《My Alpha's Fairytale》Chapter 39

Eva's POV
I groaned as I started to gain back conciousness. The back of my head throbbed in pain and an annoying buzzing sound played itself over and over in my ears.
"Eva! Eva!" I heard a familiar voice call.
I opened my eyes slowly but all I was able to see was darkness.
I focused my vision and gasped from what I saw.
Just across from me was Logan caged in the middle of what seemed to be iron bars extending from the ceiling to the floor.
My senses came back to me and I forced my throbbing body to stand up and run towards him only to be pulled back to the wall, my wrists aching painfully.
I looked at my hands to find them clasped to silver chains that ware sticking out from the wall. Each hand held by a chain of its own.
I tried to tug at the chains with all my might but they wouldn't budge. The silver burned at my skin but I didn't give it any attention, and the buzzing in my head and ears was long forgotten.
"Eva, baby please calm down. You're going to hurt yourself." Logan pleaded as he held onto the bars infront of him but hiss back when the silver burned his skin.
I calmed down and hissed in pain too when the burning in my wrists caught up to me.
"Eva?" Logan called, his voice weak and sad.
"I'm okay. Are you okay Logan?" I asked as I felt a stray tear fall down my cheeks. "I missed you so much." I whispered, my voice breaking.
"I missed you too babygirl, so much." Logan replied back in a whisper as well.
"How did you end up here Eva? I thought my message reached you that I didn't want you to do anything reckless." Logan said after a while.
"I-I didn't. I was at home and.." I gasped as soon as I remembered what happened. "Taylor." I chocked out.
"What? What about Taylor?" Logan asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"He was the one that lured me into the woods. He was the one that hit me on the head." I said with wide eyes, not believing my own words.
Logan growled lowly and I could feel the anger and betrayal leave his body in waves.
"So that bastard is working with them." Logan sneered as he tried to break the bars surrounding him. However, all his attemps were to no avail.

"Calm down Logan. We have to think of something to get us out of-" My sentence was cut short with someone opening the door. Light from outside entered as well, illuminating one side of the room.
Logan and I were still kept in the dark.
A silhouette of a man entered but I couldn't make out his face properly.
He flicked on the lights and I squinted my eyes a little. When they were fully adjusted to the now brightly lit room, I looked up at the man smirking at the doorway.
There were other two men standing behind me now, both with bulky bodies and faces that were contorted into sneers.
"What a happy reunion right?" The man asked his voice raspy like he's been smoking ever since he was born. His voice sounded familiar and I knew that he was the one who spoke to me over the phone.
He was well built, standing about six foot long. His hair was black with several gray streaks running in between and if you looked closely, you could see the aging lines on his forehead and next to his eyes.
Logan growled loudly at him.
"Oh calm down alpha, you should thank me for bringing your mate here with you." The man said with a small smile as he emphasised the word alpha.
"What do you want from us? Let us go!" I demanded as I once again pulled at the chains holding me.
Maxwell tsked as he taunted his way towards me, with a smirk.
He bent down to my level and held my face in his hands.
"Don't touch her!" Logan growled and tried to break the bars once again.
Maxwell didn't give Logan a speck thought and kept his gaze on my face.
"They didn't lie when they said that you're eyes are beautiful." Maxwell said, his compliment making me feel sick.
"Now," He said as he stood to his feet and addressed both Logan and me. "You two want me to let you go right? Well, the answer is simple." He looked my way. "Give me your pearl and I'll leave you alone."
"Over my dead body." Logan sneered angrily, his canines replacing his human teeth.
"And why exactly would I do that?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "You don't deserve the powers of my pearl."

The end of my sentence was met with a hand coming in contact with my cheek, sending my face to the side.
Logan growled like I've never heard anyone growl before. It was so loud, I felt the earth shaking underneath me.
"I will take your pearl and become the strongest werewolf alive and neither you nor that mate of yours will stop me." The man sneered dangerously as he brought his face close to my ear.
I turned around to his direction and spat in his face, earning me another slap that made my cheek burn.
"That is for disrespecting me." The man spat as he stood up. He ushered with his head to his men and they walked towards him and handed him a black bag.
He took the bag and moved towards Logan who growled at him as he tried to break the bars but fail for the nth time.
"Now, I'll repeat again. You give me the pearl or I roughen your mate up a little?" The man asked as he got out what seemed to be a whip. However, it glistened under the light and I knew that it's covered in silver. It even had silver spikes protruding from it.
I felt my heart rate quicken and my body shake at the thought of Logan getting hurt.
"Eva don't!" Logan yelled.
Maxwell, raised the whip and I could hear it's sound as it slice through the air and made contact with Logan's body. It all happened so fast and in and matter of seconds, blood was seeping out of Logan's back. I saw him bite his lip in an attempt to hide his pain but I could clearly see it through his eyes.
My tears were now falling from my eyes like a waterfall.
"Please don't." I whimpered as Maxwell stroke once again.
"What's that? What did you say?" He asked as he cupped his ears as in to help him hear me.
"Please stop." I said louder.
"Oh, so you're going to give me the pearl?" Maxwell asked with raised eyebrows.
"Don't you even think about it Eva. We'll get out of this, I promise. Don't agree." Logan pleaded between ragged breaths.
"Shut up!" Maxwell yelled as he hit Logan once again to silence him, making me whimper again as I saw Logan fall on the ground, blood seeping from his body to the ground.
His eyes were sucked in and his face was pale and sweaty. His body was cut and bleeding from different places and he was having a hard time to maintain his ragged breaths.
"What do you say?!" Maxwell asked with a raised voice, obviously angry and fed up with all this.
I looked at Logan who pleaded me with his eyes to not agree. But how could I when he was suffering like that? How could I just sit there and do nothing while he gets hurt because of me.
"You're still not going to answer." Maxwell stated rather than asked. "Fine, your choice." He said as he let go of the whip and reached his hand inside the bag.
I sucked in a breath when he got out a big knife from the bag.
Without a second thought, he turned towards Logan and in one swift movement, swayed the knife towards him.
"I'll do it!" I yelled before the knife could come in contact with Logan's body. "I'll do it. I'll give you the pearl!"
"Eva no!" Logan yelled.
"Good choice." Maxwell said as he dropped the knife and strode towards me.
"Eva please baby, please don't. Don't give it to him. I'm fine I swear, I'm not hurt. Please Eva!" Logan pleaded as Maxwell bent down again and faced me.
"I'm sorry Logan." I whispered.
Maxwell brought his lips to mine and I could feel the heat in my heart make its way from my heart, up my throat, into my mouth then into Maxwell's.
I suddenly felt my body weaken and my vision getting blurry.
"Eva!" I heard Logan yell as someone hit him on the head, making him fall into unconsciousness and I soon followed.
**************
Maxwell took her pearl!!
Eva will now have only one month to live. What will Logan do?!
This story is coming to an end people. *sniff* *sniff* There are only a couple of chappies left and maybe an epilogue (still thinking about it.)
