《Cupid's Potion》Chapter 41: The Truth

Both of our bodies tense from the recognizable voice. We both turn around simultaneously and spot Amorette holding a gun at us.
"This bitch is crazy." I whisper to Saiki who nods while holding me a bit tighter against him.
I secretly place my hands behind my back and test if my powers came back as well. Feeling the small molecules form a few elements in my palm made a sense of relief wash over me.
"Now you two are going to be good little children and follow me." She threatens with the gun still aiming at us.
We couldn't risk any more injuries, were both beaten up quite badly but I knew with one simple knock of our powers she'd be unconscious.
"Alright we'll follow you, but please let me say goodbye to my father." She lowers her gun and nods in agreement.
These people are really idiotic aren't they?
I shake away my thoughts and pull Saiki by his hand towards the permanently frozen stature of Fran.
The tears in my eyes were all used for today and all I could do was stare at his once loved filled body all now hardened to stone.
"You know he really did love you," I felt a comforting hand place on top of my head and I look at Saiki with a small smile.
"I know, but I can't weep over this right now." I lower my tone slightly and explain my plan to Saiki telepathically while speaking a bit of nonsense at the same time so Amorette doesn't get any ideas.
Saiki simply nods his head, we both turn around and walk towards the Russian goddess.
She was filing her nails boringly but still had her gun tucked under her arm.
"We're ready." I say monotonously which causes Amorette to stop filing her nails.
"Since my boss doesn't die because he's immortal we will need to wait a few days for him to appear. In the meantime follow me, you both will be locked up in a cage for the time being." She turns around with her back facing us.
"Alright, but you forgot something," I form a small ball of ice and prepare to lightly hit her in the head.
"Oh really," She laughs. "What could I have possibly forgotten?" She kept walking ahead without batting an eyelash to our mischievous plan.
"When you capture someone make sure you tie them up first." I smirk as her figure quickly turns around but it was too late. The ball of ice that I formed with my powers knocks her on the head. With this one simple move her body slams itself onto the metal floor creating a loud bang that echoed for a few seconds.

"Three seconds, new record." I chuckle and grab the gun from her grasp.
Handing the gun to Saiki, he crushes it with his hand and lets it crumble to the ground.
"Cool we won!" I form my hand into a fist for a fist-pump. Saiki bumps his fist against mine and we both smile, well I did he just gave a timid smile.
"Um excuse me you two, would you mind helping me out?" A man with a brown suit floats down and lands in front of us.
"Apollo?" I question in shock, I could feel Saiki's warm hand secularly wrap around mind once again. I gently squeeze his as a way to say 'It's ok'.
"Thats me, but how do you two know me?" He questions.
"A few minutes ago you were trying to kill us. Do you not remember?" I explain stoically and he stiffens.
"My greatest apologies I don't seem to remember but I believe I was killed. I do remember some things like my past but I don't remember newly made events." He bows apologetically and stands right up.
"Again I'm very sorry, but I was hoping you could explain what happened to me before I died." He nervously chuckles. "You see I need something to jog my memory and usually people who have interacted with me before my death help a lot." He gives us a gentle smile, but his eyes roam around behind us and his eyes seem to spot something, I follow his line of sight and see that he spotted the statue of my father.
"Cupid?" Apollo walks towards my Fathers frozen figure.
"What happened to him?" He looks at Saiki and I for answers.
"You sort of impaled him with a knife which slowly made him into stone." Sadly explaining the situation I could see him stiffen at his past-life's actions.
"I did this? But how, I don't remember anything. He's my best friend, how could I have possibly killed him." Apollo falls to the floor and cradles his legs.
I couldn't comprehend the whole situation, which made me want to curl up in a ball right besides Apollo himself.
He doesn't seem to remember a thing but he knows how close him and dad were. I'm so confused, if only Fran wasn't dead....
"We don't know, but he didn't hate you. He tried to knock some sense into you but it obviously didn't work." I say dryly but he seems to take it offensively.
He stands up from his crouching position and glares right at me, "you seem to know a lot of what happened. So would you mind explaining who you are?" He puffs out his chest to seem intimidating but his attempt didn't faze us.

"My name is y/n, daughter of Francisco, or as you call him Cupid." I motion towards his statue and the light-brown eyes of Apollo immediately grew wider.
His body trembles slightly and he lets out a sigh of guilt. Realization sparks into his light brown eyes, the realization that he took away someone's loved one.
"I'm terribly sorry, it wasn't my intention to kill your father. I was being controlled by someone." He explains lightly. "Though I do take some of the blame. The only reason the man controlling me was able to control me in the first place was because I envied your father." He bows his head in shame.
My eyes widen in slight shock, how can a Greek god be controlled so easily. Yes he was envious but to be controlled by someone for this long is impressive.
Feeling a tap on my shoulder I look up to meet eyes with Apollo. "Not trying to intrude your thoughts but I think something is happening to Cupid." Apollo points towards Frans statue and there were slight visible cracks appearing.
"Wait, does this mean..." I was interrupted by a loud cracking sound of the stone breaking more each second. Few pebbles kept popping off one by one and then underneath all that stone was a slimmer of light beneath it.
Suddenly the light beams became wider and were now shooting out of the cracks. All of us cover our eyes from the blinding light that seemed to have shined over the entire building.
Feeling the light dimmer down, I hesitantly open my eyes. Turning my head towards the direction of Francisco's body, there seems to be a cloud of dust hovering where his paralyzed form stood.
The smoke slowly cleared away from the light breeze, the outline of the figure that was hidden in the cloud of dust appears clear to all of us.
"Fran....?" I question the anonymous figure that still wasn't that visible from the small cloud of dust. Instead the figure began walking straight towards us.
"Hello there!" Francisco appears happily in-front of us and my jaw dropped slightly, so did the others.
"To he honest I thought I was dead for real." Fran chuckles while patting away the dust from his outfit. He stretches a few of his sore muscles and grins brightly at us.
"You're a-alive?" I stutter.
"Come here and see for yourself!" He opens his arms and motions for me to come in for a hug.
I walk up to him, "idiot old man." I flick him on the forehead.
"Ow what was that for-" I interrupt his complaint and hug him tightly.
We stayed in a hug for a few seconds until I finally let go. I wipe away the few tears that secretly left my eye sockets.
"You're just full of surprises aren't you." I lightly punch him in the chest and smile brightly up at him.
He chuckles, "you know this feels like when I first confessed to being your father. You punched me and gave me a hug, your antics don't change do they?" He ruffles my head and I giggle while giving him a nod as a sign that my antics don't change.
"To be honest I thought I was going to die, but for some weird reason I was told not to so I didn't." He pats my head lightly and looks around.
His eyes scan the other two men and he realizes that Apollo is standing right in front of us. He slowly pushes me behind him and his now carefree state demolished.
"Y/n, run away if anything bad happens." He whispers under his breath, but before he could try anything I wave my arms frantically to stop him. He didn't seemed to care about my attempts to stop him, so I quickly rush in front of the man opposite from me.
"Wait, it's alright he's not bad anymore. He did kill you but we've figured it out, he was being controlled!" I stood in front of Apollo with my arms forming a protective 'fence' like position.
"By who?" Fran questions Apollo who only shrugs as a response.
"Alright, lets just get off of here and discuss this over cake or something." Fran rubs his temple in slight distress but it quickly leaves and his kind smile is back on his face.
We all agree but all of us grunt from the soreness overcoming all of or bodies. "Ugh." A groan calls out in front of us, turning around we face the source of the sound.
"Amorette." I walk towards her and prepare an interrogation inside my head.

LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER (Completed)
Lady Chatterley's Lover is a novel by D. H. Lawrence, first published privately in 1928 in Italy, and in 1929 in France and Australia. An unexpurgated edition was not published openly in the United Kingdom until 1960, when it was the subject of a watershed obscenity trial against the publisher Penguin Books. Penguin won the case, and quickly sold 3 million copies. The book was also banned for obscenity in the United States, Canada, Australia, India and Japan. The book soon became notorious for its story of the physical (and emotional) relationship between a working class man and an upper class woman, its explicit descriptions of sex, and its use of then-unprintable words.
