《The Badboy's Dorm》Chapter 3

It had been two days since Mason came home with blood dripping down his face. He said nothing to me. He made sure to ignore all my questions and worries. At one point he got tired of me asking and went out the front door. Of course, I chased after him. Only for him to juke me out and head back inside, locking the door behind him. He had locked me out of our apartment! It took thirty minutes of me banging on the door for him to open it. He let me in but left right after.
When he came back, the silent treatment had almost ended until I pissed him off again.
I sat on my bed and edited some pictures had recently taken during animation class. I realized that I wanted a bottle of water though that meant getting up from my bed. I noticed that Mason was sitting on the couch which was closest to the fridge.
"Hey, Mason, "I called. "Would you mind grabbing me a water from the fridge?"
Mason stood still in his place. Tapping away at his phone, eyes never leaving the screen. This meant he was still mad at me. Last night I came home to find another girl in the apartment. She looked me up and down as I entered the door, giving me the meanest glare I have ever saw.
"Can I help you," she questioned.
"Where's Mason?"
She scoffed, "Why do you want to know where my BOYFRIEND is?"
"Boyfriend," I chuckled. "Right, well I wanted to ask him what he wanted for dinner."
Her eyes narrowed and she began to stand up from the couch. I noticed that the girl was quite taller than me which she thought was intimidating. Good thing my brothers (who all towered over me) made it a point to teach me to never be intimidated by anyone.
"You need to leave," she screeched. My jaw dropped in shock. She was not telling me to leave my own apartment.
"What?"
"You need to leave my boyfriend's apartment, "She crossed her arms over her chest, "You are obviously an ex or something , coming in here like you own the place. Just get out."
I was so in shock that I couldn't let out the laugh that was sitting in my throat. She has no idea who I am. I was getting ready to say something when the front door opened.
"Oh, hey, Alex-
"You need to get the fuck out of my apartment," I sneered at the girl.
"What did I just walk into..." Mason whispered under his breath.
"Your apartment? I am not leaving-
I cut the girl off, "If you don't leave, I will call campus security and have them kick your ass out."
The black haired girl looked between Mason and I. "She really lives here, Mason? You live with your ex?"
Mason nodded, "Yes...wait, my wha-
"Get out now!" I pointed to the door and the girl finally gave up. She was almost out the door when I spoke again.
"That's your girlfriend right Mason, " I smirked. "Whats her same?"
And just as I expected, Mason said nothing and the girl left with a look of annoyance and hurt on her face. I had no idea at that moment that I had pissed Mason off as well.
~~~
I watched closely as Mason suddenly shot up from the couch and walked into the kitchen area. He opened the black fridge and grabbed a water bottle. I smiled to myself as I waited for him to bring the bottle to me. My smile dropped as Mason opened the bottle, took a drink, and plopped back down onto the couch.I groaned ands up from my comfy spot on my bed. My feet now touched the carpet.
"Would you quit being a child! You can't act like I don't exist forever. You have to talk at some point."
I dropped myself on to the couch next to him and grabbed the water bottle he had just got. His eyes followed me as I unscrewed the cap and go to take a drink. I lifted the bottle up and tilted it bit above my lips. He only had a sip but I was going to water fountain it anyway. Sadly, before I could take a drink the bottle was. snatched from my hands, causing some drops to land on the couch and carpet.
"You are insufferable. Why do you think you can tell me what to do, huh," he fumed. "And who told you you could have my water?"
"You realize you just acknowledged my presence, right" I stuck my tongue out at him and he rolled his brown eyes.
"Fuck off," He barked.
His face was red and I knew that I had actually pissed him off even more. If that was even possible. However, the more pissed he became the more I angry I became too.
"You are still made about that girl," I hissed. "Why?"
"I have my reasons. " he sneered and threw his phone across the room.
"No, not until you tell me why. It's not like you liked that girl! What number is she, five," I was starting to get really irritated. She was a bitch anyway, acting like she had a say in who comes in the apartment. Wether it was me or not, she wouldn't have a say.
"If anything, " I started. "I should be the one who's mad! You left a complete stranger in our apartment!"
"You acted like you know everything, Alex," he raged and stood up. "I actually did like her and you embarrassed me!" I stood up as well so we could be faced to face. It was more like my face to his chin but that wasn't important right now.
"Oh come on! I've watched you bring different girls over all week. You're telling me after making out with this chick for an hour you realized she's the one? She's the one you want to date? And since when are you embarrassed? You're the one who actually calls girls the wrong names in front of them. Do you you not remember Sasha, oh I mean Sarah! How is it different that I pointed out that you knew nothing about the psycho chick, who called herself your girlfriend, huh? You say I'm the dramatic bitch between us, but you should really take a look at yourself right now. "
I expected a reaction. I thought he would yell right back at me. The man was dead silent and I started to think that was worse. His brown eyes were darker than ever and I felt as if he was trying to kill me with them. Without saying a word, he shook his head and walked out the front door, slamming it behind him. The wooden door shook in its frame.
All the anger I felt vanished into thin air and was replaced with guilt. I frown as the situation hits me. Maybe I was out of line. I shouldn't have acted like that towards him. Maybe he really did like that girl and I shouldn't have tried to make her feel less about the relationship between them. I don't even know why I did that.
I decided that I would give Mason some space and leave the apartment. I texted him to let him know that he could go back as I would be gone. I had somehow found myself headed to Lacy's dorm.I had called to see if she had any plans and she ended up inviting me to go shopping. That's not really something I enjoyed but I figured it wouldn't hurt to get off the campus for a while.
"So, I was thinking we could hit up a few stores in the mall and then plan more from there," Lacy. proposed as she locked her door.
"Yeah that's fine. I actually haven't been to the mall yet so it'll be like a new experience for me," I informed.
"Great! I'll show you all the best stores to shop in. You don't mind if I drive, right?"
"Nope."
On the way out of the dorm building, we ran into Cj and my roommate. So much for trying to give him space. I didn't even want to see him until tonight or later if I could get away with it. I probably could have apologized to him then.
"Hey, Lace, you off somewhere," Mason brightly smiled at the now irritated brunette. It was much different expression from what he had on his face earlier.
"Its none of your business where I'm off to Chains. Why don't you mind your own, hm?" My eyes widened at her comment. It seemed a bit aggressive to reply that way.
I've noticed there is definitely some hostile tension between Mason and Lacy. To me it's like she really cannot stand him. What has he done that provoked her to act that way towards him? I mean, I've met Mason, so it could really be anything.
I jumped as I felt a hand lightly brush against my left shoulder.I whipped my head around to see CJ. His blond hair was styled nicely and he was dressed like he was on his way to a beach or something.
"Oops, didn't mean to scare ya," he chuckled,"You look extra beautiful today. Did you do something different with your hair?"
I blushed at his comment. Since having film with him, I've had time to get to know him more. I've come to realize he's a real sooth talker and super flirty. Though I haven't seen him use his abilities on anyone other than myself. Not that I minded, it made a lot of our conversations interesting.
"Nope, it's the same as always. What about you? Your hair looks taller than normal" I joked.
He smirked and touched his light blonde hair, "I used more gel this time. What do you think?"
"It looks great. You can see more of your face which is sort of nice" I said and his cheeks turned a light pink.
"If you guys are done flirting," Lacy grinned. "I'd really like to head out. We have to get to the mall before it is packed."
I awkwardly laughed as I remembered that CJ and I weren't the only two out here. We separated from each other and headed our separate ways. Shit, I didn't get to apologize to Mason. I didn't even look at him except when he spoke to Lace. I'm sure he didn't even look at me either. Oh well, the mall was calling.
"I need this top," Lacy added another shirt to her basket. I sat back in awe as she looked at tops for a second before throwing them into her basket without a second glance. I have never seen someone shop like this. My family and friends back home were all pretty "price tag conscious." Lacy didn't mind the price tags at all. Shopping like that must be fun.
"Shouldn't you at least try it on first? You may not like how it fits," I advised.
"Nah, if I don't like it I'll just give it to my younger sister or Lyndsey," She shrugged and continued walking through the store.
I looked around to see if anything caught my eye. I had no luck until I came across the shoe section. I instantly fell in love with some black Docs that were on sale. The looked a little worn. but I didn't mind. My only thought was that hey would look great in my collection. You can never have enough shoes or boots for that matter.
"So, all the movies at the movie theater are lame. We could go back to my door and watch something there if you're up for it," Lacy suggested. I instantly jumped at the option because I was tired of being at the mall.
"Yeah, that's totally fine with me."
Once we got back, we watched the first movie that was recommend to her on Netflix. It was short and the most boring thing I had ever seen. I don't even know the name or remember what it was about because I didn't pay much attention.
"Is there anything else we can do," I was starting to get bored but I didn't want to go home just yet.
"You can help me put my new clothes in my closet, " She requested. Well, at least it's something to pass time.
I helped her bring her shopping bags into her room. She had a total of five. Each filled to the brim with clothes. How on earth can a college student afford to shop like this? I sat on Lindsey's bed while Lacy was on hers. I took one of the plastic bags and emptied its components. One by one I folded shirts and then handed them over to Lace.
"It's so nice to have someone new to hang out with," Lacy suddenly said. "Don't get me wrong, I love my friends but a new face is always nice."
I smiled at her comment, "I get what you mean. I'm lucky I met you on the first day or else I don't think I'd have any friends at all. How long have you know the group?" I ask curiously.
"I've known Dylan the longest obviously," She laughed I raised my eyebrows in confusion. She stopped laughing as she noticed the confusion on my face.
"Dylan's my brother," She bragged. "How did you not notice? We literally look almost identical."
"You two look nothing alike," I exclaimed. I would have never guessed the two were siblings. Lacy was much shorter, had tan skin, and long black hair. As for Dylan, he was tall, a little more towards the pale side, and had brown hair.
She shrugged, "anyway, I've known Marcus and Erica for about a year and I've known Lindsey and Mason since middle school."
I decided to take this time to ask her more about Mason. I could possibly find out why she hated him so much.
"So, were you and Mason close?" I questioned her. They seemed to have a close relationship. It's not a very good one but it's still a relationship.
She stayed silent for a while. She was thinking.
"You could say that. He's been Dylan's best friend since middle school so I've been around him for a long time. Mason still has a bad attitude and short temper. I hope he's not too mean to you," she mumbled some other words that I couldn't quite catch.
"He could be worse," I admitted. "Do you not like Mason? You act like you hate him."She aggressively dropped a pile of clothes in the dresser. She moved to face me and crossed her arms defensively.
"Mason is my ex-boyfriend. We broke up the summer right before freshman year of college. Everyone thought we were going to be high school sweethearts. I thought we were going to end up married someday. Boy was I a fool." She breathed.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened," I felt like I was being nosy but I wanted the full story. If they were such a great couple, something awful had to have broken them up.
"He's just a bad boyfriend. He doesn't listen and he's secretive. He would never open up to me. I caught him in so many lies. He doesn't care about anyones feelings but his own. Mason was too good to be true and I got hurt because of it. So, if you are interested in being in a relationship with him, I wouldn't bother."
I accidentally snorted, "You think I want to be in a relationship with him? I could never. We'd probably argue constantly and he'd get bored of me at some point." Like all the other girls I've seen.
"You're not wrong. He'd drop your ass in a second." She laughed. It wasn't like a light laugh or anything. It was a full blown hard laugh.I felt my face drop as she continued.
What was that supposed to mean?
