"Hey" Emily says once I get out of my car

It's currently 5am and for some crazy reason, Emily and I decided to go to a yoga class.

"Yo" I say walking towards her. They studio is busy when we walk in, we drop our yoga mats at the back of the room and wait for the instructor

"How are you?" Emily asks stretching her legs "I heard Sarah had the baby"

I nod and give her a genuine smile "it can be hard but right now I'm in a good place"

She grins "I'm glad. I don't need my baby sister falling off the rocks"

I roll my eyes playfully "anyway how have you been? I haven't seen Alex in ages"

She shrugs but there's still a small smile on her face "we're doing really good. We decided we're going to take things slow - well as slow as things can go when you've already a kid together"

I laugh "so it's official?"

She nods

The instructor, a middle aged french woman, walks in. It's not our first class so we know most the tips and tricks and I'd like to say I'm quite a flexible person.

The class lasts an hour and afterwards we decide to go to get some smoothies.

"We really should do this more often" I say slipping into the seat across from her

Emily nods "every Tuesday and Thursday morning?"

"Sounds like a plan"

"I forgot to ask how are things with Ryder?"

"We're back to being friends" I tell her

"I'm glad you two bounce off each other" she smiles "he makes you smile"

"Yeah because of his stupidity"

She shrugs "well I haven't seen your teeth as much"

"Mom paid good money for my braces when I was thirteen they'd want to be seen" I joke

She rolls her eyes "did I ever tell you, your defense mechanisms are my favourite?"

I childishly stick my tongue out at her

I go home to shower and change before going to school. The day went pretty quickly and it's lunch before I know it. Ryder and I didn't have any classes together today and rumour has it he and Sean bagged themselves lunchtime detention.

"Hey" Loren slides into the seat across from me

"Yo" I say putting my phone down. Dani and Shay both take their seats

Dani opens her salad box "has anyone heard the news?" When we don't say anything she continues with distaste "Helens supposed to be throwing this huge birthday bash this weekend"

Loren rolls her eyes "shocker the queen bee needs to be centre of attention"

"Any other party and I'd go live it up" Shay huffs

I shake my head "we should go" when they all look at me like I've suddenly gained two heads "think about it this way, we don't care about Helen but that doesn't mean we can't go and have fun - it's just a bonus if it pisses her and her followers off"

Loren grins, nodding her head "I like your thinking"

As of on que everyone in the cafeterias phone goes off

The news is out! Our favourite student is celebrating her 18th birthday this Friday and she's having the best party yet!!

You guessed it, our very own Helen is celebrating her 18th birthday this weekend and she vante wait to see you all there!

It's open invitation because she knows how much people will want to be there

We can't wait, can you?

Shay nods "like people are really going there for her and not the free alcohol and to hook up"

"Speaking of" Dani smirks "who's available this weekend?"

Loren grins "Jack will keep me happy" she says referencing her boyfriend, who she's been dating since freshman year

"Well I'll definitely be looking" Shay winks "Tal, if you and Ryder happen to hook up remember to do it on Helens queen sized bed"

I laugh "that would be comedy"

But we've decided we're just friends. Am I happy with that? Do I want to be more? I don't know

"What about you Dani?"Shay asks

"When am I not up for a hook up" she grins

Loren rolls her eyes "oh don't lie Dani, your always up for hook ups with Brady"

"Brady?" I ask

"Her friend with benefits" Loren whispers

"Friends with benefits? Good luck with that one"

"It worked with you and Ryder, didn't it? You two are still friends"

"When you catch feelings, let me know so I can say I told you so" I smirk

"So you caught feelings?" Shay asks

Before I have to stutter out a response - that I don't even know what it would've been - the bell goes

"Saved by the bell" I wink standing up "I'll see you guys tomorrow"

"Bye babes" Dani grins

When I get to my locker I take out my phone. I click Mollys name

You up for a party Friday night?

She responds a few seconds later

I'm not invited though😫 wish I could

I grin, the message coming to my mind - open invitation or not, she's coming with me

It's open invitation!! We can go get a makeover before it, I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants you there😉

I can almost see her eye roll

Oh shut up and book our nail appointments😇

I grin, knowing she was going to crack eventually. I grab my books before going to class.

Mom text me after school to do the food shopping and once that was done I decided to treat myself to some pizza - because who does food shopping for fun without needing a 'well done' treat for surviving the crazy lines

I get a snapchat from Ryder once I'm back at the car. It's a selfie with the caption:

You going to the wicked witch of the west's party?

I snap a quick selfie before typing my reply

And miss the opportunity to piss them off? Of course I'm going, wouldn't be anywhere else

He snaps back a selfie of him laughing. I ask him what he and Sean done today to get in trouble today.
