《My BadBoy》Chapter 72: Zzz-ing Through Everything

"You sleep through anything huh?" Jackson said as I woke up in sprawled out in the backseat of his car.
I rubbed my eyes. What? "Was last night a -"
"Dream?," He cut me off. "But how could a dream feel so real baby"
I can tell he was trying to sound like his usual light hearted self but something was different.
"Jackson...what happened?" I asked hesitantly. This is when I noticed how tight his hands were gripping the staring wheel.
He sighed. "Around 3 A.M. this morning, one of your dad's scout found Aiden and Zara next door. I couldn't stay and help them because I had to get you dressed and away from that place ASAP"
How could I have not known this was happening? Am I that bad of a sleeper?..
"Did someone fire a gun?"
"There's other ways to hurt people Ashley, without weapons" There was an edge to his tone so I let it go. Knowing Jackson he's probably worried about his best friend and fighting with himself right now because he wants to turn back and get physical.
I looked down at my attire. Last time I checked, I fell asleep naked last night so I'm guessing Jackson dressed me. A small blush creeped up to my cheek. Yeah I know it silly -give me a break.
He's seen me naked before more than once...but still. I was wearing a yellow floral print dress. Honest I think he just grabbed the first thing from my suitcase because...well this was the first thing in my suitcase.
"Why didn't you wake me?" I asked already known the answer.
"You would've freaked out" He said matter-of-factly.
I grabbed my phone which was laying in my purse by my feet and opened the front camera.

Oof.
I looked a hot mess.
Minus the hot.
I dig in my purse again until I found a hair brush and tried to detangle my hair which I swear was straight last night before I went to sleep but now it's curly.
Beep.
A loud honk erupted from behind some older guy was flailing his arms around and yelling like a lunatic.
"It's a red light, " Jackson grumbled. "What does he want me to do?"
Wait why are we at a red light? Last time I checked we were in the middle of nowhere. I looked through the window.
A city.
"Jackson...how long have you been driving?"
"About six hours " he said casually.
Duck.
***
We arrived 30 minutes later at some fancy 5 star hotel.
"Jackson how are we able to even pay for this?"
He looked at me. "I'm rich"
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah but you can't use your credit card remember?" I walked around the penthouse in astonishment.
"The mafia has a lot of connections Ashley. This hotel owner owes your dad a lot of money. Word hasn't gone around that were on the run yet so you should be okay for at least 48 hours"
" You?" I stopped touching everything a stared at him.
He grabbed my shoulders. "You know I have to go back right? I have to make sure Aiden and Zara are okay"
"Jackson you drove six hours to get here and you're gonna drive another six back? You're amazing but you need to sleep"
"It's okay I don't need-"
I threw a pillow at his head.
It hit him.
I shook my head. " I wasn't asking"
Even his reflexes are out of whack.
"Ashley-"
"You know what I noticed?," I began. "You only call me Ashley when you're mad, annoyed or some form of upset with me"

"True," He admitted. "Your point?"
"You've been calling me Ashley ever since this trip started Jackson...and last night doesn't count"
He yawned and shrugged. "Sorry?"
I glared at him. "Get some sleep, you can have lunch when you wake up"
"Ash-" He stoped himself.
" Don't Jackson. Just rest please or are you gonna leave and get hurt when you're not a hundred percent yourself?"
He threw himself on the bed and curled up with one of the hundred pillows that were placed there.
Cute, I thought before heading to the bathroom to wash up.
