It's been about a week since Domonique and I have spoken. After the that argument we had everything became so damaged between us. I'd admit things should've went down differently. I don't know how I plan on fixing things, but I'm going to try my best. Today she had a doctors appointment to see the baby, which were the only times we interact. I guess you could say this was my way of showing her I was making an effort to be in my child's life.
I pulled up to the health center and found a decent enough parking spot. Why wasn't she with meShe refuses to let me come pick her up, she either drives her own car or takes the bus. I don't bother her about it too much though, it only irritates her more and more. I got out of the truck and walked inside of the building. She was sitting in the back, legs crossing and fiddling with her fingers. This was something she's always done when we have appointments.
Walking over to her, I sat beside her. "Hey. How you feelingAnything new been happening"
"Hey." She said dryly, not looking up from her fingers. "Besides throwing up everything I digest, nothing is new."
I nodded and that was the conversation. It was more than she's said in a while. As much as I want to tell her I'm sorry for everything, my pride isn't bringing me to do so. Plus, I'm still fucking Tiara so until that stops nothing would be said. On top of that, people around school are getting suspicious about Domonique being pregnant. We've decided on saying she's just gaining weight but, it'll be a minute before that lie comes to light.
"Domonique Knowels The doctor is ready for you now." A nurse spoke, holding the door open.
We both got up and followed the nurse through the door to the room we were assigned. "The doctor will be with you in a second." She said before exiting the room leaving us alone, again.
Domonique hopped up on the table and I sat beside her in the chair. It was quiet again. The way she was fiddling with her fingers even more I could tell she had something to say. But I knew she wouldn't. A few minutes passed before the doctor knocked and walked in.

"How are you all doing today" Doctor King, smiled at the both of us.
She finally looked up with a small smile. "I'm doing fine. I'm just a tad bit tired."
"Sleeping is your friend when your pregnant babydoll. You aren't stressing her out too much are you dad" King looked at me also with a smile on her face.
I chuckled and shook my head. "Nah. I would hope that I'm not."
Although, I'm very sure that I was stressing her out just by breathing at this point. It's only been a week.
"Well, are you ready to see the babyYou should be hitting that eight weeks mark pretty soon." King began lifting up Domonique's shirt a bit, squirting the blue liquid on her stomach. "The baby has a tiny nose now, the inside and outside of its ears are beginning to form."
"Is my baby breathing" Domonique softly asked.
King nodded. "Part of the baby's lungs are actually functioning well. You'll be hearing the heartbeat for the first time today."
I watched as Doctor King turned the monitor on and grabbed the small round stick. She moved it around until we could see the small baby. It definitely was the size of a raisin.
She then moved it over a couple of times until we finally heard some thumbing. Domonique's face instantly lit up like this was the only thing she's been happy about for a while. Seeing her smile and hearing that heartbeat made me smile. I was shocked when she looked at me with that same smile.
"That's our baby, Izzy." She had a few tears in her eyes.
I stood up from the chair and held her hand, looking down at her. "I know, I know."
"You both are so cuteYoung love is beautiful." King said, turning everything off after a while. She wiped the gel off of Domonique's belly. "And here's the sonogram picture. Come back in five weeks and don't be afraid to call if you feel something going wrong or if you have any questions."
Domonique took the picture from her and nodded. "Alright, thank you."

The doctor left the room and I released her hand. She pulled her shirt back down and tucked the picture away in her purse. I helped her down from the table and we walked out towards the exit. As we were about to part ways she stopped in her tracks.
"Hey, Isaiah"
"Yeah"
"Could you drop me off at home"
I nodded. "Of course. Come on."
This was a first and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited. We walked across the street to my truck and got in. I heard that her mother had got out of rehab, a couple of days after our argument. Except she discharged herself, Domonique moved right back in with her. I don't know if her mother is still doing drugs but, I just know I don't want Domonique around that shit. I'd be damn if her mother tries to get her to try that shit.
"Where you stay" I asked, starting the car up.
"At my mama crib."
"She still doing that stuff"
She shrugged. "I don't know. She be in the living room wit' the other addicts. I be in my room minding my business, but I plan on moving soon."
"Addicts They don't be bothering you do they"
"Nah. You done asking me a million questions"
I nodded. "Just checking. If you need anything you know how to reach me."
"Mhm."
It was clear as day that I still cared for her no matter what, there's nothing that could stop that. I wouldn't want anything bad happening to her at all. I'd be dammed if somebody put they hands on her.
"I'ma be out of town for a while, I got some music shit to handle. You gone be good"
Keep in mind the fact we don't talk at all, I was taking advantage of this time to say everything expect what I really needed to say.
"Okay. That's nice, I don't know what you telling me for. Of course, I'ma be good."
"Right." I shook my head, pulling up to the curb at her apartment building. "Aight, this you."
She looked up from her phone and looked out the window. I could tell she hated going in there. "Bye. I'll text you about the next appointment."
"Aight."
I watched her easily get out of the truck and walk up to the building. I waited until I couldn't see her anymore and then pulled off. Time to get back to the streets and back to the bitches. I pulled up to the spot and got out of the truck. Walking through the garage Judah and Tiara were just chilling.
"AyoHow my niece or nephew doing man" Judah asked, looking up from the stack of money he was counting.
"The lil alien aight, we heard the heartbeat today." I responded, plopping down on the warn out couch beside Tiara.
Tiara rolled her eyes. "Why she ain't kill it"
"If you stay some stupid shit one more time, I swear on everything I'ma bust the fuck outta' yo' fucking lip." I straight up told her.
She shrugged. "It don't make no sense to have a baby and not be together. You could've done better at not.." She paused. "I made you get caught didn't I" She chuckled.
I got up from the couch before I did something I was going to regret. "You think you the shit because of that huhThink about this how come she's the one carrying my baby but, yet I wouldn't dare nut in yo' ass and you the one that's my first love. I only known her for not that long and she already pregnant."
"That's the one right there." Judah, burst out laughing. "Nigga stop sitting around here with this shit and go fix yo' damn relationship."
It's going to take some hard work but, I'm prepared to get her back someway and somehow. I know everything between us is damaged, there's always a way to fix it.
