《To Build A Home [ Simon x Wilhelm ]》Something worth remembering

I was sitting on the steps outside our school building, waiting for the last class of the day to commence, the one me and Simon had together.

It was midday but the sun felt strangely soothing on my skin...it was not as strong as it usually is during this time of the day. The sunrays flickered as a small cloud passed over the sun; everything felt so good today.

I took a deep breath, tilting my head back, and let my lungs overflow with the smell of Hillerska. No matter how much I hated this place, it was a part of me now, a part of who I was. True, Hillerska came with its share of bad memories, but the good ones - damn, I would never want to lose them.

I stared into a little puddle of water in the ground, too lost in my own little bubble of thoughts to realize someone had just sit down beside me. I turned as a voice called my name.

"Wille?"

It was the boy himself who had given me the best memories. Simon.

"Hey," I greeted, "I was thinking about you."

"Is that a good or a bad thing?" Simon smiled.

"Well," I shrugged, "depends on the perspective."

"Hmm, elusive Wille," he pursed his lips, "another thing worth remembering."

I laughed. "Cheesy Simme," I replied, then lowered my voice to a whisper, "this is something worth keeping."

As soon as these words escaped my lips, a shadow cast over his eyes, but it disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. Had I been a stranger, I would have never noticed it.

"Everything alright?" I asked.

"Yeah, yeah, absolutely."

We sat in silence for a while.

"This feels like a dream, Simme," I said out of nowhere.

"What does?" he asked, pinching his eyebrows together.

"Everything," I replied. "Everytime I look at you, I get reminded of the day we met at the party. You had this halo in your hair. You looked like an angel," I chuckled, "I touched your lips for the first time... accidentally, but the desire that touch left in me, it never died Simon."

Simon looked at me speechlessly. Man, how I wish I knew what was going on in that beautiful head of his.

I sighed. "Let's go to class, we are gonna get late," I said, standing up.

"Can I come to your room after class?" Simon asked quietly, standing up beside me.

"Sure," I said.

"Okay."

...

The class was dismissed, Wilhelm, turned back to look at me and gave me a quick smile, then walked out. I followed after.

I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I briskly walked out of class and pulled it out. It was an unknown number.

I picked it up.

"Are the proofs ready?"

I knew it.

"Uh, I will have to cross check-" I started but was cut in between.

"I need them by tomorrow."

"But it hasn't been two wee-"

"I know. Plans changed. I need them by tomorrow." And the call went dead.

I looked a my phone, fuming. Who the fuck did he think he was?

Fuck, I have to talk to Casper as well now. I turned into an empty corridor and punched the wall, nearly cracking open my knuckles, and then dialled Casper's number.

"Hello?"

"Yeah, I need the work done by tomorrow...you know what work I'm talking about," I said straightforwardly.

There was a silence on the other end.

"I'll pay you if you need me to."

"No no no no, you don't have to pay me...aargh, I've got to see what I can do. I'll try my best to get it done asap."

"Okay, thanks a lot."

"Simon, stop being so cold please. Look, whatever I said yesterday, let's just forget about it alright. I was being selfish, I know, but I still don't want to lose you as a friend."

I listened wordlessly.

"I'm so sorry for what I said yesterday. From today I am a solemn shipper of Wilhelm and Simon okay? I'll make you one of those cute couple muffins if you-"

"Shut up Casper," I snapped, a wide smile on my face, "it's alright. I get it. Actually, it's a good thing you said all of those things yesterday. It made me realize Wille and I do have some things to sort out."

"Ahh, thank god. I thought you'd never talk to me again," I heard Casper's sigh over the phone.

"I won't if you don't help me out."

"Yes, sir, on it," he said, hanging the call, leaving me shaking my head to myself in the empty corridor.
