《Cupid's Potion》Chapter 27: Average strawberry

😂😂😅
I slowly walk behind the group of host. Kicking a rock in the process.
I'm not sure about this no more, what if my heart doesn't want Saiki? What if it decides not to be with its soulmate? I mean Fran is Cupid he wouldn't be wrong about this, would he?
I look up to see the group of rich boys up almost a block away from me. I could tell they aren't paying attention to their surroundings. Considering they're all bickering about which girl they will try to flatter.
I shake my head, I could hear them all from a block away? Although this is a great chance to chicken out.
I turn to a different corner which leads me to a small festival being held at a beautiful park.
At least I have a good excuse, I "accidentally" took a wrong turn. If they find me I'll use that.
I look around the festival from the entrance I entered in. It was mostly small huts filled with pastries and merchandise from stores.
Saiki would've loved the pastries.
I thought smiling to myself. I instantly frown once acknowledging my thought. Ignoring it I walk towards one of the huts that we're offering delicious caramel popcorn. (Sorry if you hate this popcorn 😅)
I pay the woman the amount needed and I walk around to see what the other small tents had to offer.
There wasn't much to satisfy my interest, so I just sat down placing my earphones on to listen to music. My bench was a bit far away but from the distance I could see all the couples holding hands. All the children laughing and the parents smiling lovingly to each other.
"I wish I could've met my mom." I whisper sadly.
"Maybe she could've helped with this boy trouble and give me advice." I smile at the heartwarming thought.

"Give advice to what?" I hear a stoic voice coming from in front of me.
"Oh hey Saiki, I didn't expect you to be here." I say looking down and lean my elbows on my knees, staring at the grass blades move softly with the wind.
"Neither did I." He says taking a seat on the other side of the bench.
I nod at his answer still looking down.
There's just this feeling that's holding me back from making a move. Maybe it's doubt?
"So, did you escape from the group again?" I question him with a weak chuckle.
"Yea, how did you know?" He questions me giving me a side glance.
"You always tend to do that when you see any type of pastry in display." This time I giggle at the fact.
"You noticed that?" He looks at me straight in the face this time.
"Yea, but I'm pretty sure everyone has noticed. You aren't really secretive when it comes to sweets." I laugh at his confused face.
"Everyone...?" This time it was a quiet reply even through telepathy.
"Is something wrong, I didn't mean to offend you I just-" I felt a strong tug on my wrist and next thing I know I was on top of a hill. I look around and spotted the festival but the distance grew and now we're very far from where we were.
I hear a sigh of relief coming from my right and see Saiki look unpleasantly happy.
"Are you finally going to kill me?" I say with some fear hidden in my vocals.
"What? No, I just sensed the group coming to the festival and I didn't want to see them." He says looking at ease now.
"So what made you think it was a good idea to take me with you?" I ask sarcastically. I wouldn't mind being with them, considering the only reason I ditched Tamaki and the others was to stay away from Saiki.

"You can teleport back if you want. I just thought you didn't want to see them either." He snaps back at me.
"No I can't, I can't even teleport or do half of the things you can do." I cross my arms sassily.
"I thought you were a psychic. So you should be able to do the same things I can do." He states bluntly.
"Well you're wrong, I wasn't born with all of those abilities you were gifted with. Neither was I gifted with beautiful family to support me but we can't have everything now can we." I retort quite loudly this time.
There was a moment of silence overlapping the sound of nature. I might have gone too far this time. What I said can't be rewinded, so we just sat there in awkward silence with the occasional breeze blowing through our hair.
"I didn't know that." I hear him say with a pinch of sympathy.
"It's fine, I snapped at you first, forgive me." I didn't question him to forgive me; nonetheless, the decision is up to him.
"Here, let me make it up to you. Do you want to go to the carnival? It's only a couple blocks away but I can teleport us there." He stands up and giving me a hand. I place my hand over his and he pulls me up gently.
"Is Saiki Kusuo asking me on a date?" I question smugly.
"It's not a date, it's more like an apology." He states turning around, but I could've sworn I saw a grin forming on his own face.
"If you say so." I giggle and place my hand on his shoulder.
"Lead the way super strawberry." Next thing I know where at the carnival.
"Why super strawberry?" He looks at me questionably.
"You're just not an average strawberry." I simply say and walk towards the entrance.
