for her before quickly walking towards Nick's room to get a pair of basketball shorts to change into. She knew Alicia would murder her if she tried to borrow one of her swimsuits, so Nick's shorts and her sports bra would have to work. After putting the shorts on she walked back to Chris who led her over to the Neighbors backyard.
"It's a little gross," The younger boy said while taking his flip flops off and staring down at the water.
The water had leaves scattered throughout, and the bottom looked slightly brown but Y/N shrugged. "Well I've seen grosser things lately so," She then pulled her shirt off, rolling her eyes when she noticed Chris staring at her stomach. "Don't be a perv."
He quickly threw his hands up in surrender. "Whoa I'm not checking you out, I'm checking that bruise out," He then pointed toward the large bruise on her stomach. "That soldier really did a number on you."
"Yeah, I know.." She mumbled out while staring down at the bruise. "I couldn't breathe for a few seconds after her hit me."
"What a dick," Chris responded while pulling his shirt off as well.
Once they were both down to their "swimwear" the two jumped in, enjoying the coolness from the water as they began to swim around. It felt nice to be doing something relatively normal for once. They spent 20 minutes just swimming around, splashing each other and joking about random things. Chris had started feeling like a little brother to the older girl, and spending time with him was something she enjoyed. Soon they started to just leisure about the water, resting their arms on random pool noodles as they talked. Y/N noticed the way he started to look upset and she could tell something was bothering her.

"Hey, Chris," She started, causing him to look up at her with a questioning gaze. "We're gonna get your mom back, you know?"
He nodded slightly, a sad smile on his face. "I just don't understand why she left with them."
"She probably felt like she didn't have a choice," Y/N responded honestly. "Those soldiers were really making a scene."
He laughed out slightly as she said this, causing her to smile at him. They soon went back to having random conversations, mainly with Chris asking Y/N about her time back in high school. She told him all about how she was a star athlete on the women's soccer team, and that she had even started getting scouted at one point. Chris put two in two together, not feeling the need to ask why it never panned out. He knew Nick and Y/N had gotten into drugs senior year and that they never really looked back.
"Can I ask you something?" Chris questioned the girl. She motioned for him to continue so he did. "Why did you decide to get clean? Nick said you have been for, like, a year now."
Y/N sighed slightly, a sad smile coming across her lips before she answered. "About 14 months ago my parents got into a car accident. They had just picked me up from some random drug den and I was high off my ass in the backseat. They both died and I-" She paused slightly, an uneven breath escaping her lips before she continued. "Well obviously I lived and yeah...when I woke up in the hospital I'd never felt more low and guilty in my life. I chose to go to rehab, and I never looked back. I tried to get Nick to come with me but he wouldn't."
Chris nodded in understanding, a comforting look on his face as he watched the girl try to keep her composure. "That's why you stopped hanging around him? You were scared to fall back into old patterns."
She nodded in confirmation. "I just knew he wouldn't understand. When I went to him right before rehab he was so high he couldn't even comprehend the fact my parents were dead."
As she said this she heard a throat clearing from behind her, causing both of them to turn their heads to the person standing there.
"My mom was, uh, asking where the two of you went," Alicia said while standing beside the pool, her arms crossed. "But I see you're just messing around in our dead neighbors pool so..."
"Just trying to have a little normalcy," Chris responded as Y/N nodded in agreement.
Alicia nodded slightly before continuing. "Well, your dad was wondering if the two of you could talk." She pointed toward Chris.
Chris sighed, but agreed to go back to the Clark's house to talk to his father. He got out of the pool, drying off slightly before throwing his shirt on and walking back to the house. Once he was gone Alicia remained where she was standing, staring down at Y/N who was still floating in the pool.
Y/N noticed the girl staring and smiled slightly. "Would you like to join me? The water feels nice."
Alicia shook her head. "No, I'm just waiting for you to get out so we can go back to the house."
"Who said I was getting out?" Y/N asked while floating closer.
"You can't just swim all day," Alicia said while rolling her eyes.
"Fine," Y/N said while swimming toward where Alicia was standing at the edge of the pool. She then extended a hand toward the younger girl. "Help me out?"

"You can't get out yourself?" Alicia had an unimpressed look on her face. Y/N simply nodded while keeping her hand extended. Finally Alicia gave in, reaching her hand out to help the other girl exit the pool. Y/N had other plans though, and smirked slightly as Alicia grabbed hold of her hand before pulling the girl into the pool. A loud splash was heard, and Y/N began to laugh her ass off as Alicia swam up to the surface, an angry look on her face. "You're such an ass," She said while slapping the other girl's arm.
Y/N let her laughter die down before responding. "I know, I know but now that you're in you might as well swim - ha that rhymed."
Alicia huffed, but didn't make a move to exit the pool. Instead she placed her arms on the pool noodle Chris had been using while the annoyed look remained on her face.
"Cmon," Y/N started while swimming closer to the girl. "Can't we just have fun for once?"
"There's nothing fun about swimming fully clothed with your brother's annoying friend," The girl grumbled.
Y/N rolled her eyes at this remark. "Then take your clothes off," She joked. Alicia sent her a harsh glare which caused her to continue. "Not all of them, dummy. I just figured since you're already in you might as well get comfortable."
Alicia kept her harsh glare on the girl, but decided she was right. She might as well make herself more comfortable. Plus, the water did feel nice...
"Fine," Alicia stated while going to remove her pants. Y/N smiled slightly toward her before turning around, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. She then felt something hit her head, and looked down into the water to see Alicia's shirt floating in front of her, meaning the girl was now down to her bra and underwear.
The older girl turned back around, but her breath caught in her throat at the sight in front of her. Growing up she'd never really looked at Alicia as anything but her friend's little sister. Only now she was an adult - and really fucking attractive. She quickly shook the thoughts out of her head before swimming closer to Alicia, taking the spare noodle that was beside the girl.
"Isn't this nice?" Y/N said while floating beside the slightly annoyed girl. "You and me getting along, swimming, having fun."
"Who said I was having fun and who said we're getting along?" Alicia shot back, causing Y/N to raise her eyebrows slightly.
"Geez," She said while floating away from the girl slightly. "My mistake."
"The water does feel nice, though..." Alicia admitted.
Y/N smiled slightly. "Told you so," She then sighed before simply letting her body float throughout the pool. Alicia did the same, and the two remained in silence for awhile, just enjoying the pool.
As Y/N was minding her own business while floating past Alicia she watched as the younger girl stuck her hand out, splashing her with water. Y/N narrowed her eyes jokingly at the girl before splashing her back, causing Alicia to laugh slightly. Soon, they broke out into a full on splash war. The two girls laughed while splashing water on each other, each of them trying to create the biggest splashes possible. Eventually the splashing died down, and the two of them laughed slightly while staring at each other.
Neither girl had noticed how close they'd gotten while splashing each other, but now there was only a few inches between them. Y/N looked up at Alicia's face, their eyes locking in the process. Neither of them made a move to look away, and Y/N couldn't quite tell what the other girl was thinking.
Alicia suddenly cleared her throat, backing away slightly and breaking the eye contact before speaking. "We should head back now..." She said softly, causing it to almost come out as a whisper.
"Okay," Y/N nodded before abandoning her pool noodle and swimming toward the stairs in the shallow end. Alicia followed behind the girl, and Y/N got out of the pool while picking up her towel. She then realized Alicia's clothes were soaked and that she also didn't have a towel. "Here, you can have this," She said while turning to face Alicia, doing everything in her power to only look at the girl's face.
Alicia smiled gratefully before taking the towel, moving to wrap her body with it. As she did that Y/N walked over to her shirt, shrugging slightly before looking up toward Alicia. As she did she realized Alicia was staring at her, only she wasn't looking at the bruise Chris had been staring at earlier. Instead she was looking slightly higher, causing Y/N to clear her throat slightly. As she did that Alicia's eyes quickly snapped up, a blush starting to spread across her cheeks. Y/N chose it ignore it and went to pull the shirt over her wet body, causing it to cling slightly to her.
"You ready?" The older girl asked Alicia while beginning to take a step toward the gate.
Alicia nodded slightly, though her eyes avoided Y/N's at all costs. "Uh, yeah."
Y/N nodded and the two started making their way back to the house in silence. It wasn't uncomfortable like usual, though. Y/N found herself enjoying the silent company of the younger girl, and Alicia felt the same toward her. It was nice to finally get along, even if Y/N knew it wouldn't last.
Once they got back to the house Alicia walked toward her room while Y/N walked toward Nick's. She pulled out a pair of his adidas sweatpants before ditching the soaked shorts she'd been wearing. After putting the sweat pants on she looked for a shirt, settling on one from their old high school.
After getting dressed Y/N looked out the window, noting the fact the sun was beginning to go down and that soon she'd have to sneak over to where Ofelia and her father were staying. She sighed slightly before going to walk outside, deciding that if she was on the roof when the time came it'd be easier to sneak away with no one noticing.
Y/N spent the next two hours looking out on the horizon like normal, just enjoying the silence of the night. She hadn't seen Alicia since their time in the pool and figured the girl was back to keeping her distance. Y/N started thinking about her time in the pool with the girl, causing herself to smile slightly. Her and Alicia hadn't gotten along in over two years, so actually enjoying each other's company was nice. She also started thinking about when they were close to each other, and how she couldn't quite shake the way she was undoubtedly attracted to the slightly younger girl. It felt wrong, but she just couldn't stop thinking about Alicia's body and the way her laugh caused her heart to flutter slightly. It was weird.
Y/N broke herself out of her thoughts, looking down at her watch and realizing it was time for her to go to Ofelia's. By now, if the plan had worked, they should have the soldier tied up. She slowly climbed down off the roof. She checked to make sure the coast was clear before heading off down the street.
Only she didn't notice that someone had started following closely behind her.
