When did our problems get so small?

"What store should we go to first?" Harper asks.

"Bath and Body Works!" Layla and Meg say at the same time. They look at each other and then laugh.

"Okay let's go!" I say leading the group.

When we walk in we're immediately hit with a bunch of fragrances at once. But a few seconds later I get used to it and continue looking around.

"This is the best sale of the year!" Harper says looking at the clearance bins.

"Pumpkin?" Meg asks.

Lyla turns to her and asks, "Ya?"

"Which one smells better?" She asks spraying two scents on the testing paper.

"I think this one is perfect for you!" Lyla says pointing at the first option. "It's a nice mist and won't be like an annoying smell."

"Thanks pumpkin." Meg says kissing her lightly.

"Should I buy this?" Harper asks holding up a bottle of Winter Candy Apple lotion.

"You already have two bottles of that scent." I say laughing.

"Ya well... I should have every design right?" She asks.

"Sure." I say laughing.

I keep looking around until the rest of the girls find something they want. We get in line and Lyla asks me, "Do you not want anything? Or did you forget your wallet? I can buy you something and you can just pay me back later..."

"Oh no I just didn't really find anything I wanted. But thanks bestie!" I say smiling.

"You know I alway got you guys." Lyla says smiling.

"Awww!" Harper says bringing us into a group hug.

Meg tries to give us space but we bring her into the hug. "You're one of us now!" Lyla says.

"Can we go to the food court? I'm starving." Harper says.

"Same!" I say starting to walk towards the food court.

"Sure!" Meg and Lyla say shrugging.

I decide to get a chicken sandwich and get in line. Why would I want to change something I know I like?

After I receive my order I look around the food court to see where we're sitting.

I sit beside Harper and ask, "What'd you get?"

"Orange chicken, rice, a cookie, and a drink!" She says smiling.

"You got the kids meal?" I ask laughing.

"I wanted a cookie and a drink...." She says shrugging.

A few minutes later Meg and Lyla come with their food. "Let us feast!" Lyla says looking towards the ceiling.

We all sit in silence as we stare at Lyla and she bursts laughing.

"Anyway are you guys coming to my house for New Year's Eve?" I ask.

"Of course! Where else would we be?" Lyla asks.

"Is your mom making those cake rolls?" Harper asks.

"Yep!" I say nodding.

"Then I'm totally there." She says shoving a spoonful of rice and chicken into her mouth.

We all look at Meg to see if she's coming and she asks, "Why are you all looking at me?"

"Are you coming to the party?" Harper asks.

"You should! The whole gang will be there!" Lyla says smiling.

"I'm invited?" Meg asks with a smile.

"Of course!" I say.

"Scarlett's dad makes the best ribeye!" Lyla says trying to convince her.

"Okay!" Meg says nodding.

We all finish our food and then go back to shopping.

After I park my car in the garage, I walk inside the house and see Jade playing some game on the computer.

"Did you buy anything?" Jade asks exiting the game.

"Just some rings..." I say shrugging.

"Ooh can I see?" She asks excitedly.

"Sure." I say laughing.

I take them out of the bag and hand her them. "I also bought you a necklace!" I say handing her the piece of jewelry.

She sets down the rings and takes the necklace. "It's so pretty! Thanks sis!" Jade says giving me a hug.

"No problem!" I say hugging her back.

"You have dinner already?" I ask.

"...Ya..." She says going back to the computer.

"Oh ya? What'd you have?" I ask.

"A sandwich..." She says quickly.

"Liar we ran out of bread." I say raising an eyebrow at her.

"Fine I didn't eat anything..." She says frowning.

"You know mom's going to take away the computer from you if she finds out you forgot to eat dinner... Don't start drama with mom." I say.

"Oh ya! I should have dinner now..." She says shutting the computer down.

I laugh and head upstairs. No I'm tired. Not tonight.
