Waking up came easy that night.

It was only 3 A.M and Emma found that she couldn't go back to sleep. The shadows of her room seemed to nave around, but Every time her eyes focused on them, they dissipated.

Laying in bed, her hand lazily felt the night stand before her, searching for the lamp switch.

Once she got the light, the room glowed a gentle golden colour. She got up and got one of her books from the shelf. She was going to pick out one of the carefully decorated books until she remembered something.

It felt like only yesterday she was running down the halls to escape Mr.Draco, but it had almost been a month and the book they stole still hadn't been opened.

Sliding David's black book bag out from under her bed, she unhooked the golden clip and once again took out the black and red book inside.

The veins of the book seemed to have grown since the last time she saw them, and a red jewel had grown right in the center. Frowning, Emma tried to open the book, only to have a small gold lock stop her.

Fiddling with the lock, it had no let hole so the confusing lock had to be magically activated. But the question was, who's?

Emma's mind immediately thought to headmaster, he was the one in charge of these books, and it only made sense that he put the lock there.

Frowning, she put the book on her chest and say on the edge of her bed, thinking of a way to get headmasters magic to open the lock.

Hiding the book under her pillow, she grabbed another book from her shelf labled myths and prophecies.

Opening the book to a random page, she read the first few myths about dragons, and other mytical creatures.

'Dragons are the beginning, and the end of the world? What's that supposed to mean?' She thought.

Turning the page, the language was a diffrent language but seemed awfully familiar. The seemingly random curves of the strange language changed and morphed to english, making it readable.

But the thing was.

They all said the same thing.

One must be sacrificed. One must be sacrificed. One must be sacrificed. One must be sacrificed. One must be sacrificed. One must be sacrificed.

The words flashed back to there original form, and Emma sat there, stunned. Never before had the book ever said anything like that, so why now?

And why must someone die?

So many questions swirled in her head that it hurt. She put her fingers on her temples but it did nothing.

She tried taking a got shower, but all that did was make her body relax. But her head was gradually increasing in pain, so much so, she screamed into her pillow to try and help.

All that accomplished was waking up Ashley.

And boy did she look nuts without makeup.

"What are you screaming about at three in the morning?" She asked. Her voice was soft, and it shocked the brunette. She never knew Ashley could be this gentle.

"I'm sorry, it's just my head. I'll try to be quiet so you can go back to sleep." Emma replied. Ashley shook her head and extended her arms upwards, stretching.

"I'll help, but only this once." Ashley's hands began to glow a calming purple, Emma's head slowly relaxing. The questions in her mind were slowly being tucked away into the back of her mind.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome. Now go to sleep." Ashley demanded. Emma did as she was told and crawled into her grey bed, listening to the growing song of small birds that woke early in the winter morning.

Empty minded, she began to dream.

At the other dorm, David was reading one of his many books. He was casting some water spells when he accidently went a page to far and landed on a healing page.

It has been only a week since he had used his healing magic, but it felt like years he has actually used it fully. He assent ready to use that power yet, not because he was weak, but for more personal Reasons.

His mind wandered back to his past,

David's eyes opened to the absence of the morning sun.

Once the scent of morning Dee hit his nose, he ran outside and into the willows in bare feet, hoping he could get a glimpse of the beautiful sight the lake help in the early morning.

Being careful not to step on anything sharp, he made it just in time to the the sun rise, it's bright light reflecting off of the water.

Fireflies danced across the water and lit up and faded as the communicated with light. Daivd's bright blue eyes lit up to the sight, although he had seen the sight a few times, they somehow always became more beautiful each time.

He let out a sigh of contempt as he sat down, his bare feet once again slipping into the cool water of the lake. The normal Crystal blue water had turned into multiple shades of Orange and pink.

He took of his shirt and stood up, gracefully jumping into the water.

The water was darker then he expected, but his eyes seemed to pick up even the smallest things in the dark.

Little did he know, he swam right into a rock.

He quickly swam to the surface, rubbing his now sore nose. He took another gulp of air and swam down to the bottom of the lake. He saw a bright yellow fish, almost identical to the sunset and he followed it, taking a mental note that he had about a few more minutes of oxygen left.

The fish continued to swim until it was swallowed up into a large cave. David cocked his head and once again swam to the surface. He saw where he was and noticed that he made it to the other side of the lake. He looked back to see the side of willows he was always in and took another breath.

He dove back down and followed where the fish had gone.

The cave looked big enough to fit a small house in, so he cautiously swam into the cave, sticking as close to the top as he could.

He saw the yellow fish swim farther into the cave and joined a school of other different coloured fish, cascading light into the dark water.

He smiled and saw an air pocket and decided to have a look.

Above where the fish were he could notice that the cave went farther than he had expected, and continued to grow in length.

He was contemplating weather to go back or to give in into his curiosity, glancing down at the rainbow fish he made his decision.

He chose to give in to his curiosity.

He skipped on the wet floor of the cave, happy to finally decide against his mother for once.

"Hehe, I'm rebelling." He chuckled to himself. The shook his blue hair out of his face as he continued through the cavern.

The air in the cavern grew damp, more then the air back by the water. He enjoyed the feeling of water against his skin, and welcomed the feeling.

After a bit of walking, he noticed that blue crystals grew from the dark walls or the cave, and the farther he went in, the more they grew in numbers.

A numb tug grew in his forehead, and he instinctively followed the strange feeling, as dangerous as it seemed.

The farther he went deeper into the cave, the feeling in his forehead grew more painful, and he was beginning to grow concerned at the pain.

He was just about to turn around until he tripped over something fluffy.

He quickly scooted back and his eyes strained to let light into his eyes.

Laying by his feet was a blue, feathery creature, looking at him with identical blue eyes as as him. The two continued to state at each other until the creature yelped and hid behind one of the blue crystals.

David would have ran off but his thoughts were cut off but a larger dragon, stood in front of his only way out. This Dragon wasn't like the other, and had a deep blue colouring along with normal, scaly wings.

It's eyes glowed blue as it let out a roar.
