Logan's POV

"Alexis!" I called loudly as I entered the pack house, slamming the door open.

Almost instantly, I heard her footsteps before seeing Alexis run down the stairs towards me along with my parents, the twins, beta, Chloe, Eva's grandfather and aunt, Sophie.

They all had worried expressions on their faces but right now, I really couldn't care less.

"Tell me Alexis, is there a possibility, even if only one percent that Eva would live again?" I asked frantically.

"What?" I heard my mother gasp but I didn't bother.

Alexis looked surprised and didn't utter a word, which agitated me.

"Answer me!" I roared impatiently.

"I...I...I'm not really sure." She stuttered.

"Yes or no?" I asked.

"Never have I heard of a Gumiho coming back to life before but in Eva's case it's possible." She replied.

"How so?" The twins asked in unison.

"Eva only grew eight tails from the nine so it's possible that the ninth gave her enough power to preserve a part of her soul and then bring her back." Alexis explained.

"But she was cremated." Jake stated, confusion evident in his voice.

"And Eva gets her strength from fire." Chloe answer Jake's hidden question.

"Why are you asking son? What happened?" My father asked.

"Her scent. When I went to where Maxwell wanted us to meet, I smelled her scent. It was so-" I started explaining but was cut short when my father yelled.

"You what?!" He roared.

"Er...I...uh.." I didn't know what to tell him. I wasn't even aware of my tongue slip.

"Why would you go meet Maxwell? Alone. Why didn't you tell us?" He asked, his tone showing anger.

"What was I supposed to tell you? That I'm going out to avenge my mate's death and that you should come endanger your life along with me?" I all but snapped at him.

"So you go to danger with your own legs?" He snapped back.

"Didn't you see dad, his pack attacked us. If we all went there to meet him, what were the rest going to do? Who was going to help protect the pack?" I reasoned out.

That seemed to have shut him up for a second.

"You still should've said something Logan. You're the alpha now and you have to be more responsible with your actions." He sighed.

I sighed too. "I know and I'm sorry, but I had nothing else to do. He sent me a note saying that we should meet where it all started. I don't know what he wanted but I knew that it was going to be his last day on this earth. The attack halted my going and when I was able to go he wasn't there and instead, Eva's scent was all over the place, like she was just there."

"Do you think she..." Chloe dragged off.

"I don't know." I replied with a deep sigh and shook my head.

"Alpha!" We all snapped our heads towards the door as Tom, one of our pack warriors ran towards us.

"Alpha, there was a sighting of a huge fire near our pack border." He announced frantically.

"Fire?" The twins asked in confusion.

I turned to my father only to see him share the same look as me. We didn't take long before we were sprinting out the pack house, towards the fire.

Please be Eva.

Please be Eva.

I prayed in my head as I shifted into my wolf along with my father. I noticed the rest were hot on our tails.

"What the..." Jake trailed as we shifted back. We were all standing infront of the blazing fire that was emerging from the ground. I noticed it as the underground room that I was held in ten years ago.

We saw a man emerging from the fire and run away. He was screaming in pain and was clutching his burnt arm.

"Isn't that Maxwell's beta?" I heard king Luther, Eva's grandfather ask.

"Yeah." The twins answered in a whisper, their eyes never leaving the angry fire.

"Don't tell me they where hiding here the whole time? How come we missed them?" Eva's aunt, Sophie asked.

Suddenly, we heard a loud, girl's scream come from under us. I immediately identified the all too familiar voice as Eva's.

"Logan! Go, now!" Alexis yelled.

"Wait! What do you mean go? He'll burn to death!" My mother yelled back.

"He's her mate, he'll be fine." Alexis replied.

"Can't Sophie do something to take this fire out?" My mother asked.

I didn't wait for them to continue arguing and sprinted towards the fire. It was hot, no doubt, but surprisingly it didn't burn me.

Sophie's control of air would just increase the flame so there was no point.

I descended the makeshift stairs until I landed in what seemed to be an underground house. They must've changed it.

The whole place was burning. The fire was eating all that was in its way and I saw a couple of bodies lying on the floor. I didn't know if they were dead or not and I really couldn't care less.

"Eva!" I called loudly as I slammed open every door I come across.

After the third door, I saw Eva standing in the middle of a room, her fire forming a shield around her body.

I noticed Maxwell sprawled on the floor, his body tattered with burnt cuts.

Damn Eva, you've reached a whole different level of anger.

Even though Maxwell seemed to be already dead, Eva wasn't calming down. I felt her, I knew she felt more afraid than angry.

"Eva." I called softly as I made my way to stand infront of her. I couldn't believe my eyes. She was here, right infront of me. I was scared to touch her, afraid that she might disappear.

Her eyes were glowing blue and I noticed a small crease between her eyebrows.

I reached with my hand and placed it on her rather very hot cheek. It burned my hand but my urge to touch and make sure that she really was here was bigger.

Almost instantly, the fire around Eva along with the rest of the flames started to cool down. Her tail calmed down and wasn't moving like a mad ox anymore while her eyes slowly returned back to their normal self.

She stared into my eyes for what seemed like forever and as I was about to open my mouth and say something, she hugged me.

Her grip on me was tight and I felt her shiver against my skin. I wrapped my arms around her, wanting to feel every inch of her. I wanted her as close to me as possible and never let her go.

"Logan." She croaked out as she held onto me tighter.

"I'm here baby. I'm here." I murmured into her hair as I stroked it gently.

Her grip loosened and her body was falling limp to the ground. Since she was in my arms, I helped support her body and picked her up bridal style.

"I'm here now babygirl."

***************

Eva and Logan are together again! For all of you who wanted Logan a happy ending.
