I stared down at the neck ties that were layed out on my bed, pretending I didn't just spend the last 10 minutes here trying to choose one.
There was a red one, a blue one and a range of black ones, which one to wear?
"You still haven't chosen?" I heard before a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. I looked back to see Idris smiling at me as I reached up to kiss his cheek. "You know it's not that big of a deal, it's just a party, we've had plenty before." he says as he nuzzles my neck leaving a trail of little kisses.
"It is so a big deal. We're having another child, that's not something to take lightly." I said as I turned in his arms. I frowned at his pout and started littering his face with kisses in an effort to make him smile.
When I heard giggles come from his lips I smiled and pulled back. "Now tell me what's wrong darling, you were looking forward to this party for weeks."
He frowned again and looked me in the eyes, his glasses hanging low on his nose. "I'm just scared. The last time I was pregnant it didn't exactly go so well."
A frown of my own made its way onto my lips as I remembered our first pregnancy with Elizabeth. To cut things short she nearly killed him, at the time we had no choice but to get her delivered earlier only goddess knows what would've happened if we hadn't.
I spent many sleepless nights during that time, the thought of loosing Idris had crushed me deeply and I had fallen into a deep depression. I wouldn't let Idris out of my sight, even when he was in bed after giving birth and couldn't technically move I still didn't leave him. He had looked so sickly, for weeks he looked to be on his last breath. It was why we had waited over two hundred years to have another one.
But this time would be different, I wouldn't let that happen again.

"Your spacing out again." he mused pulling me from my thoughts.
I cupped Idris' cheeks, making sure he was looking at me. "I won't let anything happen to you, and what happened last time most certainly won't happen again."
"And how can you be so sure of that? I mean last time was just Elizabeth, we're having twins this time the chance of complications are higher than ever." he said sadly.
"It won't happen again because I said it won't. Besides this time I've instructed a witch along with our coven finest doctors to be watching over you." I said with determination.
I think he bought it just a little as a smile stretched over his features. His hands tightened around my waist as he pulled me in for a kiss, I savoured his taste until he pulled away again.
I smiled fondly at him,"Okay, so what tie should I use?"
"Hmm..", his eyes scanned the display before he picked one up. "I like the red one, it matches your eyes. Besides you wear too much black." he stated before handing me the tie and sauntering towards the door. "Be down soon, people are starting to arrive."
"I will, oh and baby?"
"Yeah?" he said stopping in the doorway.
"You can never wear too much black."

"I'm telling you it's bullying at this point. He's doing it on purpose." Carden groaned, he had been none stop complaining about the literal dozens of hickeys Ren had left on his neck.
He claimed it was a deliberate act of bullying to get everyone to laugh at him, which people were doing. But Ren Masters was a very dominant man and hates when people try to take what's his.
It was understandable as over the years many Vampires had tried to get their way with Carden, he was one of the more handsome Vampires of our time. Nevertheless this only fueled Ren's passion to show the world who he belonged to, that Carden was his and his alone. Personally I found it quite funny seeing his frustration.

"You can't fool us you know, we all know you love his little claims on you." I said causing out little group to chuckle.
"Fuck you Vlad, I don't see you making any claims on Idris." he grumbled, failing to hide the blush that covered his cheeks.
"I think impregnating him is enough of a claim for anyone's eyes." Aldon snickered which made everyone laugh and Idris glances up at me with a knowing smile.
Aldon who had once been Idris' tormentor ended up becoming one of our closest friends. It had been found out that he was being abused by his father for years and after the truth came out he had crumbled into a million apologies for the way he had treated Idris and others in the coven. It had taken a while but we forgave him, and now he stood here laughing along with us.
"Ye about that..." Idris trailed off which caught our friends attention.
I took this as my cue and whistled to get everyones attention, a chorus of groans filled the air as my whistle no doubt troubled their over sensitive hearing.
"I would like your attention please. Tonight we gathered you all together for a long overdue occasion, since I've been leader of this coven for over 150 years we've had to deal with a number of challenges and as your leader I couldn't be more proud to be standing in front of any other coven then I am right now." smiles filled the room lifting my spirits more.
"But today is not just any other occasion, it is an occasion that has been put off for many years now." I paused to look at Idris, his eyes swimming with love as our bond soared. "And it is why with great pleasure that I am pleased to announce the second pregnancy of my mate and I."
The room erupted in cheers and cries of happiness, Vampires flooding our covens link with congratulations and questions about the baby.
"We are expecting twins by the end of the year and no doubt they will make us and this coven proud." I turned to Idris who was already looking at me, tears falling from his eyes.
"I love you so much." he whispered as he reached up to kiss me lovingly. I melted into his arms as I deepened the kiss making him moan softly into my mouth.
"I love you too baby, I always will." I said kissing his forehead.
"Congratulations you two." We turned to see Ren standing in front of us with his arm wrapped around a blushing Carden. "So twins huh, how did that happen?"
"I've been asking myself the same thing. Having one is hard enough but two at the same time..." Idris replied with a shiver.
"It's about time you guys had kids, plump yourself up a bit Carden." I teased as Carden glared at me half heartedly.
"We aren't really one for kids to be honest. I'm happy enough to just be with Ren." Carden mumbled into Ren's neck when he pulled him into a hug. He may be my fierce second in command but he was a complete softy with his mate, which I never got tired of teasing him about.
"Ye, we're just happy to be with each other, no need really to start a family." Ren replied tiredly, nuzzling his face into Carden's hair.
I gave him a knowing smile and nodded. "We understand. Anyways I think we're going to turn in early for tonight, enjoy the rest of the party." I said, they both smiled at us and gave us one more congratulations before I was pulling Idris up the stairs.
"I think a warm bath with some candles is in order."
Idris chuckled and pressed into my side, soaking in my touch. "I wouldn't mind that, do we have rose pettles?" he asked and I chuckled.
"Yes I think we do."
