I wanted to know the route to cafeteria, so I asked a girl who was passing by.

"Excuse me, Could you tell me the way to cafeteria?" I asked waiting for her to answer me but the girl kept staring at me with her eyes wide open.

I waited and waited but she just stood in front of me like a statue.

"Um, Hello?!" I clear my throat, my voice held a sense of irritation.

She shook her head while her face turned crimson red, "Uh sorry! Take a right from library... " She completed the sentence with a bright smile laced on her face.

"Thanks!" I replied and strolled away from there.

What the hell is wrong with girls of this college dude? They keep staring at me as if I'm some candy.

I roll my eyes and ignore all the flirtrious glances and whispers I receive.

When I was passing by I was stopped by the impressive library. I took two steps backwards and peeked inside the library. It was vast and filled with silence. I quickly roam my eyes around the library to see countable people sitting inside reading books.

But one thing or should I say one book caught my attention and interest.

WUTHERING HEIGHTS.

The person who was reading this book was a girl and her face was completely hidden behind the book. A strange curiously stirred inside me because it's rare I find people with interest similar to mine. I angled my head a little left to take a peek at the person but she had her head buried inside the book. Suddenly she placed the book on table vertically and her forehead came in view. She loosely ran finger through her silky hair and tied it in the form of bun and used a pencil to keep the bun intact.

Picking up the book in her hand she titled it little lower and now her lowered eyes came into view.

I was observing every action of hers very keenly.

I. DON'T. KNOW. WHY!

Suddenly she heaved her eyelids to look at the large deco clock which was hung on the wall in front and for a second I felt breathless. My eyes peered at crazily fascinating eyes of one and only HARRIET GRANGER.

Her eyes looked more angelic and mesmerizing in real. I blinked my eyes whilst running finger through my hair. A small smile crept along my lips.

While the entire girls of her college are trying to impress me, she is here busy reading a novel.

Slipping my hand into my pocket, I look at her once more before walking away. At least we have one thing in common - books, we love reading books.

After getting myself a cold coffee , I was walking around in the corridor when Alex called me.

Alex is the only person I'm close with since childhood. He once saved my life from then on we are like brothers.

I was unable to breathe, my nostrils filled with water,I felt like someone is pulling me inside the water.

I tried moving my hands but it was making things worse, more and more water entered into my nose.

I could see my end coming, I'm going to drown now and die like this. I closed my eyes shut welcoming the darkness.

Just like an angel Alex came with a tube and helped me out of the water. After that incident both of us are always together, we are like brothers.

"Where were you man?I searched for you in the entire campus." he said throwing his hand around my shoulder.

" I went to cafeteria to have something."

While walking my eyes landed on the giant notice board hung majestically on the wall. I and Alex made our way towards the notice board. I had always wanted to get into this college through scholarship but this college gives full time scholarship to only one student and to my shock that wasn't me. My scores were best, well that's what I believed until I got to know that I didn't get seat in this college.

Anyways, my parents suggested that they will enroll me here but I rejected the offer and went to second best college with full time scholarship.

The board was filled with pictures of student who excelled in various department but was caught my attention was the picture of a girl on top...

"So she is the one because of whom you couldn't get into this college." Alex commented staring at the notice board.

Sighing, I slid my hands inside my pockets and turned to face him, "Yes and apparently she is my would be wife... "

Alex smirked for a second but then his eyes went wide, he slowly tilted his head to look at me with bewilderment swimming in his eyes, "She is what?!" He whisper yelled with one of his brow raised.

"My fiancee!"

"Woah! I mean Wow... "

I shake my head whilst rolling my eyes. This wasn't the reaction I expected. All he could say is woah...

And here I thought he might give me a big lecture about why I shouldn't marry so early.

"Are we going to meet her?" He asked

I stare at him with my eyes narrowed, "We? I never thought you will be asking me this question... "

Alex knows there is no way I would be meeting this girl.

"Okay just kidding... I can meet her right? You wait for me at parking lot. I will give a quick visit to my would be sister-in-law. " without waiting for my reply he turned around and started walking.

"You will find her at library. " I yelled and soon regretted.

Alex stopped in his track and turned around with a smirk laced on his face, "I never thought I will get this answer from you. "

"Whatever man! I'm waiting at parking lot "

As Zayden said Harriet was in library reading some novel I guess.

She is also interested in reading novels just like zayden.

"Hye!" I gushed plopping down next to her.

She jumped standing on her feet with one of her hand covering her mouth and another placed above her heart.

"Sorry did I scare you?! " I ask standing up, my voice was bit low cause we had already drawn almost everyone's attention in the library.

"God, I almost got an heart attack, " She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and batted her eyes.

Damn! Why did Zayden get this lucky. She has killer eyes and very sweet voice.

"Do I know you?" She asked quickly placing the book on the rack and taking bag in her hand, "We need to get out of here before librarian kicks us out" She pointed towards the desk where the librarian was watching us.

I just nodded and followed her outside.

The people around were looking at us as if they have seen some ghost.

Once we were out of library she turned around and asked,"So who are you?"

"Alex "

She blinked her eyes staring at me for good two seconds.

"Sorry? Which Alex? I think you've mistaken me with someone else. I don't know you." She stated while her roamed our surrounding with slight fear in it and then turned around to leave.

"Harriet, I'm Zayden Harley's best friend... " and that's when she stopped in her track.

I jogged to stand in front of her, "You weren't there at basket ball court so I thought I will give you a visit! "

"I don't like basket ball. " She said and then her eyes trained past me, a sudden terror sweeped her eyes. She fiddled with the book in her hand, "I - I need to go... Nice meeting you Alex " She gave me a tight smile and literally ran away from the place.

I looked behind and spotted basket ball players of this college coming my way.

Was she scared of them?
