《OUR SECRET. ━ TAEKOOK ✓》Chapter 20

it's not over.
"There are no happy endings. Your definition of happy is different from another person's."
The two watched the whole fireworks show hand in hand in the balcony. It felt amazing for them, the atmosphere seemed like tonight was their first official date.
"J-Jungkook..." Taehyung called out looking at the side view of his boyfriend. "Are you really okay that the man earlier knew about our relationship?"
"Why? I thought you wanted somebody else to know that we're together?"
'I might end up breaking a friend's heart.' Taehyung thought as a certain friend appeared in his mind.
"Are you with your friends a while ago?" he asked avoiding the younger one's question.
"Ah, they're downstairs drinking. They told me to join them but I'd rather not get drunk because I was waiting for this moment." Jungkook smiled as he ruffled the older one's hair. "Do you want us to go down and join them? I can talk to them about us... let me just find a timing."
Taehyung gulped and held Jungkook's hand tightly as they walked away from the balcony. "O-Okay."
-
The loud sound of the karaoke echoed around the lobby of the dormitory. Some students were partying with the others while you can totally see a bit of them sleeping at the corner from all the alcohol they've been drinking.
"Oh, it's kookie!" Hoseok jumped away from the small podium and passed the microphone to another guy to run towards Jungkook.
"Hoseok hyung!" the younger one greeted back, but before he can say something more, the alcohol smell from Hoseok's breath made him cover his nose in an instant. "Have you been drinking?"
"This event only happens once a year. Yoongs probably passed out already and I'm really sleepy right now but I want to make the best of tonight." Hoseok shook his head and steadied his stance before continuing his speech. "I can't see clearly, who's that with you?"
Jungkook gulped before answering, he wanted to explain everything slowly. "T-Taehyung..."
"Why are you with him?" the older one asked once again as he rubbed his eyes. "Oh and by the way, have you seen Eunbi? You wouldn't expect what she decided to wear tonight. I've been looking everywhere for her."

Taehyung clenched his teeth at the sound of that girl's name being mentioned right in front of him. But it's okay, him and Jungkook are the only thing important right now, not anybody else.
"I didn't see her." Jungkook replied. "L-Look hyung, I have something to tell you—"
"Then where the heck is Namjoon?! Don't tell me he's been making his way to her already that greedy man..." Hoseok began to lightly tantrum as he looked around to find Namjoon on the crowds.
"Kookie..."
Jungkook looked left to see Taehyung anxiously twirling his fingers with his.
"Let's try another time. Hoseok hyung is drunk and would probably react more than he needs too... plus your other friends are not here."
"Are you okay with that?"
"Hmm, let's try another time."
-
Taehyung and Jungkook both decided to spend the hour by dancing with the music and occasionally taking a shot of alcohol if they're tired.
The crowd didn't even notice them together, they looked like they were just best friends hanging out.
Due to the loud sound of the music, Jungkook didn't even hear the beeping sound from Taehyung's pocket, which signaled that he had a text message.
In an instant, Taehyung grabbed his phone to see who it was. And as he did, his eyes widened in surprise.
He completely forgot about Jimin.
"Hey Taehyung! Thank goodness the traffic was gone. I'm almost at the dormitory, where should we meet?"
Taehyung debated if he should still continue on with his promise with Jimin. If he himself didn't like people who didn't keep their promises, why would he do the same?
But at the same time, he didn't want his moment with Jungkook to end.
While his boyfriend wasn't looking, Taehyung quickly texted back a response.
erased.
erased.
His conscience was striking him, and without even thinking twice, he clicked 'send' to the next message he typed.
"Jin hyung is sleeping in our dorm room. I'll go to you instead."
"Who are you texting?" Jungkook asked as he noticed that Taehyung was busy on his phone.
"U-Um Jungkook..." he decided to avoid the question and began to ask for permission. "Is it okay if I go to Jin hyung to watch the encore firework show?"

"It's okay. Just you and him though?"
"Y-Yeah..."
He lied. Now he can't help but to feel much more down about it because Jungkook gave him the permission to go.
"-Just text me if you want me to go back quickly here in the lobby." 'Jungkook will get mad if I told him I'll watch the fireworks with Jimin, he won't if I told I'll be going with Jin hyung.'. he thought the rest to himself.
Suddenly, his thoughts were cut off after he received another message.
"I'll be in the parking lot after five minutes. See you."
-
As Taehyung walked alone to the parking lot area, he looked behind him to see he wasn't being followed.
For some reason, he felt anxious in a way.
When he saw a car light giving brightness to where he was, he waved and gave off a bright smile.
The driver's window went down an it revealed Jimin who was casually dressed up.
"Hello, Happy new year!" he greeted as he closed the engine.
Taehyung looked at his phone watched and chuckled. "1:52 AM, not bad. I thought you were going to arrive later than that."
"Well, thanks for waiting." Jimin smiled as he motioned for Taehyung to step away from the car door so he could go out. "I told you I was going to bring you a gift as well, didn't I?"
"Oh, right." Taehyung hummed in response, he also forgot about the thing he reminded before Jimin left.
"Of course my additional birthday gift for you and new year's gift is supposed to be pretentious because I'll make it one." Jimin said as he walked out of the car but went inside once more to grab something from the back seat.
And that something wasn't just a small thing.
It was a life sized lion stuffed toy, almost their heights and wide enough for Taehyung to have a hard time hugging it.
"Here is my present, hope you like it!"
Taehyung had to hug it tight so the lion won't fall into the ground and have some dust all over it.
"T-Thank you s-so much Jimin..." he thanked positioning the lion's head smartly so he could see the other guy. Deep inside of him, Taehyung was thinking how he can hide this toy from Jungkook or how he could hide about the person who gave him this.
"I'm glad you like it!"
"I don't have a gift for you though... if only I knew you were going to give me something this—"
"You don't need to."
Slowly, Jimin stepped closer to Taehyung and trapped him in between the car and his body.
Thinking of Jungkook, the proximity of him and Jimin suffocated him, plus including the stuffed toy being squeezed in between them, he himself could tell that his mind wasn't really working right now.
"J-Jimin...?" he called out softly with a hint of worry in his tone.
"You told me we were in a 'friends that are dating status' and I know we'll end up in this situation not so soon... As my new year gift? Your presence is more than enough." Jimin cupped the other's cheeks with a smile that even Taehyung thought was cool, but if somebody saw them like this, then that somebody could probably misunderstood.
"L-Let go of me I have something to tell you. You can't—"
But yes he did.
Jimin moved closer and captured Taehyung's lips, locking it with his which made the other froze in shock.
'Push him away, push him.' Taehyung thought to himself, but he was trapped in between of hurting a friend's feelings or lying to his boyfriend.
He didn't care about the lion anymore, he placed both of his hands on Jimin's shoulders to push him away as hard as he can.
"Hey, I thought you will need some drinks so—"
But Taehyung was too late. Before he could even push Jimin's shoulders away, the sound of glasses breaking as they hit the ground overwhelmed his ears.

But somehow, I had ended up worlds away instead. Far, far away from home, in a world that should have been just like mine, running and fighting for my life in a war I didn't understand. None of us knew why or how we were there or what we were ultimately supposed to accomplish. But that didn't really matter, did it? In my new world, there was only one rule: survive! --- Hey all, I'm Ken, and this is my first time sharing a story online. This story is heavily inspired by Terror Infinity, if it wasn't obvious from the title. I've been interested in making a Terror Infinity story for a while now, but I have a lot of problems with its system and mechanics, so I decided to just make my own system instead of trying to adapt to that one. If you find any mistakes, typos, or awkward phrasing please let me know in the comments so I can fix it! I hope everyone can enjoy this story but, even if you don't, please let me know why and what you think I can do to improve. Thank you. (The original picture for the cover can be found here)
