Emma immediately ran, only missing the creatures bite by an inch.

Its face dug in the dirt, mud filling its jaws as it recovered from the blow meant for the silver-eyed girl. Emma ran beside the creatures starved body, it's muscles almost showing the bone in between. Emma ran, but the monsters thundering steps followed close behind, catching up the the girl in only a few seconds.

It swatted her with its clawless human hands further up the path, causing her to gain a few scratches along her body. It was like a game of cat and mouse, only the mouse had no chance.

Emma shook as she tried to get up, and only managed to make a few steps forward before the creature stomped on her, crushing her to the ground. Saliva dropped around her from the creatures mouth, the same colour of its blood, and it seemed to be insane, only killing what moved.

Its black beast eyes scanned Emma, looking for something but only succeeding in catching some more prey. It cried out in frustration, a more deep, childish gurgle that settled in the back of its throat. Emma cried back, but it was more of a desperate cry of help.

"David!" She cried. "Jasmine! Peter! Help." Her voice died out as the creatures face inched closer to the girls neck, It's human-like hands pushing there way closer to the ground, squeezing the air out of Emma in the process.

She let out a breathless scream before she turned red, the lack of air suffocating her. All she wanted was to breath at that moment, all of her minds focus on the one simple task. The creature seemed to smile as its eyes flashed a deep red, and it opened it's jaw and revealed its rows of teeth.

It was about to bite her, and it would have succeeded, only a slice of water cut its neck and knocked it back, the force of the attack making the demonic creature fly back a few feet.

Emma's lungs expanded, her heart racing as it worked to move the oxygen-starved muscles and organs around her body. She was so focused on breathing that she hadn't realized David sending multple blades of water into the creature. His eyes were setting off a bright blue glow, a tint of green now noticible after the truth of his healing magic being revealed.

The creature whimpered, but not from The pain, but rather from its first experience of magic. It licked its lips, it's mind racing as it set its new target for the water mage. David continued to send blades of water at the creature, but it only seemed to absorb the attacks, leaving only small, irritating cuts.

David continued to send blades of now frozen water at the creature, making more blood seep out of the creatures body, and while he attacked the creature, he yanked Emma to her feet, and pushing her forward.

She stumbled but began to run, the bones in her body quickly mending as she ran, David summoned a wall of ice and prayed that it would hold of the creature for a few minutes, if not seconds. He took Emma's hand and ran with her, breathing heavily to let air into his lungs. His eyes still glowed blue, but not as wildly as before.

"Hurry!" He yelled, causing Emma to quicken her pace. She ran as fast as her legs could go, but she felt as if it wasn't fast enough.

A chilling scream filled the air, the sound almost like a choked in pain combined with a wolf's bowl. But Emma's blood froze as more screams ripped through the silence of the night, joining re call of death. Adrenaline pulsed through both of the students as they ran as fast as humanly possible.

They saw the edge of the forest, and Emma almost cried as they exited the forest. She continued to run but risked a look back to the forest.

She almost stopped in her tracks as she realized that the creatures were stalking the edge of the forest, but not daring to get any closer, one tried to set It's foot on the grass, this one had claws instead of human-like hands, but it immediately burned as soon as It's skin skimmed the ground. It let out a small cry of pain as its brothers shrouded its injured ally.

Their red eyes looked at the brunette the whole time, and she would have kept looking if it weren't for the feeling of David tugging on her hand.

"They stopped." Emma said loud enough so David could hear over his heavy breathing. He slowed down, but continued jogging with Emma until the reached the walls of the academy. He looked back with her, and the eyes of the creatures now looked like the little red flecks in there blood.

"Lets get inside, we don't know if they'll follow." He held onto Emma's hand, whether it was to lead of or to comfort her, it seemed to be a lifeline neither of them wanted to break. They got inside, and almost immediately whispers of worry filled Emma's ears from Peter and Jasmine as they scanned the two over for any injuries.

"Oh my God, are you two ok? We heard those freakish screams and ran in here, but we were scared shitless when we saw you two run out of that forest as pale as a ghost." Jasmine cried, Her voice quiet as to not aleart any nearby teachers, although David heavy breathing didn't help to keep their cover.

Emma nodded, wide-eyed as she recalled the creatures she saw on the forest, Jasmine had mentioned black creatures when she first arrived, had she been attacked by those demons?

"Jasmime," David began. His breathing had calmed, but it was filled with worry. "Your academy was attacked as well, but do you know from what?"

Jasmine nodded, and began to describe the glimpses she saw of the things that had destroyed her academy.

"They had long limbs, some where black some were red, but they All had the same thing in mind, bite, and kill the targets. They were all diffrent in a way, but they All had the same traits." Jasmine describe one creature that closely resembled the one Emma had saw only minutes ago.

"They never hesitated of waited, they knew what they were doing, and they never once doubted what their power." Jasmine was shaking at this point, and none could really blame her, those, things , came from hell itself, and they sure as heck were here to destroy everything.

"But the one that attaced Emma had paused, it even looked like it wasn't worth the energy." David argued, trying to keep his voice down. Jasmine shook her head.

"They never do that, maybe it thought that Emma wasn't worth it at the moment because it saw you. They go after the high magic users first, chop down the system and pick off the remains, that's how they did it to my academy, and yours, and maybe this ones next on their list!" Jasmine was getting frustrated at this point, and her voice was rising to an alarming level.

"Guys, this is not the place to be talking about this, we should find a place we know is safe. Away from the teachers." Emma began. Jasmine agreed a long with Peter and David nodded.

"Do we tell headmaster about this?" Peter asked, that question stumpped Emma, do they risk getting in trouble for a greater cause? Right when they were about to leave for an even more stressful situation?

"Ye-"

"No." Jasmine cut David off and shook her head. Her yellow eyes glowing with fury. "Once Emma and David get back, that's when we tell him, we can gather evidence while there gone no prove ourselves."

"So books basically?" Peter asked with slight disappointment, and the other three couldn't help but smile at his complaint, trying to rid of the previous gloom.

"Yes Peter, lots of book, that a until David and Emma get back from the trials of course, we expect you to win Mr. Water mage." Jasmine teased.

"Of course I will. If I can beat Peter in a staring contest, I'm sure I can win anything." David laughed, causing the dread from the conversation slowly be replaced by joy. They were still scared, shaking in fear, but it was time to have fun, and no demon was going to take that at the moment.

When they all stood in front of the doors leading to outside, back the dorm buildings outside, they all froze, they didn't know what was out there now, or if the demons would come out of the forest to finish them off, so they could never speak the truth and stop them, but that wouldn't let them stop them from there much needed sleep.

Emma was the one to step forward first, undeniably, she was scared, but she tucked the memories of the night that would surely scar her, into even darker corners of her mind that made the moonless night look like the sun.

Outside, the forest was once again singing with life, and Emma was unsure of what her just happened was just an illusion, but the ach in her bones were proof that she was just tossed fifteen feet by a monster from hell.

She confidently took steps toward the buildings, Jasmine soon beside her, David and Peter taking a separate path the the males dormitory. They waved good bye, and snuck into their rooms, carefully looking for the hellish monsters.

Emma collapsed in her bed, she only had an hour before the headmaster was going to collect both David and her for the long trip, so she stayed up, listening to Ashley soft snores as the brunette played games on her phone. But no matter what she tried, the thoughts of death and what had just happens haunted her, and clung to her would like a heavy weight.

An hour passed by quickly, and a soft knock was heard at her door. Emma grabbed her black suitcase and followed the headmaster into the males dormitory. He knocked on David's door and was greeted with one groaning David and Peter clung to his feet, begging for him not to go.

Emma stifled a laugh as headmaster gave them a knowing smirk. Peter was Eventually pryed off of David and the two students followed headmaster thought the academy halls.
