《My Alpha's Fairytale》Chapter 48

Logan's POV

I spat the mixture of blood and spit that formed in my mouth as I dropped the wolf I just killed to the ground.

My wolf, Rex and I were blinded by anger and Rex especially was going crazy without Eva.

'Can you guys take care of the rest, I have somewhere to go.' I told my pack members that were fighting with me through our mind link. We've killed a decent amount and only a little were left to fight.

'Where are you going Logan?' My father's worried voice echoed through my head.

'Not now dad.' I replied as I ran towards the woods.

When Maxwell's pack along with what's left of Drake's pack attacked us, I momentarily forgot about my so called meeting with Maxwell. Hopefully, he'll still be there so that I could kill him.

He must've ordered them to attack at the same time we were supposed to meet.

The absence of the alpha during a fight affects the warriors badly, even if they were the strongest there is and Maxwell was close to taking my pack down when I'm not there.

The nerve of that asshole.

I sprinted faster through the woods, forcing my legs to move as fast as possible to the lake where it all started.

As soon as I reached there, I was hit in the face with a scent I thought I'd never get to smell again.

I hit me in the face like a bomb making me fall to my knees.

"Eva." I whispered mostly to myself even though a part of me wished upon every star there is that Eva would somehow answer me.

After a while, confusion started settling inside of me.

How is her scent so strong like that? It's not possible that she was just here.

Unless..

With that small, tiny hope in mind, I started sprinting back to the pack house.

I need to talk to Alexis. Fast!

Eva's POV

I tiptoed in the dark as quietly as I could towards Maxwell's room.

With a deep breath, I slowly opened his bedroom door and peeked inside. He was snoring in his king sized bed, looking very weak and vulnerable.

I quietly entered the room and started tiptoeing again towards him.

He looked so peaceful sleeping there. I placed a hand on his chest and started leaning in closer, brining my lips inches away from his.

Our lips were about to touch when he suddenly opened his eyes, surprising me and making me stumble to the back. He, however, caught me by my arm before I fall.

"What are you doing sweetheart?" He asked sleepily.

"I-I had a bad dream and wanted to come sleep next to you." I answered. "Can I?"

He smiled at me and nodded.

"Of course you can." He said as he pulled me towards him, making me fall on the bed.

He repositioned us so that I was sleeping on my side while he spooned me from the back.

"Good night." He whispered against my neck then placed a kiss there.

"Good night." I whispered back.

Soon, Maxwell's breathing evened as he went back to dream land.

I tsked inwardly.

My first attempt to take my pearl back failed. That asshole just had to wake up!

I was overly surprised when I emerged from the water alive once more, but my surprised increased when I saw Maxwell sitting there.

I knew I couldn't just ignore his presence and run to where Logan was, plus, I needed my pearl so I had to think of something fast.

I acted like I don't remember who he was and most importantly, forgot who I was. He acted the way I wanted him too and took me back with him to where he and his men are currently staying.

And to my utter surprise, it was in the underground warehouse where Logan was kidnapped as a kid. They expanded it and made it look like an underground house with several rooms, a small makeshift kitchen and a bathroom with terrible plumbing.

I was seriously rethinking my decision and wanted nothing than to sprint back to Logan.

I missed him terribly, but every time I remember how close I am to getting my pearl, I take in a deep breath and shake whatever doubt I have in mind.

I felt Maxwell stir behind me and loosened his grip on me.

He fell to his back, freeing me from his hold. Maybe I should just tie him up to the bed.

Wait...I should tie him up to the bed!

With that thought in mind, I made my way out of the room and towards the kitchen where I remember seeing some rope.

I grabbed it then tiptoed back to Maxwell's room.

I stopped dead in my tracks when I entered his room, only to find the bed empty.

It didn't take me time to dwell on it before someone grabbed me tightly from the back. His grip was so tight, I felt like my bones where about to get crushed. His strong hold on my made the rope fall from my hands.

"You take me for a fool?" Maxwell roared from behind me, making me whimper as I titled my head away from his face.

"I-I d-don't know what y-you mean." I stuttered.

Maxwell let out a humor-less chuckle as he turned me to face him. He held onto my arms tightly, locking me in place.

I tried freeing myself but that only made his grip tighter.

"Listen you brat, I'm no fool, I might have believed you in the beginning but it take a liar to understand one." Maxwell sneered in my face as my attempts to escape continued.

"Stop it and listen to me!" Maxwell growled and pulled me to a halt.

His angry eyes pierced into mine. Just the sight of him angered me.

"Now, I don't know how you're alive right now but all I know is that you'll be a great pawn to rule over. You might even have another pearl inside of you and I'll be damned if I don't savour that opportunity. You do as I say exactly or you and that little family of yours will die sooner than scheduled."

If I was angry a while ago, then there's a blaze inside of me now. He thinks he can use me to hurt my family. I'd rather die before I help him.

I did the only thing I could do and took the chance to knee him where the sun doesn't shine.

Maxwell's grip on me loosened as he grunted in pain and fell to the ground.

I couldn't run away now, he was weak, if only temporarily and I can't just leave without my pearl.

I kicked him once again in the face and tried my best to place as much strength in my kick as possible. My attempt didn't go in vain when I heard something crack, and saw a lot of blood oozing out if his nose.

"You bitch!" Maxwell growled but I was quick to serve him another kick in the gut.

He curled on the ground in pain so I quickly grabbed the rope and started tieing him. He started fighting against my hold so I kicked him once again in between his legs. I didn't waste any time before I successfully tied his hands and legs.

My tieing wasn't that good but it bought me enough time to lean in and retrieve my pearl.

I placed a hand on his chest, closed my eyes and concentrated on the warmth and power of the pearl.

It left his body up his through then out his mouth directly to mine. It descended down my through to finally stop at its rightful place in my heart.

Almost instantly, warmth filled my body. I felt my last tale blaze behind me and my eyes must've changed now.

Maxwell growled loudly and ripped the rope apart. He was mad no doubt.

I was nailed in my place, unable to move for a second before I too, was mad and the fact that I have my pearl back made me believe that I can actually take him down.

I heard running footsteps running towards us, letting me know that Maxwell's men awoke from the noise he made.

"Damn." I muttered under my breath.

Maxwell smirked as we stood face to face, making me narrow my eyes at him dangerously.

All too soon, the door to Maxwell's room slammed opened. I heard multiple sneers when they saw our position. I turned to look at them and an inhumane growl when I saw Taylor standing at the very front.

"Leave. She's mine." Maxwell smirked.

He launched at me and upon reflex, I moved my hands infront of me. I felt heat leave my hands then heard something smash against the wall with a grunt.

I opened my closed eyes to see Maxwell hunched against the opposite wall with smoke leaving his stomach. The men were taken aback by what just happened but soon, they snapped out of it.

They turned their gazes from their alpha to me. Their faces contorted to that of anger before they ushered themselves to attack me.

I let my fire spread through my body and the all familiar fire shield surrounded my body. My tail moved angrily as I blazed with fire and I felt my eyes turn blue as they started glowing.

Assholes going down!

***************

Turns out Eva didn't really lose her memory!!

Now truthfully, this story is really coming to an end now. I'm not planning on expanding this even more than 50 chapters, unless of course I added an epilogue or two...depends.
