《He's My BadBoy》Chapter twenty two

"Ryder hurry up or we're going to be late" I complain banging on the bathroom door. It's almost nine and the wedding starts at ten and Ryder hasn't even gotten out of the shower yet
"I won't take three hours to get ready like you did" he shouts out at me
"Two actually" I correct him before walking back into the room and sitting on the bed patiently
He was right, I spent the past two hours getting ready. I decided to go natural enough with my makeup and I put some loose curls in my hair. I'm wearing a fishtail red silky dress.
Half an hour later Ryder walks out wearing nothing but a towel that's wrapped around his waist
"Ryder hurry up we're going to be late"
"The wedding doesn't start for another forty five minutes"
Ten minutes later he was ready
We made the church on time even with Ryder's stalling. As soon as we walked in everyone's eyes turned to us
"I don't think they like me" I joke in a whisper and Ryder lets out a loud laugh
I hit his arm and we slide into a row of seats near the back and five minutes later the bride was walking in. The wedding went fast and the ceremony was amazing.
We stood outside the church when a middle aged woman walked up to us "Ryder" she glanced at him quickly before turning to me "how do you know my son?"
"Um we're fr-"
"Don't tell me you've brought one of your little bitches to a family wedding. Don't you think you've embarrassed me enough" she interrupts me
Ryder wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me towards him "Talk about Talia like that again, I dare you"
She crosses her arms and looks at his arm that's around my waist "don't do anything that will embarrass me" she says before turning around and walking away

"Meet my mother" he sighs
I have to refrain my mouth from opening in shock "that's your mom?"
"She doesn't really like me if you haven't already guessed"
"Excuse my bluntness but she's such a bitch to you"
He shrugs "it's nothing but the truth"
The bride and groom, who Ryder told me is his cousin Mike and his now wife Sarah "congratulations bro" Ryder says and him and Mike do a weird handshake
"I'm Sarah" the bride says to me giving me a bright smile. She's really pretty, with long blonde hair and just a natural beauty to her
"I'm Talia" I smile "I love your dress by the way"
She grins "thank you, it took me ages to find it. So are you Ryder's girlfriend?" She asks
I shake my head and look at Ryder who's deep in conversation with Mike "no we're just friends"
"And your happy with that?" She asks like we've been friends for years - honestly that's what it feels like
I sigh and laugh "I could probably right a book full of our history"
She laughs "makes a good story to tell the kids"
"Oh don't start" I laugh
She laughs "when I throw the flowers later you better catch them" she winks before another person walks up to us
Thankfully by the time we left the church I had been introduced to almost everyone. The reception was in the hotel everyone, including us are staying in. Me and Ryder ended up at a table with some of his cousins, Parker and his girlfriend Tia and Harrison who were all similar ages to us, who all seemed to be pretty nice
"So you two are......?" Harrison asks waiting for one of us to finish the sentence
"Friends" we say at the same time
He nods but with a smirk on his face "So you're free then?" He directs his question towards me

"Nope" Ryder pipes up
"So you have a boyfriend?" Harrison's smirk widens like he knows what he's doing while I just sit there confused
Ryder huffs "I know what you're doing H" he stands up and mutters "I need a drink"
"Whoops" Harrison grins "that boy mustn't have got some in months"
I cough and excuse myself. I was walking towards the bathroom when a hand grabbed mine and pulled it. Sarah closed the door to the little private room she had just pulled me into
"What's up?" I ask
"That's what I was going to ask you?"
"What do you mean?"
"I have the best view from my seat. It didn't look like a friendly conversation between cousins and my bets are it had something to do with you" she grins and when I don't say anything adds "come on make my wedding memorable, I need gossip"
"Ryder's just odd. We're friends but I'm not available"
She rolls her eyes "boys. If I were you I'd just get a few drinks in me for confidence and say something to him about it"
"Now come on" she grabs my hand "time for you to catch the bouquet"
And I did. And Sarah's face was priceless when she turned around and saw it was me who caught it
The meal was amazing apart from the few snarky comments here and there between Ryder and Harrison, mainly coming from Ryder because he was still annoyed with his cousin
For whatever reason
Me and Sarah had exchanged snapchats and phone numbers so we were texting each other most the night when she wasn't caught up in conversations
It was almost 2am when I text her again
I'm taking your advice
She responded in seconds
I can already tell we're going to be best friends
I grin and stand up from the table and make my way over to the drinks. Obviously I've had some drinks already but one or two more shots wouldn't do any harm, I'll still remember what I do in the morning
Ryder and I haven't talked much since when we first got to the reception and honestly without Sarah here I'd feel unwelcome
After swallowing my second shot I notice Ryder walk out so I assume he's leaving
Nice of him to tell me
"It's now or never Tals" I mutter to myself following him. I stand beside him while he waits for the elevator but don't say anything. We're the only two in the elevator standing opposite each other
"Good night?" He asks
"Mhm" I nod
The doors open on our floor and Ryder walks out. I follow slowly behind him and huff
"Seriously this is stupid" I say and cross my arms
He turns around a confused look on his face "I'm not following"
"This shit of us acting like this. I mean this isn't us Ryder, where's the usual sarcastic comments and sexual innuendos instead we have awkward silences and stupid jealousy over nothing"
"What are we Ryder" He mocks me putting on a high pitched voice
"Oh fuck off" I laugh
Before I know it he's walking towards me and straight away connects our lips his tongue darting into my mouth almost straight away. His hand makes it's way through my hair while the other one plays with the strap of my dress
I ran my hands through his hair and tugged him towards me
"Looks like we have some time to make up for" He grins and pulls me into our room

Armed with a cutlass, pistol, and weather magic, Caleb stands no chance unless he figures out how to level up in a hurry!***Note: If this was a movie, it would likely be rated PG-13. The 'Traumatizing Content' rating is just to be on the safe side should any scene stray close to the borderline.
