Harriet pov :

I was teaching stella how to do design with colored thread, I had my hair tied up into a messy bun, I was facing mom and my back was facing zayden, I was wearing chudidar( Indian dress )with long sleeves and deep back neck.

"wow this is easy. " stella said

"why aren't you speaking anything zay " mom asked him cause he is silent from past few minutes.

I turn around to see him, he was using his phone with full concentration, he didn't even listen to what mom said.

- what are you looking at..?

I text him, he looks up from his phone.

- nothing angel.

I kept quite and continued my work, after few minutes someone untied my bun, I turn around to see it was zayden.

what's wrong..? I give him a confused look but as usual he didn't reply.

"why did you do that..? " mom asked him

"angel looks pretty with free hair. " he said

I started coughing.

"oo angel haa " stella was teasing, my face had turned into red apple.

- what was that...? ( ◕ 益 ◕ )

zay - you look pretty with free hair.

he sent it along with laughing emoji, which means that's not the reason.

- tell me why did you do that. ?!

- you were distracting me so..!

- I was distracting you.. how?!

He sent my picture, in which my back was facing him, I was wearing blood red chudi and in contrast to that my skin was looking extra fair, iam I this fair..? deep back neck with dark color chudi was actually making my back look more fair. Only half of my face was visible in the picture.

- only half of my face is visible..? But how iam I distracting you..?

- looking at your back iam unable to pay concenterate on my game.

- oh..

I turn around giving him a playful smile.

"mom how is the design " I changed the topic, after few minutes I moved all my hair on one side of my neck.

zayden started coughing, iam really enjoying this.

- what was that now..?

me - what.. ?

- you are gonna pay for this..!

zayden went out leaving us four there...

After flying back to LA, we stayed there for another 2 days.

In these two days zayden was very busy with dad.

He went to company with dad and came home to late, I became more close to mom, I shared with her all my life experience, I also told her about my mom and her behavior. I also told her about birth mother.

She said me many comforting words.

Let go of past but don't forget the lessons it taught you..

I am lucky to have her as my mother-in-law.

I wasn't sleepy, even zayden was not sleeping, he was playing with my fingers, one thing he does - holding my hand and playing with my fingers.

"what are you dreaming about.. ? " he asked me

"uh.. nothing.! " I said

"c'mon tell me angel. " he asked again pulling me closer and wrapping his hand around me.

" I was thinking about my mom. " I said, he kept silent which means he wants me to continue " I have never seen her. "

"what..? " he asked in shock

"she isn't my birth mother zayden. Her sister is my birth mother. " zayden face turned into confused one, but I know he understood what I meant.

"You know she never cared about me, she always bullied me, I was living a life of maid until " I stopped and I looked into his blue eyes " I married you.. " his grip tightened around me. "iam lucky to get such good in-laws. Mom actually gave me that warmth which I was craving for since 20 years. she gave me mother's love. thank you. I know you didn't wanted to marry me but still you did.. " he didn't leave me to continue. "shh.. stop it now, past is past . Anyways you don't need anyone now, iam here, my parents are here for you, this is your family..! you will get all the love and care which you deserve. " he said kissing my forehead.

I snuggled closer to him holding his shirt tightly.

He kissed my hair and said " good night angel,..! "

"goodnight..! "

Next day we reached airport at 4. Alex and jannet were waiting for us. As soon as I saw jannet I stopped. What is gonna happen now.?

"what happened.?! " zayden asked

I didn't answer, I was just looking at her. Zayden also looked at her.

"come.. " he held my hand in his and started walking.

We were few meters away from them, jannet came running towards him , my grip on zayden hand tightened.

Without saying anything she jumped on him, hugging him.

what the hell.. !

"oh I missed you. " she said

He didn't reply anything.

"hey cutie " Alex came and gave me a side hug.

"hey." I replied.

Alex gaze moved towards mine and zayden's connected hand and he smiled at me.

Car was parked in front of us, Alex took the front seat, I don't want zayden to sit with jannet.

Before jannet could take the back seat, I hopped inside, Alex watched me through mirror and chuckled.

Jannet was taken aback from my actions but she choose to keep quite, wise..!

Entire ride alex was speaking continuously.

ah.. I missed him so much. Knowingly or unknowingly Alex has become important part of my life. I feel comfortable around him. He was always there for me whenever I needed him. Most importantly he has very good heart, that was proved when he said he is acting to date me so that zayden will realise about his feelings.

oh shit.! I don't know how will he react when I tell him about zayden's accident confession.

I expected zayden to speak about that topic again, but he didn't. Might be he wants some time.

"why are you looking at him like that..? " zayden whispered near my ear.

"aww look at him, he is so cute. " I said

"what.?! " zayden was shocked after listening to my answer, you should have seen his face.

"isn't he cute. " I asked again

"if you trying this to make me angry then congrats my mood is spoiled. " he said looking away.

So cute.!

I jerked his sleeve, he didn't turn.

oh..! he is angry huh..?

"zayden.. " my voice was low

no answer.!

"zayden..! " I called him again placing my hand on his.

"cutie, did you miss me. " Alex asked looking at me through mirror.

Zayden looked at me and then at Alex, he wrapped his hand around my shoulder pulling me closer to him.

"woah." alex was happy after seeing this, but one person was fuming with anger. It's none other than jannet, even she was observing zayden through mirror, when she saw zayden holding me, she just turned her head and looked outside.

"weren't you angry on me.? " I asked raising an eyebrow

"I should keep quite even if you tell some other guy is cute in front of me. " he asked

I smiled without replying.

"Dont try to act cute and tempt me.. " he said

Okay enough Harriet, he isn't joking, I just kept quite.

After reaching home, I was making coffee for everyone when jannet came inside kitchen

"you want something.? " I asked

"no nothing. " she said and stood next to me

"so how was the trip..? " she asked

"wonderful..! " I replied with a smile, she gave me a awkward smile

" You know me right Harriet.? " she asked

what question is this.?

"iam jannet barlow. I know you have become bit close to zayden doesn't mean he will like you leaving me. " she said

"he never said he liked you. " I replied

"oh... you learnt how to answer back. " she said clapping her hand once

"I also learnt how to protect what's mine. "I said giving her a confident smile.

"yours..!! " she started laughing " don't you remember zayden said he is attracted to me.. "

"so what..? he was attracted to you.. " I said stressing the word was..

"Zayden wants a good looking girl like me Harriet " her eyes turned red "don't come in between us. " she said

"Seriously, you have memory loss or something. iam his wife. you were the one who came in between. " I said

"Harriet stop this. just stay away from zayden, dont force me to do things which I don't want to try on you. "

"No you stay away from him cause this time i won't let you take him away from me. " I said

"atmosphere looks heated here. " another voice came and it was Alex

"huh nothing, she was telling about her trip " jannet said
