I regret it the minute I say it. I know they're not flirting, they're just getting along. I guess after Alec came out as bi-sexual to me, I can't help but see him as a threat. Noah and I may not be together, but that doesn't mean I don't want us together. That definitely doesn't mean I can handle the thought of him being with some one else either.

I spend a little while at my locker, dwindling till the bell goes for Homeroom. Then head towards the classroom slowly, making it just as the second bell goes . "Hey man, what was all that about?" Jaxon queries as I take my seat next to him.

"What d'ya mean?" I ask, playing ignorant to his question.

"The whole we're going to be late thing to Noah" He says, not buying my play dumb act.

"He was jealous of the fact that Noah wasn't paying attention to him. He's too interested in Alec now." Lexi chimes in with her insight.

"I was not jealous of Alec and Noah isn't paying him any extra attention, he just wants to get his grades back up. Believe it or not it's not easy keeping them perfect."

"He into Alec now" Lexi coos, dismissing everything else that I said.

"Why do you think that?" I say nonchalantly, trying my best to fake uninterested.

"By the way he looks at him. I've watched him literally eye-rape poor Alec. Can't blame him though, Alec is hot and since he swings both ways he totally could do that body" Lexi says indifferently as she fixes her nails. I'm grateful she isn't paying any attention to me or she would be able to read the devastation painted across my face.

I clumsily laugh at a failed attempt to hide the hurt in my voice. "Yeah, maybe that would be good for them. Alec is hot and both of them are too sweet for their own good. Honestly though I don't care if he likes Alec. Im the one who asked for us to be just friends remember? I have no right to be jealous." and thats the truth- I don't have any right.

I'm grateful when lunch finally rolls around. I'm starving and I haven't been able to focus on any of my lessons. Noah wasn't in English and I haven't seen him all day, I'm concerned about him. He got out of the hospital yesterday, what if all of this was too much for him? what if he collapsed again?

I make it to the cafeteria in search of Kate for some answers. I near her usual table to see one happy, smiling and laughing Noah. But that's not what stops me in my tracks. It's him being happy, smiling and laughing with Alec. Sitting right there next to him. The pit in my stomach from earlier that was from concern about Noah tightens. But this time its tightening for a whole new reason.

"Come join us Silva" Kate says waving me over to her table. Leaving me the seat on the other side of Noah. I take the seat and am greeted with a bunch of "hellos" I nod in response. Then turn to Noah "where were you in English. I was concerned you collapsed or something." I ask sternly, not even caring if I come across rude or gruff.

Noah offers me a small smile, "I'm fine, there's no need to worry about me Damian" He responds politely. I want to scream at him to stop calling me Damian. Silver is his name for me, he's the only one allowed to call me that, and thats all he's allowed to call me (unless its some other cute pet name). But I don't because I'm the one who asked for us to just be friends, I'm the one that caused the end of our relationship if I can call it that.

"That still doesn't answer where you were. I haven't seen you around all day." I point out. At this Noah cheeks colour that cute shade of pink they go.

"Oh um" he says as he droops his eyes in embarrassment. It's adorable. I can't help but smile and completely dismiss the whole missing in action situation from my head, as I just stare at a bashful Noah. I just watch him look at the ground, trying to divert from my eyes, as he bites those soft lips of his.

"He was with me. I talked to my Homeroom teacher about how I want to help get Noah back on track as quickly as possible. Since I'm currently ahead in majority of my classes, I was excused of my lessons to help Noah today. We are literally spending the whole day in study hall going over the material he missed." Alec offers, in his attempt to be helpful. I see how majority of the table smile at him in admiration. To them it's noble, but to me it's the biggest betrayal of trust.

"You have been an incredible help to me today. I don't know how to repay you." Noah says, smiling his shy smile at Alec.

"Honestly, its been good revision for me too today". Alec says returning the smile. I can't help but glare at Alec over Noah's head.

Alec catches my stare and send me a confused look. "I'm going to get lunch" I say standing up from the table and I begin to walk towards the queue.

"I'll join you."

Within a few long strides Alec is beside me. "What's up man" he asks.

"Nothing"

"Something's up, I know that face"

"I said it's nothing, so it's nothing."

"C'mon, you don't keep stuff from me. You know I;m always here for you. So be honest."

"Fine you want honest. I don't appreciate the guy I have looked up to as an older brother my entire life, jumping on my man the first instance he gets."

"Dude, I'm not trying to jump on anything. If anything, I'm trying to help you, get to know Noah better, I'll be able to put in a few good words. I'm also trying to look out for you, Noah seems like a nice guy, but he got into a mysterious fight that landed him in hospital for a few weeks, you don't need that kind of baggage in your life, so I was checking it out for you."

"That doesn't stop the fact that Noah likes you."

"He does not."

"He does too. You can see it in the way he looks at you. Lexi sees it too."

"Firstly, Lexi see's everything where ever she wants to see it. That girl goes fishing for drama and if there isn't any to fish for she'll make it up herself. Secondly, he likes you. It's clear to see. I've spent the day with him today and somehow we have always ended up on a conversation about you. So don't worry about me, I am not after him. I realise now you two are good together, and yes he may have baggage- but who doesn't?"

I smile at Alec, and apologise for being stupid. Alec has always had my back, he wouldn't stop now, not for a guy. He's not that type of person. We both buy our food and begin to head back to the table.

"What are you doing here fag? Thought you were long gone." i hear someone snarl.

"People like you don't belong here, you shouldn't be here. You shouldn't even exist." Another voice hisses.

"Put him down!" a female screams.

"You son of a bitch, I'm going to kill you?" a familiar male voice says.

"That sounded like Jaxon" Alec says in my ear. I drop my tray and sprint to our table. Jus like expected the commotions coming from there. Noah is pinned up against the wall by , Jaxon is fighting Marc. A few other members of my team are standing beside Chad as they too abuse Noah.

"Let go of him" I yell, running up to Noah.

" I thought you said you two weren't dating" Chad says.

"Just because we aren't dating means this is right. It doesn't mean I am going to stand and watch you victimise someone I call my friend. Let him go Chad."

"Or what? You are going to turn on your team for some fag?" He says as he signals for the rest of the guys to resume their beating of Noah.

"let him go Chad or I swear..."

"....What? You seriously going to pick him over us? We're a team, you don't need him. I can help you with English. You don't need a fag to be your friend, you have tons of friends" Chad snarls back.

"This isn't right, let him go"

"NO-" Then suddenly theres a thud. Chad'd body hits the ground.

"You heard the boy let him go." Ash shouts. Just like that my team members retreat. Alec hs already gone to check up on Noah and take him to the medical room. Jaxon is going with them with a bloodied nose from his fight. Whilst Ash glares at everyone involved.

It's then that I realise I wasn't able to save him. I wasn't able to help the man I love. Yes, love. If I can't do that then I'm useless.
