《Just go with it | Falice fanfiction》Chapter fifteen

The morning had come and it was time for a new day in Hawaii. Gladys and Alice got ready and we're on their way to their spa day, while FP came up with a fun little activity to do with the kids to surprise Gladys.
"Alright here we go, everybody out." FP tells them as they pull up to the gold course in a golf kart.
"So what are we doing?" Charles questions, hoping out of his seat.
"Gladys forgot her camera in the room-" he grabs the gold clubs from the back of the kart. "-so I'm gonna have a little surprise for her when she gets back from the spa." He tells them.
"A stolen camera?" Betty smirks.
"No, just some pictures of us having a great time. Reassuring her of all the fun we have together." FP shakes his head. These kids were really growing on him.
"Well... I forgot to flush the toilet before I left the hotel room, so she's going to have two surprises." Charles places his hands in his pockets, as Betty gives him a disgusted look.
"Okay, seriously? No one is supposed to crap as much as you do." He takes three golf clubs out of the bag. "You've gotta look into that Pepto Bismol or something." He chuckles.
He hands them each a club before pointing to the camera he had set up quickly. "Now, let's just look into the camera, and we're having fun, and we're a family, we love each other, and- boom." He snaps the picture of them close together, smiling brightly.
"Alright, let's do one where you get the ball in the hole, okay?" The kids nod.
"The ball is in the hole, Charles is excited about that, you and I are happy for him, and- boom!" He snaps the shot.
"Betty, you go to hit the ball but you followed through too much and it made you fall over. You're laughing, but I'm a concerned father, and- boom." He snaps another shot.
"Okay, how about now we just laugh about something I said because I'm a funny dad, you're very close with me, and you think I'm funny, and-"
"Why are we always laughing? Is there something wrong with us?" Charles furrows his brows.
"What? No. You're just amused by everything I say. So here we go, and-"
"Can we take a break, and do something really fun?" Charles pleads.
"No, were not doing anything fun man. We're here to fake having fun. Just come on, right to the camera." FP turns and give the camera a smile.
"Don't worry, we never have fun with our real dad either." Betty admits.
Fp watches as both of their faces drop at the mention of their dead beat father. He instantly feels guilty that these kids don't have his love in their life.
He sighs. "All right, how's this? I'll teach you how to swim, okay?" He pokes Charles in the shoulder. "Before your mother gets back from the spa day, in four hours." He rolls his eyes.
"Is that even possible?" Charles asks him.
"Yes, of course it is. But, we're going to take one more picture if you don't mind. Actually make that two pictures." He points to them as he makes his way over to the flag by the pole, grabbing it and talking back to them.

"Betty, make it look like you're throwing this straight in the air in three, two, one-" He shoots the shot.
"Perfect, now Charles, lay down on your stomach and clench this between your legs. Now look like you're in pain and- ouch." He takes the last photo, the three of them pretending as if the flag had landed in Charles butt.
"Alright, let's go." FP ushers them back to the golf kart to go get ready to get in the pool.

"It took my summer the entire summer to learn how to swim, how are you going to teach me so quick?" Charles asks FP, adjusting his floaties.
"I'm gonna do it the same way my grandfather taught me." And with that, he threw a screaming Charles into the pool.
He landed into Ben's arms who had emerged from the water. Charles breathes heavily as he chokes on some water.
"Don't worry. It took grandpa eight hours to teach us, and it was a nightmare. But there's two of us here now, and we're sober. You're gonna he fine." Ben explains, holding onto him.
They've been at it for an hour and a half now, and Charles has been doing great. FP was a great teacher, and Betty was there to help when she could.
"Alright, you're doing great. Isn't he doing great?" FP looks to Betty.
"He's doing great." She smiles.
"We want to advance a little though. I need you to swim to uncle Ben." He holds Charles up with one of his arm and points to Ben who is only about ten feet away.
"If you get there without touching the bottom, we'll give you a dolphin cookie." He bribes.
Ben pulls out one of the blue, dolphin shaped cookie from the bag and makes dolphin noises.
"Is that what your grandpa gave you?" Betty questions.
"Uh, no. Grandpa gave us something he called a Heineken." FP looks at Ben.
"I want one of those!" Charles exclaims.
"No, just stick with the dolphin cookies." FP laughs.
"Yeah, it hurts less when they get thrown at your head. God, he was a sick man." Ben lets out.
"Yeah, yeah okay. Are we ready?" Charles nods. "Don't think about it. Commit." He gently places Charles on his stomach in the water and gives him a push.
Charles starts swimming as the three yells words of encouragement for him to keep going. He makes it in record time, just for Ben to place the cookie into his mouth.
FP and Betty swim to them with a smile. "My boy, that was terrific buddy!" He ruffles his hair. "Alright, have your cookie. We're gonna move on through."
Charles nods as he takes a bite of his cookie and grins at him. He might just be his fake dad, but he felt more like one than his own father ever was.

Gladys and Alice we're getting massages. They were so relaxing that Alice had fell asleep.
"Hey, Hermie." Gladys says, looking over at her. "Hermie?"
Alice's head shoots up as much as it can and she looks over at her. "Yeah?"
"So, FP's birthday is coming up, and I have no idea what to get him." She admits shyly.

"Ahh.." Alice moans as the woman starts massaging her neck. "Well, don't get him a tie. He has a hundred of them and he never wears them." Gladys chuckles.
"That's good to know..."
"He loves books on tape for his car. Uhh, fishing gear! Loves it, doesn't use it. Can't take the fish off of the hook once he catches it, so he just collects it." Alice fondly rolls her eyes, Gladys frowns.
"He loves candy. Jelly bellies, loves them. They are his favourites. But he only likes the cotton candy and the peanut butter. So you have to buy the bag of Jelly Bellies, separate the cotton candy and the peanut butter and then you put them into a plastic baggie. I got them online and-"
"Wow, you know so much about him." Gladys interrupts with a smile.
"Yeah." Alice gulps as she realizes she was rambling. "I mean I've known the guy for forever."
She turns to look at Gladys and can tell she's feeling insecure on her knowledge of FP. She internally sighs, but decides to keep going.
"Music. Loves music. But anything after '95, don't bother. You'll loose him." She giggles.
"That's when I finished my Girl Scouts!" Gladys beams.
Alice returns a smile and has to stifle a laugh. She kept forgetting how young this girl was...

"All right, how many cookies do we have left?" FP asks Ben, who is at the other end of the pool.
"Maybe, about forty." He answers.
"What do you think, Charles? Forty feet for forty cookies? Can you handle that?" FP pats his chest.
"Let's do this."
"Really? Okay, he's ready, he's ready to rock!" FP shouts in excitement.
"Almost..." Charles eagerly takes off his floaties with a smirk.
"What? No way." FP says in pure shock.
"Oh, my god. Ladies and gentleman, off come the floaties! This is getting serious." Ben announces loudly.
"Are you sure about this, Charlie?" Betty worriedly grabs his arm.
"Hell yeah." He responds.
"All right, no matter what you're a good man, okay? Keep kicking, I am here if you need me." FP assures him, lowering him into the water slowly.
"Go!" FP gives him a push and he's off.
He starts swimming for dear life, kicking his feet as fast as he can as everyone shouts words of encouragement again.
Gladys and Alice had finished their spa treatment and had made their way to the pool since FP had texted them to mention where they were.
Alice gasps at the sight of her son. "He doesn't have his floaties on! Oh my god!" She screams.
They all keep shouting at him to keep going, so he does. Breathing when he needs to, moving his arms quickly.
Everyone let's out a cry of happiness once he reaches Ben. He high fives his mother who's standing above him, right at the edge of the pool. Everyone claps for him as he beams.
"I did it, I did it! Thank you." He gratefully thanks FP.
"No way buddy, that was all you." He returns the smile as he picks up Betty in his arms.
He looks to the woman he wants to impress and sees her smile at him with her big brown eyes. He winks at her, causing her to blush.
He then looks over at Alice, noticing a certain sparkle in her eyes he hadn't seen before. She shakes her head at him with the brightest smile, making his heart swell.
"What are we looking at?" A woman interrupts the moment, causing Alice to jump.
"Jesus. Oh god, Hermie!" Alice chokes out.
FP's heart stops, and his eyes widen. He drops Betty in the water, as he was terrified of what might happen next.
"Hermie, oh my god. You-you snuck up on me." Alice chuckles nervously, looking between the two woman.
"Did I? Oh... do you startle easily? That's a sign of menopause." The real Hermione pokes Alice's shoulder who lets out a breath.
Gladys's eyebrows crinkle in confusion. "Hermie?" She points to the gorgeous brown haired woman standing in front of them.
"Gladys, this is Hermie. She and I went to college together." Alice explains.
FP is freaking out, motioning for Ben to go and do something. Ben sighs and gets out of the water.
"Aloha Gladys! Is this your daughter?" Hermione asks Alice.
"What?" Alice asks hurtfully.
"No, no. I'm actually the girlfriend." Gladys explains with a smile.
"Whose girlfriend?" She asks.
Ben quickly makes his way between all the woman holding out his hand for Hermione to shake. "Hi, I am Fred Andrews and you are very very beautiful."
"Ugh, married, flattered, thanks." She waved him off. "Where's FP?" She asks Alice.
"Uh, FP is in the water, teaching our little boy how to swim." Alice points to him.
"Hi doctor!" She excitedly greets, earning a wave back from FP.
"You know what's so crazy, is that u have never met anybody with the first name Hermie before. And here you are-" she points to the real Hermie. "And your name is Hermie, and-" she goes to turn to Alice but is quickly pushed into the pool by Ben.
The women scream as she splashes into the water. "We are playing pool rugby, and now I'm in the lead!" Ben explains, jumping in after her.
Ben laughs loudly and nervously as he holds her underwater. FP sinks down under the water, hoping he could just disappear.
Hermione rolls her eyes. "Anyways, something has opened up in our schedule tonight. So, we were wondering if you and FP were good to go for dinner! Oceano's, seven o'clock." She smiles.
"Oh, no, no... uh-"
"Is it a bad night? Are you two fighting?" Hermione assumes, narrowing her eyes at her.
"No! We're not fighting. No, we just- we're fine." She couldn't stand this woman thinking her life was a shit one. "No, that's great. Tonight's gonna happen. Yes, perfect." Alice agrees, knowing she'll regret it later.
"Perfect. Anyways, see you tonight!" Hermione winks before strutting back to her hotel room.
"Okay, Hermie!" She waves the woman off. "Oh my god, Fred let her breathe!" She furiously exclaims.
He lets go of Gladys who emerges from the water, breathing heavily.
"What? We're you under there?" Ben says in fake disbelief.
She growls and splashes him, causing him to scream.
Alice places her head in her hands, she just got herself into some deep shit.

My second life in a fantasy world
Important Announcement: English is not my first language, sorry for the mistakes After living a long life on earth, it was finally time to leave, bedridden in a hospital, surrounded by a large family, between sobs and sad goodbye glances, bearing many memories, some good, some bad, funny moments, sad moments, happy moments, tragic moments, I finally closed my eyes and plunged into the abyss of darkness and what awaited me on the other side was ... An old ex-mercenary hungry for adventure is reincarnated in a world of swords and magic, with no trap powers, just his own strength, wits, and outlandish friends. P.S. I am a totally amateur writer, I write just for fun, I am working on illustrations with another person, I plan to put one on the cover of each chapter reflecting its content. At the moment I already have partially assembled the story, I just need to polish a little, the rhythm in which the chapters appear may vary. The original version in Spanish can be found here for the curious https://www.wattpad.com/myworks/250682744-mi-segunda-vida-en-un-mundo-de-fantas%C3%ADa

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
