《Stocking Up On Love》9| Turning Out

Do you have instructions?
Maybe I'm stuck on what I see on tv
I grew up on Disney
But this don't feel like Disney

I munch on a cookie and sigh...I can't believe Monday is already here... Well I already ate one so there's no going back.
I head back upstairs to change and go to the bathroom.
Then I head back downstairs to the garage. I take my time driving and then park in the school's parking lot. I have ten minutes before the first bell rings so I decide to just chill in my car.
I can't! I'm not ready to be rejected. I would reject myself. So why would anyone want to actually date me? I'm pretty lame so...
I look at the time and sigh. I push the door open and see people starting to walk to their class or head to their lockers. I make sure to put in my earbuds and slowly head to class. Then I slip inside the classroom.
I sit down at a desk, in the back, near the door and use my phone until class starts. I glance around the room and spot Ethan. Yep!
I spot Ethan and he makes eye contact with me. I immediately look back at my phone and hear the teacher is about to start class.
It's finally lunch and this time I know Red can't avoid me. I close my locker and then shout, "Red!" I see her eyes widen and she scurries in the opposite direction.
Hunter meets me at my locker and says, "Dude we need to talk."
"About what?" I ask confused.
We sit down at a random lunch table and I ask, "Where's Red and the rest of the girls?"
"What happened between Scarlett and you?" He asks.

"Nothing!" I say hiding a blush.
"Well Scarlett didn't want to sit with you today. So Layla and Harper decided to have some girl time during lunch. What did you do?" He asks.
"Well uh... Red kissed me. So of course I kissed her back." I murmur.
He smiles and says, "Congrats bro! Why aren't you guys talking though?"
"I don't know... She just started to ignore me and I don't know. She doesn't like me that way." I say sighing.
"She definitely likes you. That's for sure." He says laughing.
"How do you know that?" I ask.
"Whenever she sees you or talks about you her whole face lights up. You do too." He says.
"Just talk to her." He says finishing his lunch.
"That's turning out to be a lot easier said than done. I don't want to get rejected... That's all." I say.
"I highly doubt you're getting rejected. Like 40%." He says. My eyes widen and he raises his hands. "I don't know these things! Layla and Harper probably know more." He says.
I park my car and see Red's already inside working. I walk inside the cafe and she glances at me. I hold my breath and continue to walk towards the counter.
I exhale since I see she has her earbuds in. That's the universal sign of don't talk to me. In her case it probably means, "Ethan I hate you and never want to talk to you again."
A few customers come in and we start to work on their orders. I hand Red one of the orders hoping she won't ignore it. She turns to me but doesn't look at my face. Taking the order from me I see her hide a tiny smile and I sigh.

Maybe everything will work out in the end? We continue to do the same routine, just without the talking.
When our shifts are over Red and I get our backpacks and leave the cafe. I try to talk to her but nothing comes out of my mouth. So I close my mouth and turn to get into my car.
Maybe... I'm probably gonna chicken out though.

The Legend of Fanaura: Cursed
'Hey, need some help there?' An unfamiliar voice echoed through her mind, and she startled, losing her grip on the red phial. It rolled through the grass, away from her. "Oh shoot!" she yelped, and her focus diverted from her opponent for a split second, but it was enough to prove fatal. The beast took advantage of her distraction and lunged towards her. She tried to back away, but in her haste, she stumbled and fell. She looked at the beast, inches away from her, and shut her eyes in fear. She raised her arms to cover her head, even if she knew it was futile. Yet seconds passed, and no pain came. Then she heard the beast let out a pained yelp. She opened her eyes to the familiar sounds of battle before her. A tall man stood before her, locked in battle with the beast. He wielded a sword as long as his height, yet it didn't seem to hinder him in the slightest. She watched in awe as he swung the obviously heavy sword around as if it were light as a feather. His movements were swift and precise, and it didn't take long before the beast fell to the ground, motionless. “You alright there, miss?” The man sheathed his sword across his back, before turning to her. Her eyes widened when she heard his voice. It was the same voice who had that had spoken into her mind and the cause of her almost-fatal distraction. "You...!" she hissed.***She was the chosen one to end the war between the Goddesses when they were supposed to take care of the world balance. After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery. Släpp aldrig taget!
"Jag önskade du dog istället!" Orden sved.
