《Blackstone Inc. (Book 1)》Part 41

I had my fair share of drinks as I babbled on and on with Preston just listening.
He was attentive and funny, himself. He laughed at some of the things I said and he had the most beautiful smile, all the Blackstones did, of course.
And at the thought of a certain Blackstone, my mood began to sour and I couldn't let that happen.
"Take me home, Daddy, and make me yours," I heard myself say. It sounded foreign and needy. I hadn't realized that it even slipped out from my parted lips.
Tonight turned into something I never would've expected and I needed a distraction.
"Not tonight, Kitten. You're intoxicated and I need you at peak condition before I have my way with you."
I turned to him and I would've dropped to my knees right there in front of God and everyone for him if the world wasn't slightly off-axis.
"Come back to my parents with me tomorrow. Dominic was going to come but I can't bear to look at him and they're expecting a man with me."
He smiled lightly, "Are you going to remember this conversation in the morning?"
"Yes, Daddy. I'm not that drunk. I only had a glass of champagne and, like...a few of these," I held up my glass and went to take a drink but he took the glass from me and pushed it out of reach.
"That's enough of that for tonight. I'll take you home, settle you in bed, and then I'll come to pick you up tomorrow morning at 8. How does that sound?"
I smiled and put an arm around his shoulder, "That sounds great, Daddy. I really like you, you're very pretty. Is everyone as pretty as you and Dominic?"

He chuckled and stood up from his stool, helping me from mine with an arm around my waist, "You mean my siblings? Yes, they all look like us. And thank you, Genevieve. I think you're very pretty, as well. Now, let's get you home and into something comfy, what do ya say?"
I giggled, "That sounds amazing."
I felt him help me through the crowd of people, but I couldn't be bothered to do anything but stumble.
"Where the fuck do you think you're taking her," I heard a voice say behind us and whoever it was sounded very mad.
"Home, Dom. She's drunk and someone needs to take care of her since you are out of the picture now."
"Genevieve, look at me," I looked at the man in front of me and my eyes widened.
"Sir? I...I...I think I'm drunk," I started giggling and the yawned.
I looked up at Preston and smiled a goofy smile, "Daddy, I'm tired."
He looked back down at me with a smile of his own, "I know, Kitten. I'm taking you home now."
"Kay," I smiled and let him usher us forward and out the door.
The warm humid air hit me in the face and took my breath away as he walked me to the black car waiting. I saw the flashing lights and all the people yelling, but closed my eyes and trusted the man beside me to get me safely into the car.
"Where to, angel," he asked as I laid my head on his shoulder.
"The Dallas Estates Apartments."
"Okay, love. We'll be there in a few moments. Why don't you get some rest and I'll let you know when we're there."
I yawned again and closed my eyes, "Okay, Daddy."

"Kitten? We're here?"
I hummed but continued laying on his shoulder, sleep not letting go of my hazy mind.
"Do you want me to carry you?" I heard the smirk in his voice but I couldn't be bothered to care. I felt drowsy, drunk, and in need of my bed.
"Yes, Daddy," I whined pitifully and in a moment of clarity, I felt like maybe there would be a moment tomorrow when I would regret my actions tonight but then that moment of clarity was gone and all I wanted was the smell of the man I had been cuddled against and his warmth and comfort.
I felt him scoop me up and edge me closer to the warm humid air outside the car.
"Which one is yours?"
I wrapped my arms around his neck and breathed in his cologne again, "Third floor, number six. Wait!"
I pulled away and tried to look into all of his eyes, "Did I get my bag?"
He chuckled as he walked into the elevator, "Yes, love. I grabbed it for you."
I smiled and laid my head down on his shoulder again before lightly patting his chest, "Thank you."
I felt his chest rumble as he lightly hummed with the tune in the elevator and then continued the tune as he stepped out into the hall and make his way to my door.
"Daddy has to put you down so he can open your door."
I grumbled, "No."
He hummed, but I felt my feet touch the ground with an arm still around my waist.
The door opened and he helped me inside. I heard him set my bag and keys on the counter as I stumbled my way to the bedroom.
I got to the bed and laid down on my side, head drowsy and on the cusp of sleep.
I heard a light chuckle and felt him take my heels off, "I'm going to help you out of this dress. Is that okay, Kitten?"
I hummed in acceptance and he rolled me into my back and pushed the straps down my shoulders and slid the dress off of me.
"Did you wear this for him?"
I opened my eyes groggily and looked down at my half-naked form. My nipples naked and hard in the cold air of my apartment, but my lower region clothed in the black lace thong and garter set.
"Yeah, but he didn't get to see it in person." I couldn't be bothered to feel immodest at the moment. All I cared about was sleep.
"I'll be back in the morning, Genevieve," he pulled the covers out from under my body and covered me up.
I heard his footsteps against my hardwood floor.
"You won't stay for a cuddle," I breathed out, not sure if he heard it or not. I longed for a pair of arms to hold me through the night.
"No, sweet girl. I'm trying to be respectful and it's taking almost everything I have not to kiss you. I'll see you in the morning. Sleep well."
He shut the door and then I heard the front door shut.
'So... Preston?'
Yeah, Preston.
I felt myself smile and slip into sleep.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
