《Blackstone Inc. (Book 1)》Part 10

I stared at him, wide-eyed, "Only 80 thousand? Jesus! Well, I guess you can buy almost anything you want if you're the CEO of a whole company."
"Can I tell you something," he asked, his voice a little huskier in the close quarters of the car.
I instinctively found myself leaning closer.
′Anything.′
"Of course," I said.
"That might seem like a lot but this is the least expensive car I own and I have four vehicles. Now, that might seem excessive but they all serve a different purpose," he said matter-of-factly.
"What's this one's purpose," I asked.
"Practicality. This one is less flashy and with a last name like mine, and my brother making a name for himself in the media, I really need to be careful about crowds and making a scene and such have you."
Normally, the fact that he and his family were so well-known that he needed a car that helped keep his identity under wraps wherever he went would make the average girl go crazy, but I wasn't average and I didn't care about his name or his families fame or his money. He worked hard for what he had and where he was and so would I.
I looked out the windshield and watched the city go by faster than it would have been if I were driving.
Finally, I found my voice again, "Of course, you need to be careful when going into public. You and your family lead very different lives from the rest of us. I mean, you must have a net worth of quite a bit, but I will too one day," I said proudly.
He took one hand off the wheel to hold the gear shift, mere inches away from my bare thigh, "Oh yeah? On a P.A.'s salary," he asked with a smirk.
I scoffed at him, "Hey, if you're thinking that I'm going to be a personal assistant for the rest of my life then you've got another thing coming. I'll be the CEO of a company before you know it.

Like you saw on my resume, I have three years of business under my belt. It may not be a lot, but there are quite a few great and successful people who didn't graduate from college--or even high school. Besides, I have plenty of time to get there. I'm only 22, so if I work hard and play my cards right then hopefully I'll be where you are when I'm your age."
He feigned a shocked expression, "You make me sound so old."
I flushed because while I was on my rant I hadn't even thought to filter my words, "I'm so sorry, Mr. Blackstone. I swear I didn't mean to offend you! I just meant that you must've worked very hard to get to where you are and you're still very young, especially young to be a CEO and--"
"--Dom or Sir."
I stop blabbering and stared at him with confusion written all over my face, I'm sure, "Huh?"
"It's Dom --or Dominic-- or Sir, not Mr. Blackstone. That's my fathers' name," he said with a glance at me.
I looked down and fidgeted with my fingernails, "Dariah and Jeremy call you Mr. Blackstone. I just feel like it's more professional."
'Why worry about being professional when you're constantly lusting after him?'
Because, at least, I'm lusting in my mind, not outright!
"Yes, but I want you to call me Dom. You are the person I'll be spending most of my time with from now on. I don't want to constantly hear 'Mr. Blackstone' from you. I want to hear 'Dom' or Dominic," he said and the command was there...it was subtle but it was there.
I admittedly enjoyed hearing that we'd be spending lots of time together, but of course, that's what this job was for.
"Would you like me to call you 'Dom' everywhere? Like around colleagues and clients," I asked, unsure of how appropriate it would be if we seemed too...'close'.

He looked down at me and smirked, "Around other professionals, I'd rather you called me Mr. Blackstone, but between the two of us, I'm Dom to you."
And I swear by the way his eyes darkened he had meant that two ways.
′I'm Dom to you.′
I repeated the words in my mind, playing around with the meaning. Was I looking too hard into this? Or did he simply just mean that his name between us would be Dom?
′We like the other one.′
I'd never played around with BDSM, but I had read a few books and I definitely knew that I was more submissive than anything. It definitely intrigued me, but that couldn't have been what he was talking about because he is my boss.
′He sure is the boss, he's Dom to you.′
I groaned.
"Everything ok, Genevieve," he asked, concern thick in his voice.
My eyes widened in horror as I realized that I had made that sound out loud.
Dear God, take me away.
"I'm fine, Dom. Sorry, just thinking," I said a little too fast.
He made a right turn with both hands but brought his right hand back down to the gear shift, his pinky brushing against my thigh before settling beside the others on the shifter.
"Penny for your thoughts," he asked with an inquisitive look.
′Tell him, he wants to know that you're thinking about him dominating you.′
Hush, you. I'll surely get fired for outright flirting and sexually harassing my boss. Not to mention all the names I'll be called for trying to 'climb the corporate ladder'.
"It's nothing, Sir. Just a little nervous about this business lunch," I lied. Hopefully, he couldn't tell.
We pulled up to a very luxurious looking restaurant and he killed the car before taking the keys out of the ignition and laying his hands in his lap.
"There's nothing to be nervous about, Genevieve. Just take lots of notes, but don't speak unless one of us says something to you, okay? He can be a bit much for some people. So, let's just let me do the talking," he said with a smile that had me dazzled.
"Yes, Sir," I breathe out, trapped in his gaze.
′Anything for you, Sir."
I'm surely going to get myself in trouble.
He waited a second more, his gaze locked in on mine before he blinked, "Okay, wait here," he got out of the car and straightened his suit jacket before walking around to my side, opening my door, and extending his hand for me to grab.
I took his hand and let him pull me up from out of the car and he squeezed my hand before giving me a reassuring smile.
Adjusting my skirt down my legs again, I followed after him and as we passed the valet I saw Dominic hand him the key.
"Welcome, Mr. Blackstone. Enjoy your meal," The valet boy said.
"Thank you, Andrew. I know I will," Dominic said without another glance at him.
I felt Andrew's eyes on me, taking in my figure as we walked past him into the restaurant.
The hostess at the podium looked from Dom to me, looked me up and down, and then turned her full attention back to him. What is with all of these women today?
"Good afternoon, Mr. Blackstone. Table for...two?" I saw her glare at me for a split second but it was gone again when she looked at him, awaiting his answer.
"No, table for 3, please. We are waiting for someone," he said apathetically as he checked his phone.
She smiled, visibly relieved it wouldn't be just Dominic and me alone.
′Bitch.′
"Right this way, please," the hostess stated, beckoning us to follow.
