《Hidden》Chapter 107

The cave was indeed dark at first, there was no light to lead the way, so they all agreed to follow the right side of the cave system unless otherwise said.
Emma was leading the group, and as soon as she stepped foot in the cave she felt her heart begin to pound. Her mind was racing to figure out what the price would be to awaken the white dragon, but the deep rumbling sounds within the mountain kept her off the thought. Their steps were quiet yet clumsy, for the small pebbles would clink together and make popping noises, not to mention the intensity of the heat seemed to grow the further they went on.
"Peter," Emma called to the male who responded with a hum, "can I ask you to brighten up the tunnel with your fire?"
"That's not a good idea, the natural gas in here will blow up as soon as it's ignited." David spoke up. Emma smelt the air and immediately knew what the water mage was talking about, the scent of rotten eggs was faint, but noticible with a big whiff of air.
"Oh, so any other idea?" The brunette asked. There was a moment of silence before a soft blue light appeared in David's hand, it was water, glowing water.
"It's a combination of my healing magic and water magic, so it can get exausing to use after a long time." David said with a gentle smile. Emma nodded, patting him on the back as he took the lead. Now able to see their way, they continued with hushed whispers.
"Jasmine, what do you plan to do after this?" Peter asked.
"I plan to take a well-earned vacation with my dragon on the beach, that or in going to travel to the next continent over and see what it's like there." She explained her plan as if it was destiny, "I'd like to make sure all of you guys are with me of course."
"Awww, Jasmine~!" Peter squealed. The two giggled as they avoided tripping on any rocks, although Peter seemed to stumble on quiet a few.
"Peter, if I may, what your plan?" Noah, from out of the dark asked.
The fire mage took a second before replying. He had never actually thought of this before, for he thought my now he would be with David, but it was now uncertain what he would do now. "I think...well, as long as i'm with my friends I'll be fine."
"Oh," Was all Noah said, "what about you, Emma?"
The girl flinched at the question, although she had a life plan before, she wasn't too sure it was going to work out as smoothly as it used to. "Me? Well I may continue working under the headmaster and become a teacher of some sort, although it may be a difficult path."
"That would be nice, so you're going to teach kids I suppose. Will you have kids too?" Noah's question make David snort with laughter, and Emma had a red flushed face. Peter and Jasmine were giggling like preschoolers while Noah stood in a confused manner, twirling his fingers together.

"A small demon that looks like me? No thanks!" Emma chuckled and this time, everyone joined her. It felt good to share a carefree moment with all her friends for once, it held a relaxing feeling inside them all. Emma closed her eyes as she continued to walk, focusing on this pull she was feeling. That's when she got an urge to look up, seizing her walking. The others also stopped, looking at the girl in mixed confusion.
"David, can you put the light away for a second?" She asked. The male did as she asked, standing in the dark with everyone as they waited. The darkness was almost suffocating, but just as David was about to create another glowing water ball, small lights began to twinkle between them. The cavern walls were beginning to glow in blue and green shades, lighting up the whole tunnel as they stared in awe.
It was then that little golden glowing bugs gracefully bounced though the cave, giving dances to those who watches them. The five stared in awe as the world changed around them, showing them secrets they would have never seen.
"This is amazing...." Jasmine said as she held out a hand. Surely enough one of the small bugs had danced its way gently into the electric mages finger, sending a tingle down her hand and arm. With a shiver she retracted her hand and looked to Emma, who was moving ahead to take the lead now.
"We must keep going, The dragons are waiting." She said as she narrowly avoided tripping on one of the rocks below. Continuing to follow everyone examined the cavern and walk at the same time, trying to keep up pace as Emma set a new speed. The pulling was now desperate, and she could tell that they were close.
The chambers warm air was quickly replaced by crisp cool air, and the quality was no longer suffocating. Almost immediately after The change in temperature there was a change in surrounding. The walls had stretched wider than reach and made a large cavern where large bio-luminescent orbs hung by moss, casting a soft golden and blue light across the whole area. In the room the walls were covered with images of dragons of all shapes and sizes working together with humans, along with magic being thrown into the mix. It almost seemed like a perfect world.
On the surface of the cavern was a large amount of blue glowing water creating a shallow pond that casted an ancient feeling on the whole area. But that was not what caught Emma's eye, it was the large dragon statute that lied within the pond of water. The dragon seemed to be sitting on its back legs with its front legs out to support its weight. As for the rest the feathered details on its four wings seemed to be right to the last atom, each curve and crevice being counted for. The dragon was large beyond most dragons, and it's four horns curved back in elegant dips and turns. The spines on the back seemed to be razor sharp, yet the elegant and feminine feature of the dragon made it look less threatening.

Emma felt the urge to cry when she saw it, yet she didn't know why. Two streams of water poured out of the dragons closed eyes like tears, showering the waters with its sadness. This, Emma knew, was the dragon she was to awaken, yet how she didn't know yet.
"What is this...it's so beautiful." Noah whispered. His voice travelled though the cavern loudly.
"Guys, I'm sorry for lying to you about the weapon, but there is a cost to awaken this dragon." Emma began. She turned to her friends, looking at each of them with a sorrowful gaze. There was a feeling in her heart, one that told her that the journey was over.
"You're saying that this dragon is they key? But how?" Jasmine had asked.
"I don't know, it's just a feeling I get." She replied.
"And what else are you feeling, Emma?" Peter asked. He seemed to understand why, for secrets were sometimes the only way to keep others safe, but they were dangerous.
"That it's time to say goodbye."
Emma didn't wait for answers, she stepped into the shallow water and began making her way to the sleeping dragon. As for the others, they too wanted to follow, but something was stopping them, it kept them from moving forward into the glowing water. Clattering stones made them all look back to the entrance, and there stood a reborn, the veins under its skin throbbing and pulsating with each heart beat. Its eyes seemed to be shining as it looked at the others, but it quickly spotted Emma and began to charge.
It leaped across the floor, bounding towards everyone like a cat chasing a mouse. Emma spun back towards the dragon and began to run towards it, her own eyes shining in the dark. It was a race to see who would get what first, and it seemed as if the reborn was winning. It leaped over the mages whilst avoiding their attacks, baring its theeth as it now was only a few leaps away from the grey eyes girl.
Wherever the reborn stepped, the water would turn black, tainting the purness of the liquid. The girl was only inches away from grasping the dragon, but the reborn was close to snapping its jaws around her neck.
With one bite....
Emma had narrowly ducked under the creature, pushing herself towards the dragon and clashing her hand against the warm and rocky surface. A bright light emmited from where the statue was touched, and the rock began to fall off it's form.
Everyone was forced to look away from the blinding light, protecting their eyes with their hands. The reborn was instantly disintegrated into small particles, the only remains of its physical body. Emma felt herself getting lighter, and despite the light she felt her mind fading into the dark. Her body became lighter, and it was at that moment she disappeared.
When the light was gone, Noah had searched for the girl that once stood in front of him, but in her replacement he saw a massive white dragon. It's golden horns shone in the light of the cave, along with the larger plates along its belly. Sharp points curved back along the dragons back, and the dragon had two pairs of pure white feathered wings protruding from its back.
Curiously, the dragon lowered its head to look at the humans faces with its large eyes. It seemed to have to eyes on each side of its head, all of them silver in colour, like Emma's. David was the one to move first, reaching his hand out to the dragon. The beast closed the distance, closing it's eyes and putting as I touched him.
"Friend."
The voice was familliar, and it was then David knew where Emma was now, she was one with this dragon, she would end all the chaos.
Emma, no, the dragon eventually pulled away and let out a deep yet high screech, expanding its wings and turning it's head to the side. It then opened its jaw and released a white beam of energy against the wall, blowing a hole to the outside world. The whole mountain seemed to shake, and debris fell from the ceiling of the cavern, but the dragon had used its wing to protect the small humans beside it.
The dragon knew these people, although from where it didn't know. It had remembered waking up from its slumber to cleanse the world once more, so that must have ment that the chosen had awakened it. So these humans must have been the companions of them. Their friends.
After a hole had been made in the side of the mountian the dragon had begun to walk out, only giving a small glance to the four humans before exiting its resting place for the past thousand years.
When the dragon took its first step outside, many feelings washed over it. Familiarity, sorrow, joy, and the withering emotion the reborns spread a though the lanf, fear. Dragons of diffrent colours appeared beside the white dragon, a silver dragon nearly beating its height. All four dragons bowed to the protector.
"David, what do we call the dragon?" The white beast looked back to investigate the voices, and was surprised to see that the humans had kept pace with it.
"It's still Emma, she's still there, I know she is." The male with blue hair, David he was called, argued. His bright blue eyes looked up to the dragon with hope, although the creature didn't know what to do to fufill this boys wishes. A wriggling presence wedged its way though, speaking to the humans telepathically.
"Everyone, we need to talk."

Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder
I, Mick Chadwick, regret to inform my readers that this memoir contains nothing but the truth, which in the case of Tobias MacClain, most ridiculed as Pajama Boy, is far from pleasant. If you seek to relate to a hero more than to aspire to them and have the stomach for unpleasant things such as a hero left for dead, villainous scars, bomb threats, and murderous intent, then look no further. All of these gruesome things and more await from my research, and though I do not wish them on any man or woman, I cannot bear this burden on my own much longer. In the words of Tobias MacClain himself, "Sometimes, a villainous act can cause the greatest good." I hope that all my villainous acts of sneaking, blackmailing, diary-reading, and grave-digging, among others, will be redeemed as I present this complete and truthful memoir to the world, and with any luck, open eyes to the truth of what we call "villainy". Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder ********* MATURE FILTER IS FOR:- violence- graphic imagery (blood, burns, fairly dark headspaces)- cartoon depiction of burn scars for visual aid Despite graphics, Mick Chadwick's writing keeps Mr. MacClain's terrible tale light somehow. This is foremostly a comedy.

Makemake
"Makemake—a planet that is found in the far edges of the system known as Sol—was once a metropolis, like all of the other planets that populate the system. Now, like all of the others, it lies as a Sleeping City, forever dormant. No one lives there anymore—it has been vacant for years. In one of the massive cities that used to have a population that was in high numbers a sound could be heard. A distant sound. A beep, or a call, a message—whatever it was, it was an electronic noise. It echoed through the dust cloud filled landscape. The sound went on for a long time. It sat in a sea of quiet; no other noise rolled over the hills and bounced off the ground—only that noise. Only that beep."

Thomas the Brawler
Thomas doesn't remember what his last name was, before it became Bluebrim, a name belonging to another universe. He's also pretty sure he wasn't this stupid before he arrived, but what can you do, when a day that was supposed to begin with an interview to set your life back on track instead begins in a universe that makes no sense, with rules you can't begin to understand? Maybe he should have paid more attention to the avatar creation screen ... Content warnings: All of them. Seriously. Expect lots of blue screens to begin with. Don't expect a power-leveling fantasy, in which the lone hero beats up all the bad guys, and gets a harem of women. There's just a guy who treats character creation like an annoying series of pop-up advertisements, and the story is basically the ramifications of that. The main character has to learn to take the world he's found himself in seriously, and he'll learn the way most of us do, by doing it wrong first. This is, insofar as it is successful, a dark comedy fantasy. Also a bit of horror, particularly but not exclusively body horror. I'm pretty sure I've earned those Content Warning tags, so, uh, yeah. This is practice. Hopefully things improve as I go, and figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I make no guarantees things will ever get better. I've already made mistakes, I'll make more, and I'm happy to notice them each time I make them. You don't improve unless you fail. (On the plus side, it probably won't get much worse.) Feel free to point out anything you think I'm doing wrong; I don't promise to change anything, particularly if it's a matter of taste, but I am looking to improve, and figuring out what I need to improve goes faster if I don't have to try to figure it out myself. I've updated the earlier chapters for formatting, in the hope that it would make everything easier to read on mobile devices. Hopefully things work slightly better now, but please let me know if there are any issues anywhere.
