Environment is the foundation and support of human existence and survival and the guarantee of sustainable human development; environmental protection has undoubtedly become a common understanding and development strategy of all countries of the world. Now humankind is striving into the historical process of postindustrial society and is trying to reach rebalance with environment in later stage of development. All countries need to perform respective duties and obligations in environment governance, in joint efforts to plan economic development, social progresses and environment protection to realize mutual wins and sustainable development of the world and to create an Earth homeland for harmonious co-existence of humankind and environment.

Global Environmental Issues is a phrase that refers to the effect on the climate of human actions on fire of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas and large-scale deforestation, which cause emissions to the atmosphere of large amounts of 'greenhouse gases', of which the most important is carbon dioxide. Such gases take up infrared radiation emitted by the Earth's surface and act as blankets over the surface keeping it warmer than it would otherwise be. Connected with this warming are changes of climate. The basic science of the 'greenhouse effect' that leads to the warming is well implicit. More detailed understanding relies on numerical models of the climate that integrate the basic dynamical and physical equations describing the complete climate system. Many of the likely characteristics of the resulting changes in climate such as more frequent heat waves, increases in rainfall, increase in frequency and intensity of many extreme climate events can be identified. Substantial uncertainties remain in knowledge of some of the feedbacks within the climate system that affect the overall magnitude of change and in much of the detail of likely regional change. Because of its negative impacts on human communities including for instance substantial sea-level rise and on ecosystems, global warming is the most important environmental problem the world faces. Adaptation to the inevitable impacts and mitigation to reduce their magnitude are both necessary. International action is being taken by the world's scientific and political communities. Because of the need for urgent action, the greatest challenge is to move rapidly to much increased energy efficiency and to non-fossil-fuel energy sources.

Environmental protection has become a national issues as well as international issue in recent years. Though scientists and environmentalists have recognized the magnitude and significance of environmental problems for decades, it is only recently that the media has turned to highlight issues like Minamata disease (Japan), Bhopal tragedy (India), greenhouse effect, deforestation, global warming and waste generation. Creating a sustainable development must be implemented as a reactive plan. World Business Council for Sustainable Development has defined sustainable development as "form of progress that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs". Therefore, to make sustainable development and environment, tentative programs and campaigns to enforce environment awareness must be emphasized as vital programs prior to several cases due to poor environmental conditions.
