"Jungkook, come-" Before Taehyung could even continue his sentence, the younger quickly ran away, which lead him dumb founded.
Taehyung couldn't even care less about the bear Jimin gave. Yes, he appreciated it, but right now, there was one thing he needed to fix.
Why did the situation suddenly turned upside down?
There at the empty area of the dormitory, Taehyung saw Jungkook staring at a distance into the bright stars in the sky. He couldn't help but to feel a pang on his heart as he saw tears falling from the other's cheek as he looked up.
"Jungkook..." once again, he chanted his name but in a sweeter tone. Although this time, the younger kept his stare above and didn't even look down.
"Tell me, hyung. Did you come back to me just because of pity?"
"It's not like that, I can explain—"
"I think I already saw everything. Even when we had a small break with our relationship, I can totally see how happy you were with that transfer student." Jungkook sadly smiled as he blinked his eyes to stop his sad tears from falling down. "You didn't have to lie a few hours ago, you could've just told me truth. It won't be easy for me, but at least it would've been less hurtful than knowing you just went back to my side because you felt sorry for me."
Taehyung was speechless, but even so, he turned his palms into fists and bit his bottom lip before retorting back with tears forming at the corner of his eyes. "Jungkook, I haven't told Jimin about our relationship yet! I was shocked as well at what he did. I bet if he knew about our secret, he won't do that."

"But why didn't you tell him? I thought starting tonight we are going to be official?" This time, Jungkook looked at Taehyung straight in the eye to give him a questioning stare. "I even had the will to bring you to my friends tonight, Tae! And if it wasn't such a bad timing or if they weren't drunk, I still won't hesitate to tell them about us!"
Once again, Taehyung fell silent. Jungkook was right, why didn't he tell Jimin about it?
And one specific reason crossed his mind.
"...I-I'm afraid I'll hurt him because I knew he had feelings for me..."
Forcefully, Jungkook wiped his tears and began releasing chuckles. "Afraid?" he looked around to see if there were other people listening, and to their luck, there weren't. "Hyung, that was the exact feeling I felt when Eunbi kissed me without my will on the courtyard. I was afraid that if I pushed her, I will hurt her feelings and I didn't want Hoseok hyung to be mad at me if I had done that, since he has slight feelings for her."
Taehyung scratched his head in mixed confusion and annoyance. "I don't know anymore. Why does our relationship always have to end up this way?! Are we really not meant for each other?"
"I don't know... maybe." Jungkook whispered as a reply, but little did he know that it was audible to the other's ears.
"What? 'Maybe'? Jungkook don't tell me..." the older's eyes widened as he stammered through the next part of his sentence. "A-Are you giving up on us?"
"What if it's for the better?"
As Jungkook said these words, he slowly walked into the dormitory without looking back.
"Jungkook—" Taehyung tried to stop him by reaching to his arm, but as if the other knew, on time, he moved his whole arm away.

"Hyung, don't follow me." Jungkook deadpanned. "I need some time alone."
Taehyung couldn't help but to cry as he watched Jungkook walking to the lobby where everybody partied. Now he didn't know what to do or where to go. Jimin is probably confused on his car right now, waiting for an explanation.
And since it was a holiday today, Taehyung bets that his parents are also celebrating at their house.
Maybe he should take another route to exit the dormitory and go greet his parents a happy new year.
It was early morning so the moon was still up and the scenery around Taehyung as he rode his bike would be dark if it weren't for the street lights illuminating his path and the fireworks exploding beautifully in the sky.
Many people from children to the aged were outside watching the fireworks. Taehyung felt like his problems were slowly disappearing from his mind as he finally reached familiar buildings, because in just a few turns, he'll be already in front of his house.
And he would be happy, just for the rest of the New Year, with his parents.
Although Jungkook wasn't.
Right now, Jungkook was at the corner of the dormitory lobby at the bar area, drinking alcohol to forget what happened.
He was hurt, he really was. He knew that alcohol wasn't the solution to his problems but he just wanted to pass out right now.
On a scale of one to ten, he's probably around eight or nine right now if you would ask him how drunk he was.
His vision starts to get blurry and without his knowing, he's already slurring out incoherent words that had no sense to nobody in particular.
"H-He deserves the best a-actor award. And I thought for a moment things would go back to the way they used to be." He said with a childish laugh at the end as he slapped the bar table where he was learning.
"Hey, glass cup." He held the small cup in his hands and talked to it as if it was a person. "I'm bothered at the fact Taehyung kissed me a few hours ago and now he kissed another person. Am I not handsome enough?"
"What are you talking about? You are handsome as heck." A sweet voice said from his back. Jungkook tried to remember who it was, because the owner's voice sounded familiar. It was on the tip of his tongue, but he can't seem to determine who it was.
"Really? Then I am better than a life sized bear, am I not?"
"Of course you are." The person paused. "Gosh you're so drunk right now, I bet Namjoon will kill Hoseok with his glare after he knew Hoseok left you to be drunk like this."
"Everybody on my squad is missing!" Jungkook childishly flailed his arms around to show that he was upset. "Everybody leaves me anyway."
"No, I'm still here." The person grabbed one of Jungkook's arms, draped it over their own shoulder and dragged him slightly. "Come, I'll bring you to your room."
"Sure." Jungkook hiccuped as he followed the person.
And that was his big mistake that he'll probably regret for a long time.
