《My Alpha's Fairytale》Chapter 46

Logan's POV
Why did you do this to me Eva?
What did I ever do to deserve this?
How can you just leave me like that and go?
Why did you have to die? Why?
I was, to simply put it, devastated and was in denial. I couldn't accept the fact that she was gone, I wouldn't.
However, my tears have already accepted the truth as they ran down my face to fall on Eva's hair.
I still had her in my arms, holding her close to me.
I don't want to let her go, ever.
"Logan." I heard a familiar voice call.
I looked up to look at my father who was standing between the trees with a sad, pitiful look on his face.
"Yes?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
"Is she really..." He trailed off.
"Ah..yes." I said as a humor less chuckle escaped my lips. "She fell asleep while we were talking. I'll go put her in bed right now. Silly girl."
I held Eva tighter as I got up from my place on the ground and started making my way towards our house.
"Logan." My father called again as I passed by him, but I didn't look at him as I continued on my way.
"I'll put her to bed dad then we can talk about whatever pack business you have." I replied, dismissing him.
The next thing I know, he was standing in front of me, his hand coming in contact with my cheek. It stung for a moment but my tears cooled it down.
"Snap out of it Logan!" He yelled. "She's dead! Eva is dead!"
I snapped my eyes to glare at him as a low, dangerous growl escaped my lips.
"Eva is not dead. She's just sleeping for a bit and will open her eyes any time now." I sneered at him as I bared my teeth his way.

His gaze softened to one of pity, worry and sadness so I just ignored him and left.
As I reached the house, I noticed that my mom and the rest were standing at the door and as soon as they saw me, they ran towards me with tearful faces.
"Oh, my baby." My mother sobbed as she looked at Eva and started caressing her hair.
I could her several other sobs all around me.
"Why are you crying me?" I asked but she broke into more sobs which got me angry.
"Why the fuck are you crying mom?! Stop crying!" I growled as I stepped away from her.
"Please Logan. Don't do this." I heard my father say from behind me as he placed a hand on my shoulder.
I stepped out of his hold.
"Do what? Can't you see them? Can't you see what they're doing? Eva is not dead!"
More sobs echoed around us.
My mother stepped closer and cupped my face.
"Logan. She's gone. Eva is gone." She told me as she looked me straight in the eye.
It was as if a wall broke inside of me and the hard reality came crushing down on me.
I fell to my knees with Eva's now semi cold body still held against me.
"No. Please no." I murmured in her hair as tears continued their way down my face. "Please." I pleaded but to no avail.
Eva was dead.

"Are you okay Logan?" I heard Jack ask as he stepped into my room.
I was at Eva and mine's house.
I didn't reply and just kept looking out the windows.
Was I okay? I really didn't know the answer.
"It's over." He stated in a soft whisper as he came to sit next to me.

I closed my eyes and inhaled sharply when his words hit my ears. Another tear rolled down.
He was talking about Eva's cremation. I refused to go and stayed in the house.
I don't think I was going to be able to see her body burn right in front of me and not jump in the fire with her. And seeing her ashes fly with the wind would remove any last feeling in me that she was still here and I didn't want that.
"Logan please say something." He pleaded. "We're worried."
Again, I didn't answer. I didn't know what to say and honestly I didn't know if I had the energy to.
"I'll leave you now Logan, but I'll be coming back to check on you again." He said with a sigh when I didn't reply.
I heard his footsteps leave then heard the front door close.
My eyes snapped to my fist. I slowly opened my palm to reveal the crumbled paper I had that read:
'Where she was first reborn. At dawn.' -M
I knew that the M stood for Maxwell and for some reason he wanted to meet me.
His message, if read by anyone, wouldn't be easily understood, but I did.
I knew exactly what he meant but what I didn't know for sure was what he wanted. I, however, knew what I wanted. I was going to kill him, no, I'll make him beg for it. I'll make him pay for everything he's done and I'll make him pay for taking away my life.
****************
This is a shout out for everyone that have lost some dear to them. I support them fully and I hope they know that that person is in a better place.
