《Devastation ○Finney Blake○》Hot chocolate

As me, Finn, Gwen, and Robin walk home we all talk about the annoyingly abundant amount of homework we got. "It was the first day but they couldn't cut us some slack??" Gwen groans. "I'll help you on it if you drop the subject you've been on recently." I tell her. She debates her options before answering, "hmm...Nope! I'll have Finney help me." She smirks. This slick girl.
"What subject?" Robin and Finn ask at the same time. "Nothing drop it." I respond quickly with rosey cheeks hoping no one noticed "Are you blushing (y/n)?" Finn asks me. Goddammit. "No, I'm just super cold. Fall weather is nice but cold." Yeahhh good lie (y/n)! "We should have hot chocolate!" Gwen shouts, "Yeah actually, that seems nice." I agree with her.
Once we arrive at my house I throw off my bag shove Gwen into the kitchen to help make hot chocolate. The boys just ignore us and sit on the couch watching tv. I Grab the milk and cocoa while Gwen gets the mugs and marshmallows. "How do you have everything to make this handy?" Gwen's asks "My mom makes me hot chocolate time to time." I tell her, "Aw how cute, you should do that for Finney. Maybe he'll fall in love!" She gushes.
I roll my eyes and warm up the milk. "Ignoring me now? How rude." She pouts as I finish the drinks. "Grab your mug you annoying child!" I laugh at her facial expression when I say that. She huffs but grabs hers and Robin's.
As I give Finney his mug he thanks me and scoots over so there's room for me next to him. I happily sit down and watch the show their watching. But frown as it changes to the news. ". " Finn turns off the tv before it finishes.
"How about we get some homework done?" He suggests. Robin slouched in his seat at the thought of doing school work. "Come on you babies!" He gets up to grab our bags. I shrug and grab mine and sit back down, while starting to find the worksheets we were given.
Two hours. We spent TWO HOURS doing the work for each class. I'm glad I got it done but wow. If this is only for the first day I'm going to fail. I get up from the couch to see Robin asleep drooling, Gwen struggling to do work, and Finn drawing a spaceship also done with his work.

I walk over to Gwen and laugh, she looks up at me with a frown. "Hey, you told me you didn't need my help!" I raise my hands. She rolls her eyes while saying, "Finney said I needed to learn to do it myself, when am I ever going to need to know the date Christopher Columbus arrived to America?!? It wasnt even America! It was an island near here!" She yells causing Robin to wake up with a jolt. I laugh at the effect she caused by yelling and put away my homework and bag. I grab everyone's empty mugs and wash those too while I'm at it. After about 30 minutes of us talking they all decide to go home.
"You guys walk home safe!" I tell them as they walk away. "We will! See you tomorrow!" Gwen yells back. I watch them leave then lock the door. Today has been, Exhausting.
I go upstairs and take a nice, warm shower.
I wash my hair and enjoy the warmth of the water. Once I finish I put on a sweater and some fluffy pants. After around an hour I decide to eat dinner.
"Let's see..I could have cereal, orr a bagel, orr leftovers from the other night?" I think outloud. "Yeah let's just go with a bagel, those are good." I conclude. As I warm up my bagel I turn the tv on to watch any random show. To my surprise it's the Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Oh boy. I grab my bagel and sit down, only to be traumatized as I look at the screen. What. The. Fuck. Am I watching?!? But I'm no pussy and I continued...
Never again. I'm never watching anything scary again. That was the worst hour of my life. I am officially done with life. As I rant in my head about my regrets on watching the movie I brush my teeth. Once I finish I lay down in bed, absolutely drained. As I fall into darkness and dream something feels off. But I shrug it off and go to bed.
"Get back here you useless kid!"
Someone yells behind me
But I keep running, trying to get faster with each step
All I can think about is running, away from the person chasing me
I try to scream or yell anything to attract attention of anyone
But nothing comes out, as if I'm mute
The man behind me just chuckles seeing my attempts and tackles me to the floor

As my head hits the ground
What, just happened. All morning as I get ready for school I can't shake off the dream I had, well more like a nightmare. I quickly eat my cereal and finish getting ready. I look at the time and see it's 7:20 and walk out of the house.
While walking down the road I see Finney and Gwen walking. Time for payback. I grab Gwen's sides and tickle her. "Hey! St-" but she's cut off by her own giggles. I stop and start walking with them. "Morning (y/n)" Finn says. "Morning, you guys ready for another boring day at school?" I ask, "no" Gwen murmurs while glaring at me. I just laugh and keep walking.
"Don't you have a baseball game soon Finney?" I question remembering he told me about it a while ago. "Oh yeah! It's actually today, are you coming?" He asks me. "Of couse! I'm gonna be your number one supporter!" I tell him, "(y/n) and Finney sittin' in a tree..." Gwen quietly starts and I smack her. "Ow!"
After we get to school we all go our separate ways to our first class. "Hey Donna!" I call out to her, "Hey (y/n)." She gives me a fake smile. "You okay?" I ask her curious to why she was acting like that. "Yeah I'm fine. I just have one thing I'd like for you to do." She tells me, "oh sure, what's that?" "Stay away from Finney." She glares at me. "What why? Did I do something?" She just rolls her eyes and looks forward. Girl, if you don't answer how am I supposed to know??
After that weird class with Donna I go onto second with Finney. "Was math better today?" He asks me with a smile, "No." He laughs at my responce. "Donna looked like she wanted me dead and wouldn't tell me why." I grumbled, "Oh, that's weird. Aren't you two pretty close?" He asks as we sit down together. "That's what I thought but now she like hates me?" I rant "And I'm stuck sitting next to her, unless she begs the teacher to switch us." Finn just nods while listening. As I finish the teacher walks into the classroom.
☆Time Skip☆
After finishing long boring day of school we went Finn's baseball game. Which has been pretty interesting since its been a close game. It's the last inning and Finn's pitching.
"Come on Finney!" Gwen shouts, "Let's go Finn!" I shout with her. He throws it and it's a Strike! "Yes Finney!" Me and Gwen both shout. Finn gets ready to throw again, and it's another Strike! The game is so close, we could win it. Finn gets ready for the last time, the batter looks pissed.
Oddly enough I see Finney look in our direction right before he throws it. But to our demise the batter hits it and wins the game, getting a homerun. "Aw man, we almost had it too!" I sigh "I know! So close" Gwen agrees
We walk home together and Finney tells us he's gonna go back to the field to test his rocketship. Me and Gwen both say bye and go to my house. "Soooo, you saw Finney look at you before he pitched?" She asks me with a smirk. "Would have been hotter if he won the game," I shrug in honesty. "PAUSE, technically you just called him hot!" She beams. "Maybe I did? Maybe I didn't?" I tell her, we giggle while watching tv. We end up doing our homework while talking about random things until it's 6 pm.
"I have to go (y/n), don't want my dad to be mad at me for being away so long." She tells me. "That's fine, want me to walk you home?" I ask her politely, "No, I should be fine. I'll see you tomorrow!" She calls as she walks out of the house. "See you!" I call back
I turn off the tv and put away the snacks we had out. I almost walk upstairs but the house phone rings. "Hello?" I ask, "Hi (y/n), I just wanted to check in. How's everything been?" My mom asks. "Pretty good," I laugh "I just had Gwen over." I tell her, "That's good. My job called, said I might have to stay longer down here." She sighs "But I trust everything will be fine there." "Yeah dont worry, I have enough money to last." I tell her. "There's always extra in the cabinet. I'll leave you to it (y/n), be safe! I love you." She tells me "love you too mom!" I say before the line cuts off.
I go upstairs and get into my pj's. As I lay down and turn off the lights. I quickly fall asleep hoping I won't wake up to another nightmare

8 206The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.

The story follows Ronandt, a young nobleman who, despite his noble origins, has never met his parents. Except for maybe at the time of his birth. Disclaimer: This novel is clearly tagged gore, and this within reason, so please keep that in mind while reading. Though the early chapter suggest that this novel is slice of life one, especially in the first 40 chapters, it must be clarified that this novel is first and foremost a progression fantasy tagged gore and grimdark.
