Unobtrusively, the sound of music filled the partially awkward air of the car as the vehicle stilled at the fluorescent red light.
Seowoo cleared her throat, shifting uncomfortably in her seat as her eyes flickered restlessly around- the night air being lit up by streetlights and headlights.
Chenle seemed to be deep in thought, elbow against the car window with his head resting on his hand- the other one steering expertly and languidly.
A small breathy sigh escaped her lips, relaxing in the seat and resting her head back on the headrest, red headlights illuminating their features from in front of them.
"You know," she began, her smooth nostalgic filled voice began, earning the attention of Chenle who's eyes skimmed over her briefly before begining to drive.
"My life used to be so depressing. Like I know I'm only seventeen but thinking back...it feels like that was a different person. I just wish things happened differently you know?"
"Yeah...I mean experiences in life shape you and you're constantly changing. I think everyone feels like their past is something they regret."
"Do you think? I don't know...it's like in school I used to get walked all over, I was an easy target to bully."
"You got bullied?" He asked, not really expecting her to say so. She nodded, her teeth biting at the inside of her cheek unconsciously.
"It wasn't severe or anything... I was the quiet kid and apparently it was cool to pick on me."
"...does it still happen?"
"No, I'm glad it doesn't. I think I grew more of a backbone when I turned like 14, back then I thought everything would be that way forever. Honestly, I thought the little hardships I went through was the end of the world for me."
Chenle's naturally pink stained lips pulled up as he could relate to what she was saying.
"But as you get older you realise those things don't matter and there was literally no need to be so panicked over it."
"For real, like the amount of times I'd freak out over one thing and then in two days time it literally didn't affect me whatsoever." She spoke, glancing at the boy. "Have you ever been to one of these autumn fairs?"
The black haired boy shook his head, keeping his eyes on the road ahead while his shining white teeth grazed against the silver lip ring.
"No, I've heard of it though...Jeno takes his niece."
Seowoo nodded before setting her eyes on the trees that violently swayed.
"I didn't think it would be this cold today, I swear the weather app doesn't even work properly." She muttered distastefully, pulling her knee up to tie her laces.
Chenle's eyes darted over to her foot on the leather seat and bit his tongue from saying anything, sharply exhaling and averting his gaze.
The oblivious girl continued to tie her laces, tongue poking out from her lips as she did them.
"Oh my God, Lele you know they have these tubs of sweets at this one stall here- it's literally like heaven." She spoke excitedly, tucking the strand of hair behind her ear as she sat up straighter in her seat.
Eyes glued to the bright lights and big signs- the view of tall large rides peeking over the expanses of the distance. Her face immediately lit up, gasping as soon as he parked the car and Seowoo wasted no time in hurriedly getting out.
Chenle clicked his tongue disapprovingly as the girl already began to gravitate towards the gates like a moth to light.

His eyes flickered over to the groups of people walking towards the gates then to Seowoo who was walking alone and it left him on edge.
She halted, spinning around and motioning the boy over frantically- her feet impatiently gently stomping on the ground excitedly.
"Hurry up!" She nagged, him growing closer and Seowoo turned back around.
She clapped her hands together as the loud music boosted through the speakers that vibrated through the ground and sent tingles up her body.
Almost like thunder, the loud music blocked out every other sound apart from the exhilarating screams of those on rides. Chenle could feel his heart sync up to the beats of the sound.
His eyes trained on the girl a few steps ahead of him, walking with almost no spatial awareness as her eyes were open wide in awe- lips parted slightly.
The unaware girl almost walked into a group of adults if it wasn't for Chenle's large firm hand on her waist to move her to the side out of the way.
She jolted back into reality, craning her head back to look up at Chenle despite the butterflies swarming inside her.
"Watch where you're going, you'll trip over or walk into someone." He spoke, narrowing his eyes at her.
Seowoo flashed him a big toothy grin which told him she didn't give a care about his words- a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Where should we go on first?" She spoke loudly.
Due to the deadly loud music, she was unable to hear what Chenle had said, turning around to face him with her eyes squinted incase she could manage to lip read.
But no, she wasn't skilled in that unfortunately.
She pulled a confused face and the boy sighed, pulling on her arm as she stumbled forward- Chenle's head dipping down till his warm breath blew gently against her ear which made a shiver tingle up her back.
"Wherever you want to go." He repeated, his low smooth voice went heard this time and Seowoo's fingers subconsciously had gripped onto the material of the bottom of his jacket.
He pulled away and Seowoo hummed to herself, tapping her finger on her chin thoughtfully.
"Let's go to the bumper cars!" She exclaimed, already hurriedly walking off.
"Wai-" Chenle began but she had already weaved though the crowd and disappeared. "This girl." He muttered irritatedly under his breath.
The boy began to push through the crowd, trying to keep his eyes open in case he saw her- internally panicked.
Thankfully, he caught sight of her half up half down hair and navy blue jacket- his pace quickening till he reached her. Chenle's fast reflexes kicked in as he reached out and clasped a hand over her wrist to stop her.
Seowoo jerked forward at the pull and turned to face a not so happy Chenle.
"Are you crazy? Do you know how dangerous it is to just run off Seowoo, anyone could take you or something. Stay next to me and don't move please." He ranted angrily. "It's like I'm babysitting you."
She rolled her eyes.
"I'm not a baby Chenle."
"You're not even looking where you're going and there's no need to rush around." He pointed out and she huffed.
"You're taking too long, it's not my fault."
"Just look where you're going okay? Stay near me too." He warned and the girl sighed harshly on purpose to add a dramatic effect.
"Okay but Chenle?"
"Yeah?" He replied, glancing down at the girl who had a smirk on her lips.

"Your hand looks heavy, I'll hold it for you."
The fact his heart immediately lurched at her words and he froze up sent Seowoo bursting out into laughter. Her giggle carrying through the air as he felt the cold breeze brush against his red hot cheeks.
"Oh my God, you're blushing!" She exclaimed pointing to his cheeks and he scowled, pushing past her to walk in front of her.
"Hey, wait for me! What happened to staying by your side!" Seowoo called out as Chenle shook his head to shake off the scorching hot blush.
The girl jogged over to him, reaching his side and not giving him time to speak as she slipped her warm smaller hand in his and tugging on it.
As soon as their hands made contact, a warmth spread through his chest and he felt the lump in his throat grow.
"Come on!" She urged, hand in hand leading him towards the destination.

"I think I have whiplash from the bumper cars." She groaned, rubbing her shoulder from when it hit Chenle harshly on impact of being ran into.
"You gotta admit, my driving skills were good." Chenle boasted and she rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, yeah whatever."
Chenle stuffed his cold hands into the pockets of his jacket, eyes roaming over the scenic view of happy euphoric people making lifelong memories together.
"I haven't had this much fun in ages." She admitted with a smile that hadn't left her lips since they had gotten there.
"Me too." He agreed, smiling himself as he met her eyes.
Seowoo felt the cold air slicing against her skin, making goosebumps arise on her and inch closer to the boy- biting her lip to conceal her grin and played it off as if it was no big deal as she slid her arm to link onto his own that was by his side.
She felt his muscles tense automatically, not that he made an effort to look at her because he was trying so hard to fight against the blush threatening to appear.
The girl had to force herself not to break out into a grin as she hoped he wouldn't push her away or something- instead he relaxed after a while and the warmth radiating off of him felt perfect to her.
"Hey, let's wait in line for food." She suggested, pointing to the stalls of different types of food. Chenle nodded in agreement, realising how hungry he had gotten.
As they were waiting in the line, the music had quietened down as they weren't near the rides and instead the eating area was much more relaxed and serene.
Seowoo's arm was still hooked through his as his hand remained in his pocket, neither of them broke away and it had just become comfortable at this point.
The girl's eyes were trained ahead of her, glancing at the couple in front who looked madly in love and she couldn't help but smile at them.
Unfortunately, the line was a little long and there would be a wait yet Seowoo was too happy to care- leaning her head blissfully against his shoulder of his comfortable padded coat.
Chenle glanced down, seeing her red nose and cheeks from the cold and the grazed smile on her lips, making him smile to himself too as they enjoyed the moment and each other's company.
"I like spending time with you."
Seowoo lifted her head up to see him already looking down at her.
"Really?"
He nodded.
"I mean...the boys are sometimes fun to be around but they're mostly boring but you're different."
"Yeah, I'm not a boy." She retorted and he shook his head at her response as if he didn't expect any less.
"Whatever Angel, I was actually trying to be nice."
"I'm joking~ and you don't need to try to be nice, just be yourself. Wise words from yours truly." She clicked her fingers and pointed at herself as he laughed at her.
"Let's play hook a duck after."
"Why?" He scrunched his nose up. "That's for kids."
"Yeah, I'm a kid for approximately a month." She spoke. "Not that I'm counting."
"What day is your birthday?" He asked.
"October 20th. You?"
"November 22nd."
"Oooh, I'm a Libra- what are you?"
He scoffed. "Why would I know."
She rolled her eyes at him. "Of course."
"Random but Loki reminds me of my old dog."
"Really?"
She nodded, glancing up at him.
"She passed away when I was nine but I love Loki he's literally the best dog in the world."
"He really is, takes after his owner." Chenle smirked and Seowoo nodded enthusiastically.
"You're the best dog I know Chenle."
"Fuck off." He grumbled as she laughed at him, resting her head back against his shoulder whilst clutching his arm.
"They remind me of us when we were first together, they look so cute together."
Seowoo glanced to the side to see an older girl talking to her boyfriend about the two. Immediately, she looked at Chenle who also heard.
It was noticeable, the smile pulling on the corner of his lips as he tried to hide it- looking down and pretending to be interested in the ground in case he made a fool of himself.
"Are you my appendix?" She began suddenly making his brows furrow, snapping his head up to look at her. "Cuz I wanna take you out."
"What the hell?" He laughed, not expecting that to come out of nowhere.
"If you were a transformer, you'd be Optimus Fine."
"Oh my god-" he groaned.
"Are you a bank loan cuz you've got my interest."
Chenle sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger.
"You're so embarrassing." He muttered and she shrugged.
"Or you're just flustered~" she teased and he scoffed heavily.
"Who me? Nope." He denied and she unconvincingly nodded slowly.
"Sureee. Says the blush on your cheeks Mr Zhong."
"I don't know what you're talking about, this is my natural face Miss Seowoo."
"Oh! Wait I have one. Do you have an inhaler? Because you took my breath away."

The two had already spent two hours there together, joking around and generally having fun.
"Okay, that's not fair." She whined, pushing Chenle as he laughed at her.
"You're so bad." He stated as she tried to throw darts at the board.
The girl glared at him and huffed.
"Only one dart left." The man said and Seowoo had already given up.
"I won't get it, this is useless." She groaned and Chenle clicked his tongue in disapproval.
He walked over to her, the warmth of his chest radiating off of him and onto her back as he stood behind her.
Chenle grasped her hand in his, leaning forward slightly so he could see- her mind and heart going into overdrive from the close proximity.
His cheek basically brushing against hers and she thought she was going into cardiac arrest.
"There." He said triumphantly, leaning away from her. "I never miss." He winked.
Seowoo's mouth fell agape.
"Wow, well I never..." She trailed off and Chenle raised his brows.
"Mm, you what?" He urged her knowing she had nothing to say.
"Shut up Lele, I'll deck you in the face."
"Go for it Angel."
The two bickered as they made their way to the sweet stall.
Seowoo's eyes fell to the worker as she politely greeted him, his name tag reading
"Hi." She greeted and he did too.
"What would you like?" Xiaojun asked, eyeing the girl and Chenle as if he knew them.
Seowoo hummed before turning to glance at the boy who seemed uninterested.
"What do you want?" She asked and he shrugged.
"You get what you want, I don't want anything."
"You sure?"
Chenle nodded in response as Seowoo turned back to Xiaojun.
As Seowoo was telling the male what she wanted, Chenle noticed his stare raked over the length of her figure tantalisingly.
Chenle's jaw clenched, stare hardening as he stepped forward.
"Don't worry, I'll pay for it." He interjected before Seowoo could even speak up
After he had paid, Chenle walked over to the girl with the big bag of sweets she picked out.
"I'll pay you back!" She exclaimed, happily grabbing the bag to pull out the first bag of sweets.
"Don't worry about it, it's fine." He spoke as they began to walk, her holding out one of them out to him.
He eyed it before taking it as she contently chewed on the gummy sweet.
"They have that shooting game here, you'd be good at that." She pointed out at the stall where no one was able to hit the target.
"That's so cute~" she cooed, eyes glued to the massive bear hanging up on the stall.
Chenle analysed the way her eyes glinted with longing for the bear.
"When I was little I always wanted one but never won at anything so Jeongmin promised me that he'd steal one without anyone looking."
Chenle eyed the stall before stalking over to it.
"Where are you going? I thought we were going back home." She whined, following after him lethargically as he paid for one round.
"Here's two bullets, good luck on getting it- it's rare to win." The man spoke smugly and Chenle's lips pulled up into a smirk- his lip ring shining in the moonlight.
"Yeah, I bet." Chenle muttered wryly.
Expertly, Chenle loaded the gun with the fake bullets and immediately began to aim accurately.
"Baby I wanted that bear too, why didn't you win?" Seowoo heard someone say.
"Honey, it's impossible! I've already tried fifteen times."
Chenle's face was blank, his actions calculated well as his finger pulled on the trigger, the bullet immediately hitting the target head on leaving everyone stunned before he took another shot at a further target without even batting an eyelid.
Seowoo had to conceal her grin, not wanting to look suspicious and the man behind the stall paled.
"Looks like you owe me two bears right?" Chenle spoke smugly with his hands in his pocket.
The man nodded frantically and Chenle glanced at the girl.
"Which ones do you want?"
After she had picked the ones she wanted, the two began to walk out of the fair- her laughing to herself about the shocked faces after Chenle's shots.
"That's was so funny, the man looked like he was gonna piss himself." She giggled.
"Well, I didn't lie because I really never miss."
"I can't argue with that, my aim is so bad."
"I mean you shot those men in the thigh so I think you did pretty well."
"Ugh, don't remind me of that please." She shuddered, unable to see where she was going because of the giant bear covering her view.
Chenle snorted a laugh at her and she glared at him.
"Not my fault I'm short." Seowoo stuck her tongue out at him.
"It's fine you're cute."
