《Hidden》Chapter 109

Zevar looked over the horizon with a fast beating heart. Black ashes flared through the sky as the reborn army marched towards the academy, red eyes glaring with hatred. The white dragon felt his heart soar with excitment for battle, a loud thundering roar echoing from his throat, the sound ripping though the sky. Many heads turned to look at the giant dragon, but was quickly returned to the battle as the reborns simultaneously cried out themselves.

Zevar launched himself out of the academy and straight over the wall that separated them from the dark army, his grey eyes shining as his claws extended out to capture an unsuspecting creature. A reborn screeched as the white dragons claws punctured the body and lifted up in the air, only to be thrown back down with a sick crunch a few seconds later.

With a huff of pride, Zevar turned around and headed back to the academy, where he would find the headmaster and begin the attack. It took mere seconds to reach the tall building with his flying speed, however descending the sky was still a bit difficult because of all of the humans and dragons crowding the ground below him. As soon as he managed to get all six legs safely planted on the ground, Zevar had his eyes open for the headmaster or any of his own previous companions.

Comet had perched himself on the edge of the wall and waited for his rider to appear, but when he saw the white dragon attacking the reborn army, heat flared up in his body. The silver dragon itched for a good fight against the growing army despite their front lines a good mile away. Yet as Zevar had completely shattered all the bones of a small reborn and began to fly back, Comet had felt something shift in the air.

There was a larger, more ferocious creature in the army that seemed more composed than its surrounding reborns. With a long alligator-like jaw filled with many dull and razor teeth, Latharius gave Comet a glare from his position in the large army, his jaw opening to release a call of attack. His surrounding army joined his call and began charging forward, causing dragons from the academy to fly over the wall and use their elemental breath to slow their approach.

Comet sighed, stretching his limbs before carefully standing on the top of the wall. The structure didn't leave him with much room to move for a dragon his size, but he managed to also launch himself off the edge and barrel towards the reborn army with blood boiling. The massive silver dragon opened his jaw and felt the magic flow straight through his neck, a swirl of black and white flame stream onto the reborns.

With the combo of dark and light magic used on the reborns, their body was instantly melted like acid had touched them. Some reborns however shook off the magic attack and swiped their claws up, attempting to reach the flying dragon. These reborns seemed to be stronger than normal, and as Comet closed his attack and prepared to turn around he saw that the army was very well organized. The reborns near the back and closer to Latharius had seemingly better defence and attributes, such as wings and spikes that would do much more damage than the reborns near the front.

Comet took special care in avoiding the reborns attacks, along with other incoming dragons that we're also attacking. The other scaly beasts seemed to realize that they had a high chance of colliding with each other, so they had to make sure to steer clear of one another. With one more loop, Comet had began to fly back to the academy, where he would pick up his awaiting rider and continue the fight. The plan was to get Zevar as close to Latharius as possible without reborns approaching, which would prove as a huge challenge.

Back at the academy, Noah could feel his heart pound in his head. He could feel the evil the reborns eminated from the other side of the wall, and after seeing one tower over his six foot stature, he knew that these things would only grow worse the more he saw.

David patted Noah's shoulder With reassurance, his bright blue eyes shining with determination. "Hey pal, try not to think about them too much, they will cloud you mind."

"Then what do I think about?" Noah retorted. David glanced over at Peter who was currently struggling to mount Joel.

"Someone you love." And with those words, David had swiftly climbed his blue feathered mount and took off above the wall. Peter was close to follow, giving one last smile to Noah before climbing the air on the back of his dragon. The dark haired male sighed, looking over to where his black scaled mount Spirit was waiting for him. She was awfully silent since the first day he found her, but her silence spoke volumes, and the look in her eye only have Noah more confidence.

"You know what girl? I do think I love someone." Noah smiled to himself, knowing fully that his dragon knew who he was talking about. She may have sacrificed herself to awaken the white dragon, but deep down Noah knew his feeling would never change for her. She was the one to change his way of life, she has changed him completely. Spirit hummed, leaning her chest down so her rider could mount her easier. Noah caught a glimpse of Jasmine flying though the sky above, electricity trialling behind her dragon in an aerial display.

The black dragon bursted up into the air, the rage of war immediately hitting them full on the face. A dragon had nearly collided with them, only narrowly turning at the last second. Mages were now mounting dragons and using their elements from the safety of their dragons to attack, and it seemed to be working as dying cries of reborns echoed though the air. Spirit opened her mouth and shot a quick blast of dark magic ata reborn, the attack hitting the creature and blasting it into the air, where another dragon easily caught it and chomped it's head off.

The headmaster had found a way to make his way to mount Comet and was now also in the battle, sending beams of either dark or light magic or maybe even both at the enemy. He also tried to prevent as many casualties as possible by getting Comet to catch the injured and fly them back to the academy. The plan sounded good in his head, but as Comet made one more loop around the building, headmaster heart dropped.

She had been given the most suffering a rider could bear, watching her dragon die causing her pain. Ashley had been chained by her legs and wrists to prevent her from ending her own life, but they didn't know what it was like to lose part of their soul. Whispers from the dark were in her mind constantly, keeping her up whenever she tried to sleep and basically sending waves of pain though her body. If It wasn't for the offer she was granted, she would have gone insane.

"You have lost something great to you, and yet you have to live with that loss. What gives them the right to do this to you?" The voice asked. Although similar to the whispers, this voice was clearer, deeper, and more soothing then the others. She couldn't speak anymore, not properly anyways, for Ashley had screamed her throat raw many days ago, and if seemed as if her body refused to heal itself. Yet despite her lack of anwser, the voice seemed to know what she wanted to say.

"I have a proposition, one that will allow you to become stronger and avenge your dragon. You have to devote your entire being to me, and in return I will grant you freedom and justice." The offer seemed to be too perfect to Ashley, and she desperately wanted to accept, so in her mind she screamed out to seal the deal.

The voice let out a chuckle, and Ashley felt her heart quicken as power began to flow crazily though her body. She felt otherworldly powerful, and with a gentle yank of her wrist she had broken though the ancient metal that once held her. Breaking all her other shackles, Ashley landed on the ground and smiled, her sanity slowly slipping from her.

It was awful for her at first, but that's when she heard her.

"It's good to finally see you again, my dear rider." Ashely's dragon spoke. The pink and purple haired girl smiled, wet years welling up in her eyes. She knew she was dying, but that didn't matter anymore. "Come, I have missed you."

And with those words, Ashley was gone, her mind and body now belonging to a reborn. The girls previously small body hand grown exponentially, black bat-like wings spreading from her back, along with two tails and pitch black horns. The human body that once remained had now transformed into one of evil, and with the transformation completed, it was time to attack.

The reborn didn't seem to know the limits of its strength, pounding doors and walls open to escape the catacombs that once held it prisoner. This reborn had easily made its way up the vaults and back to the surface, where many humans were running like chickens. Ashley didn't wait, a command ringing in her head to kill all that she saw, so she complied, sending her class down to easily destroy the floor. The reborn let out a loud screech as it began running wild in the halls, the red blood thirsty eyes searching for any kind of victim.

Nearly outside now, The reborn had spotted an unsuspecting rider and easily managed to tear them apart. A dragon in the sky had dropped dead and crashed into the academy; sending debris down with it. Ashley had let out a victorious call, spreading her wyvern-like wings out to fly. It took a few seconds before she managed to master flying, but when she spotted a nearby human running on the ground she allowed herself to snatch them up and eat them as quick meal.

Zevar had taken notice to the abnormally large reborn and was gliding straight for it. The hellish creature took him as a challange, snapping it's jaws to intimidate the white beast as best it could, but Zevar knew better than to fall for such a trick. The white dragon had easily swept the reborn off its feel, and while it was still recovering he took the chance to land a damaging blow on its claws.

The reborn hissed, launching itself over the wall and heading straight to Latharius, who in turn knew would be safe. Zevar growled, annoyed that the reborn escaped. The white dragon was fast to follow, but then the dragon had seen the real numbers or the two armies, and by the looks of it, it's seemed like his was losing.
