open as I woke from the deep sleep I was in. My body was still tired but I managed to lift my head from the blue covered pillow. I looked around noticing I was in the bed alone, it felt weird. Isaiah slept beside me on my first night here, now I'm all alone. But that's my fault anyways. Throwing the covers from my body and standing to my feet I slipped on my slides.
I heard laughing coming from down the steps. That was something new usually there'd peace and quiet. It's going to take a while to adjust to things around here. Sighing to myself I opened the bedroom door and slowly walked downstairs. From the living room I could see everyone enjoying breakfast in the kitchen. They seemed to be having a family moment and I didn't want to mess it up.
As I was turning on my heels to go back upstairs, Monroe called out my name. "DomoniqueCome join us love." That was just great. I nodded and begin walking into the kitchen area.
"Good Morning" I quickly put on a fake smile.
The small lightskined female opened her mouth first. "Girl, it's past morning. But, I'm Ariana it's nice to finally have another female in this house. Isaiah and Judah think they run this place." She shook her head.
I never would've guessed that Isaiah and Judah we're brothers. They gave off that best friend vibe but, I guess it does make sense.
"Didn't exactly look at the lock, I'm Domonique. It's nice to meet you too." I responded with the same fake smile as before.
Monroe cleared her throat, taking a sip of her orange juice. "Isaiah why don't you and Domonique hang out todaySince Ariana and I have some things to do, wouldn't want her in the house alone."
He shrugged, not looking up from his phone. "I'm sure she got some friends to go hang wit. She ain't hanging wit me though, that's fasho."
"And why is that" Monroe asked, clearly shocked from the answer he had gave.
"I don't want her to damn. Is that so hard for you to acc—"
His sentence was cut short from Monroe reaching across the table, pulling her hand back and smacking the mess out of him. "Watch who the fuck you talking toI ain't one of your friends out in these streets to be playing with."
He didn't say anything. It seemed like the entire room went into an awkward silence. The way he stared at the wall with the angry filled look on his face. His glance with the wall turned towards me. I didn't have anything to do with this. Nor did I ask her to ask if he wanted to hang with me. I was just fine with the idea of staying home, I didn't want to be out anyways.

"Be ready in a hour." He spoke, standing up from the table and exiting the kitchen.
I nodded, watching him walk away. "You didn't have to tell him to bring me along. I would've been cool with staying in the house." I sighed. "And we aren't even on talking terms at the moment." I mumbled.
"Ariana, you may be excused to go ahead and get ready while I speak with Domonique." She smiled.
For a moment I felt like I knew what she was going to bring up. Nothing but the past of course being that she knew about me. I think she might even have known more about me than I do myself. Taking a seat across from her at the table I placed both of my hands on top of it.
"Honey, what's going on with you and that boyYou two were just over each other yesterday, which I even walked in on."
I sighed. "I seen him talking some female yesterday, he called her his baby and all. Then we..." I paused remembering when he slapped me in his truck. That's not something I'd necessarily tell his . "We had an argument in the truck before he dropped me off. Him and Amir have beef, I him and ended up hanging with Amir."
Sure I was leaving a few things out of the picture. There was the part of me feeling heartbroken, skipping school and getting high with Amir. Everything else seemed to be right on he spot.
She nodded, followed by a slight chuckle. "You've always ran back to Amir when things weren't right. He was definitely some kind of comfort for you, when your mother would leave you abandoned he'd be right there beside you." She was going down memory lane when things between Amir and I were solid. It was a shame things had to change so quickly. "Isaiah on the other hand doesn't know how to deal with any emotions. Tiara, the girl you seen him talking with is his first love. Them two were inseparable just like you and Amir. There's always going to be something between them, yes you can have your little jealous moments but it's nothing. Pick who you want to spend your time with — Isaiah will be mad for a while but he'll get over it."
"I don't want to keep running to Amir, it isn't healthy. I'm going to end up doing something I'll regret. Hopefully, spending some time with Isaiah today changes things." Standing from the chair, I inhaled deeply and exhaled. "Thanks for the talk."
"Oh, girl. Don't thank me when we've been having these talks for years."

no.
come tf on...
Reading Isaiah's comment I realized I took a bit well over an hour to get ready. Which most of that time was spent lying back in bed. I decided on not carrying a purse since I didn't know where we'd be going. Tucking my phone into my pocket I walked downstairs and out the door to Isaiah's truck. I got into the passenger seat and buckled myself in. He turned the radio up and pulled off of the curb.
The silence between us was killing me. Plus he kept glancing over at me from time to time. It was easy to tell he didn't want to keep this grudge going. We pulled to a red light and I reached over, turning the radio down.
"Fuck you do—" He started.
"You keep looking at me like you want somethingSo stop having this temper tantrum and talk to me."
"I ain't got shit to say to you."
I chuckled. "ReallyYou just said something to me by saying you ain't got nothing to say to me."
"Yo, shut the fuck up." He gripped the steering wheel, pulling off from the red light.
"Oh you mad mad" I joked, trying to lighten the mood up. "Where we going anyways"
"I ain't mad, you just annoying as fuck." He shrugged. "Studio, then I got shit to take care of."
Annoying? Nah. I nodded and reached over towards the radio, turning it back on. By the end of the day he wasn't going to be mad. That's something I was determined to fix. As for now I was just going to have to deal with it. I mean it wasn't nothing I couldn't handle. It should be noted that if he gave me one bit of attitude, he was getting it right back to him.

Twenty minutes later we pulled up to some random house. I'm guessing this was the studioOr some random trap house. But, I don't think he sells drugs so to say I was confused was right. He parked into the driveway and unbuckled his seat belt. I did the same and hesitated on getting out of the truck. There was a group of males standing and sitting outside of the home. My outfit wasn't necessarily prepared for this scene.
"You wit' me ain't nobody gon' touch you." He reassured me, stepping out of the truck.
Now he wants to say something to meCute. I carefully stepped out of the truck, pulling my shorts down a bit. It was an quick reaction for me to grab onto Isaiah's hand once he came around to my side. He looked taken back by my actions but didn't show it as much. We walked towards the house and the closer we got, the more my anxiety got worst. I looked at the ground and held onto his hand right as we walked up the steps, into the house.
"Damn, keep squeezing it like and you might break my hand." He laughed.
Finally.
"Sorry." I dropped my hand from his. "I just don't like walking between a big group of niggas."
"I'm surprised to hear you say that, the way you be walking around school all big and bad."
I shrugged. "That's school. Nobody is posted up with guns just sitting around."
"You right."
We walked into some room like area with padded walls and a small beat down booth. I don't know why I was expecting him to have some nice ass studio. As we walked further into the room I noticed I was the only female here. Just my luck. He dapped up a few of the guys before about to go into the booth. But, he stopped in his tracks realizing he'd just let me standing there like a deer caught in headlights.
"This Domonique. Don't nobody mess wit' her or else we gon' have some problems. I promise you that." Then he proceeded to walk into the both.
A brownskin male came and politely tapped my shoulder. "You wanna sit downI promise you I don't bite." He smiled.
I nodded, followed by a small chuckle. "Thank you. I'm Domonique but, everyone calls me whatever."
"I think I heard that when Izzy introduced you. Nice to meet you though, I'm Kaalan."
"Never heard nobody named that before. You rap too"
He nodded, with the same smile he had from before. "Something like that but it ain't as strong as his."
seemed way different from Isaiah. The entire time we talked it was nothing but good vibes between us two. I know we had just met but still things were nice. From the corner of my eye I could see Isaiah glancing over at us from time to time. He seemed annoyed but, what's new about that

8:45pm.
"This exactly why I ain't wanna bring your assFuck, dumbass tryna make friends wit' every nigga you see."
We were now standing in the bathroom arguing. I'm sure could hear loud and clear. I wouldn't be surprised if they were lined up outside of the door.
"Excuse meWhy the fuck can't I be friends wit peopleYou don't determine who I'm friends with, Isaiah."
"Around here I do. Ain't none of these niggas I roll wit' good and you wanna be all friendly."
"You're overreacting like hellJust take time the fuck home since you on your period and shit."
"Fuck you meanNah, fuck that. Take your own fucking self home." He spat, opening the door and walking out.
I don't see what the big point was. There wasn't anything to be getting upset about.

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews.
