《He's My BadBoy》Chapter fourteen

I got to school early for once which was typical because I already knew that Talia wasn't going to be in today because she was working. My phone started ringing as I made my way through the halls
"Hey Alex what's up?" I say after answering the phone. He never calls me so whatever it is must be important
"Hey C, I don't know if you've heard or not but...." he goes off topic sounding nervous
"Alex what's wrong?" I ask my own nerves starting to kick in
"Um well last night Talia was in an accident" his voice goes quiet
My world feels like it's stopped in time "What? Is she okay?"
"I don't know Cam, all I know is Emily's at the hospital now and has been all night but she's still in surgery"
"I-I need to go there now"
"No Cam, you told me you had your physics test today that you had to pass. I'll text you any updates"
My eyes start to water "promise"
"Promise"
"Hey what's wrong" Sean stops me as I speed walk down the halls to the bathroom. He puts his hands on both of my arms and I look up into his concerned eyes
"Talia, shes.... she's in hospital"
Just then did I notice Ryder standing beside Sean, leaning against some of the lockers. I immediately regretted saying it out loud. I mean it's not like he cared about her, yet the look on his face told me he did
"Is she alright?" Sean asks
"She was in a car accident and has been in surgery all night. That's all I know but I can't go to the hospital because I have a physics exam and-"
"I'll go"
"She was in a car accident and has been in surgery all night. That's all I know but I can't go to the hospital because I have a physics exam and-"
"I'll go" I interrupt Camila mid rant. I knew when she said Talia was in an accident something had happened

"You will?" She asks me a confused look on her face
"I still care about her" I say knowing what the look on her face means
She looked like she wanted to put up a fight but sighed instead "Thanks"
I nod before saying a quick goodbye to them
I got to the hospital ten minutes later and seen Talia's sister sitting in one of the waiting room chairs
"Hey" she says when I sit down beside her. She looked beyond tired
"Hey. Any updates?"
She shakes her head and then seems to remember something "she's supposed to be working this morning, she can't lose that job Ryder"
"It's fine, I'll go there explain what's happening and take her shift"
"They'll let you?" She asks me
I nod "I know the owner, I worked in one of his other bars"
"Thanks so much"
It was 3pm when I got back to the hospital. Emily had text me to tell me that Talia was out of surgery but still in a coma and had told me her room number
"Hey" I say closing the door to the hospital room behind me
"Hey, Thanks so much for earlier" Emily looks over at me
"How much sleep did you get?"
"None"
I move further into the room and look over at Talia. From what I could see of her that wasn't under the blanket her whole body was full of cuts and bruises. She had needles going into her arms and a breathing machine in her mouth
"What did the doctors say?" I ask
"They don't know when she's going to wake up. If she does and her memories mightn't come back to her. Surgery went well though they managed to stop the bleeding. She also broke a few ribs and sprained her wrist"
I nod not knowing what to answer to that. When Talia woke up she'd be in hell with the pain. Just then the television switches to the news
"A 17 year old girl has been seriously injured in a car accident that occurred between the hours of 02:00 and 03:00am last night. The young lady has not yet been named but it is known she's in a critical condition in hospital.

The accident has been deemed as suspicious and Police are appealing for witnesses of the accident between the two cars. No suspects have been found but there was a pink scrunchie found at the scene which might have a meaning to some sort of hint.
We will be updating everyone on this storyline within the next few hours"
My eyes were glued to the television and all my suspicions and worries were confirmed when I heard about the pink scrunchie. Just then the door opened and two officers walked in. I didn't let them speak before I spoke "I know who did it"
Everyone in the room seemed shocked by my words and the police wanted to take me outside to hear me out
"It was Sheila Bunton"
"Sir, you must understand how obscene this sounds"
I nod "I get it, I do but she's my ex girlfriend. The pink scrunchie you found that's what she uses to leave her mark. She left it there for me, she warned me to stay away from Talia or she would get her back"
"And you didn't listen?"
"I did that's why I pushed her away and stayed away from her, I don't know why she done this. I didn't think she'd take it this far"
"Where is she now?" They asked. I gave them the address and they decided they'd go follow up on the lead. I knew what I said probably sounded insane but I also knew that's what happened.
A few days before they party Sheila had warned me to stay away from Talia but obviously I didn't listen, I mean she sounded just like a jealous ex and it's not like what me and Talia had was serious but then when me and the boys went to play basketball, I was gone for so long because Sheila saw me and told me how serious she was being so I stupidly turned to alcohol to build the courage of what I had to do to Talia
But Sheila done it anyway. Even after I got Talia to hate me again, even more this time. Any sort of understanding we had was gone even if we were only using each other in the first place
I walked back into the the hospital room already knowing Talia's sister had heard the whole story. She didn't look up at me as I leaned up against the windowsill
"I'm sorry about everything. I mean if I hadn't have gotten involved with Talia she definitely wouldn't be in this situation right now" I said looking anywhere but at Emily and Talia
"You can't blame yourself. Talia probably would have still done the same thing with you crazy ex or not and you are the one who's going to get the bitch caught" Emily says giving me a sympathetic smile "you stayed away from her like you were told, you were never to know the extents your ex was going to go to"
I nod "you really should get some rest" I tell her "I'll stay here. You go home, get some sleep and spend time with your family. I'll text you if there's any updates"
She smiles and stands up "thank you"
I sat down beside Talia once Emily left. I had already text Cammy and Sean telling them there's not much point them coming here yet so I knew it would just be me. I took Talia's hand in mine and rubbed my thumb soothingly on hers
"I'm sorry Tal, for Sheila and for hurting you, you don't deserve either" I smirk "enough of that soppy shit, but you really should wake up and let me make it up to you in ways you'll really enjoy"
