《He's My BadBoy》Chapter twenty nine

The drive to the hospital felt like one of the longest drives of my life. Once I told Tal we needed to go, we were in the car within seconds and it's been radio silence since. The car was filled with tension, I noticed it and and so did Talia.
She also must have noticed my nervous shuffles and heavy breath because she put her hand on top of mine that was resting on the gearstick and gave it a slight squeeze
How could the night have went from great to disastrous. Sean's my best friend, he's like a brother to me and has been since day one if anything happened him I would know what I'd do.
Your also the reason he was even driving in that direction, a voice in the back of my head told me
"Your fading away on me" Talia says looking in my direction "and don't think I don't know what you're thinking, what happened isn't your fault"
"How do you do that?" I ask and she raises a questioning eyebrow "know what I'm thinking"
She shrugs "you'd be the same with me"
When I turn in to the entrance of the hospital Talia speaks again "stop at the door, you head in I'll park"
I nod "thank you Tal"
Five minutes later a nurse not much older than me has directed me to Seans room "before you go in you should probably know that he's not looking his best. It's going to be at least days before he wakes up and all that can be done for him is monitoring. I'm the rehabilitation nurse so I'll only really come in then "
I nod "thank you"
She gives me a small smile "for what it's worth,
I hope your friend will be ok. If you need anything just ask for me, Molly Greene"
With one last nod and smile I walk into Seans room and notice he's covered in cuts and bruises with monitors connected to him from all angles.
"Talia's on her way in" I say as I sit on the chair beside his bed "the nurse told me that it's most likely going to be days before you wake up" A small smile makes its way to my face "I don't know if you can hear me but you need to wake up, your nurse is definitely your type and you don't want to miss your chance"

Just the the door opens and 'my type' walks in "how is he?" She asks leaning up against the window on the other side of the room
"He should wake up in a few days so that's good but until then we won't really know too much"
She nods and looks at me with her 'but how are you' look
"Tal I'm fine" I say and she raises a questioning eyebrow "I just needed to see him, make sure he was going to be fine and..." I trail off
"And that it wasn't your fault?" She finishes the sentence "because I already you it's not"
"But he was driving that way because of me"
"Blame me then because you said it because of me" when I don't say anything she let's out a breath and walks towards me "see you won't blame me, so you can't blame yourself"
"Now if you want something fun to do....." Talia smirks
——————————
It's been two weeks since Seans accident. Unfortunately there hasn't been a change in his condition which also means we don't know the extent, if any to his injuries. Ryder and I decided to hold off on the whole 'telling' everyone, mainly people at school about the pregnancy because we wanted Sean to know before them however long that took.
Lounging around the house would be my favourite part of the day because I could interact with the baby.
Today would be one of those days where I lounge around. I'm at Ryders place while he's at work designing the baby's nursery. I opted for a casual beige dress, a messy ponytail and no makeup.
My ringtone goes off in the kitchen "What's up?" I ask picking up the phone
"Tal" Ryder says sounding breathless "it's Sean he's awake"
"I'm on my way" I say and grab my keys and a random jacket to hide the bump - which I hopefully won't have to for much longer
There was no traffic on the way there so it wasn't long before I found myself walking into the same room I'd visited more than a few times over the past few weeks

"Look who decided they wanted to see my pretty face again" I grin as I close the door behind me. When I turn around I see Sean smiling up at me - his cuts and bruises almost all healed. Ryder was leaning against the window a less amused more worried look on his face
"What's wrong?" I ask suddenly nervous
"They're bringing up the rehabilitation department, they've been begging to meet me" Sean jokes
Ryder huffs "he means they're bringing them up because he can't feel his legs"
"And I've been trying to tell him not to take it so seriously but he won't calm down" Sean adds
I stand beside Ryder and move my hand so it's resting on top of the one he's leaning on behind him. I give it a slight squeeze telling him to 'calm down' which he must have understood because he noticeably relaxes
"I love the decorations by the way" Sean notes and I grin
Ryder laughs "Tal said let's do something fun...... definitely wasn't what I was expecting"
Just then the door opens and a pretty nurse around our age walks in. She has long brown hair that's tied into the perfect messy ponytail and a natural beauty to her
"Hi guys, I'm sorry to interrupt but I'm your rehabilitation nurse, Molly Greene. I'm just here to do some routine checks" she says closing the door behind her
Seans mouth turns up in his usual cheeky grin and I hear Ryder mutter a quiet "I knew it" under his breath. I give him a questioning look and he grins at me before whispering "I'll tell you later"
By the time my attention switches back to the other people in the room, Molly seems to have already come to a conclusion about Seans condition
"So its obvious about the whole not being able to feel your legs situation but I do have good news" Molly smiles "It's going to take time but as your new rehab nurse I can confirm that you should be as good as new in a few months"
"You're going to be my personal assistant for a few months, I definitely don't have a problem with that" Sean smirks
Molly laughs "Only if paying me twice my wages otherwise I'm only stuck with you on these grounds"
"Until it's over and you miss me too much"
"Wanna bet?" She grins
Me and Ryder give each other a knowing look
"Updates regarding your hospital stay, we're planning on keeping you in for a few more days mainly so we can have some sessions and get you used to your wheelchair"
Sean nods, his face more serious now like everything's settling in for him. Molly and Ryder seem to notice as well, Ryder walks over and ruffles Seans curly hair.
"Our first session is tomorrow, I'm giving you three before we'll have a race. If you win we go for food"
Sean smirks "a challenge, just what I like"
I'm rooting for Sean
Molly leaves the room a few minutes later after explaining the medical side of Seans injuries in depth. By the time she leaves Sean has a grin on his face that didn't look like it was leaving anytime soon
"I'm winning that competition" he tells us and then diverts his attention to only me "Talia it's look one hundred degrees in here why are you still wearing a jacket" Before I can blink he adds "actually why are you wearing Ryders jacket"
Both me and Ryder stand there like fumbling idiots
Sean starts laughing and Ryder and I give each other a look
"It's been an hour and you still haven't told me"
"Told you what?" Ryder asks
"That you got 'your type' pregnant"

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Storm of the Elementals
The apocalypse was something that people were expecting to happen sooner or later, rising sea levels and everything. What our protagonist didn't expect was it to be from a system, let alone the fact that he missed it. Waking up as an elemental and being given frighteningly little info from a system that seemed a little off , stuck with 3 other eccentric individuals that he could almost swear are a bit dodgy, and not being quite sure he was human anymore, it was the start of a long day. It only got longer when he found out he was moved to a whole different world. ~ This is a slow burn story, focusing on the world and what happens if an eccentric historian gets transported in a world with systems and power that are not quite meant for him. ~ Some things you can expect: -No harem, god no. -Yes the protagonist is strong, no he isn't completely OP. -Other people who have been changed, he isn't the only special or chosen one who got transported or messed with. -It is sad to actually have to put this here, but the main character does shockingly have common sense.
