---Tsuki's P.O.V---
I run away. I'm really far now. If I continue, Meliodas will die. If I stay to help him, Elaine will never come back. What would Elaine want me to do? What would Elaine want me to do...I stop in my tracks. I spin around. Elaine would want me to stay and protect my friend. In fact, if I brought her back and Meliodas is dead, she'd be pretty angry. I'll have to find another way then. Tears form in my eyes as I sprint back to where Meliodas was. I can't let him die. I run on all fours, sprinting really fast. I finally reach them and stand up. Ban is standing over Meliodas, about to kill him.
"STOP!" I scream, tears falling. I reach my hand out as Ban swings down. Meliodas jumps up from under him, knocking his head back. Meliodas jumps back, appearing next to me. I almost break down and cry. He could have died just now! He squeezes my hand.
"Come on, don't cry." He laughs. Ban clears the dust away.
"Why would you fight back after an exchange like that?! Especially after telling me to take you out!" Ban yells.
"I never said I'd just roll over and let you kill me. If the tables were turned, would you have done the same thing?" He smiles.
"Huh?" Ban straightens.
"Our friend. Elizabeth. She'd sacrifice herself without giving it a second thought. Knowing that, how can I abandon her? I'm not going to let myself get killed in a place like this." Meliodas answers. I step back. Elizabeth...Where is she?
"So that's how it is." Ban sighs. He turns to me. "Tsukiko. How about you? Are you going to help me?" He asks. I turn away, hiding my tears. I wipe my face and turn back around, facing him.
"No! You're doing the wrong thing, Ban! Elaine wouldn't want this! We can find another way!" I yell at him.
"Have it your way. But don't think I'm going to play nice and call it quits." He gets into a fighting stance. We do the same.
"Ban! Come on! Knock it off!" Hawk yells.
"Shut up. Doing this might be the only shot I ever get at resurrecting Elaine." Ban says.
"Man, you are hopeless!" Hawk runs up to him. "Are you really going to kill Meliodas because some freaky goddess who knows about nothing told you to?" Hawk yells. Ban just stares. "Oh! I get it! Meliodas isn't actually one of your friends, is that it?" Hawk continues.
"The Captain is my best friend in the whole world. But if what the goddess said is true, then I can see Elaine again." He says.

"But what if it isn't?" I say softly and walk over to him. "If it's a lie, you're going to lose your best friend forever." I continue. Ban pauses. "Come on, think about it. Is this really what Elaine would want?" I ask gently.
"Then by all means, tell me what I should do. What would a little kitty that's only good for killing her own family know?" He says. I look down. "After Elaine passed on, I met the Captain and the others. Slowly, it eased the pain. It was always one adventure after another. But eventually, I couldn't escape the truth. No matter what, I'm really on my own. And I'm never gonna see her again, whether in this world or the next. Without her, it's like I'm living in hell. Understand?" He finishes.
"Yeah. Believe it or not, this little, good-for-nothing, useless, worthless, ugly, disappointing, let-down, kitty knows. Before I met Elaine, I was all alone. I killed my entire family. I was lonely. I stumbled across the fairy forest. I met her and my life was way better. We talked, we laughed, we had fun. She treated me like an equal. She didn't care about my issues. You don't understand how refreshing it was to find someone who didn't hate me." I pause, looking at the sky. A tear runs down my face. "But then I had to go. I couldn't stay forever. I promised to come back and see her again. I met you guys, and forgot for a while. I was so overjoyed about finding people who loved me, that I wanted to find out more about these new companions. But then, the time came for us to split up. I went back to the forest to apologize, but the forest was all gone. I looked for her, but I couldn't find her. I didn't let myself think that she died, so I went out in search of her. I never found her. Until that day at the Necropolis. That was when I truly realized, that I was all alone again." I pause again and my tears overflow. "I have King and Diane and Elizabeth, but I still find myself missing Elaine. She wasn't like my family or anyone else. She didn't treat me like I was a porcelain doll that needed to be handled with extra care. And I went and left her all alone. That is my sin." I stop and turn around to face him again. "Believe me, I want to bring Elaine back just as much as you do. But this is not the right way. We'll find another way, I promise." I beg him. He turns away.

"Alright then. But as the Seven Deadly Sins Fox Sin, you need to do your duty. Captain's orders. Let's wait until everything ends, then we can settle things." Meliodas says coldly.
"When the time comes..." Ban trails off.
"Yeah. No matter what, you're still my friend, Ban." Meliodas smiles.
"Yeah, roger that." Ban smiles. Meliodas falls down. Hawk and I run over.
"Meliodas!" I yell.
"Listen, Hawk and Tsuki. I need you to take me where Elizabeth is." Meliodas says and climbs onto Hawk's back. "On the way there, I'm going to get some sleep." He says drowsily and falls asleep. Hawk and I nod at each other. We run to where Elizabeth is. I hope she's okay! We round the corner to find Hendrickson and Dreyfus's armor with ashes scattered around it. Hendrickson has the same markings as Meliodas! He must have done something with demons.I narrow my eyes.
"Well, Meliodas and Tsukiko. Just as I thought. My acid has no effect on the sinister power of demons." Hendrickson says and Meliodas gets up. I look at the scene. My eyes widen. Elizabeth! She's on the ground, and hurt! I need to help her! Meliodas walks forwards and I do too. He sticks his arm out to stop me.
"Stay back." He orders.
"No! I want to fight too!" I argue. Meliodas looks at me with rage in his eyes.
"Shut up and stop arguing with me for once, goddamnit!" He growls at me and I shrink back with Hawk. Meliodas rushes forwards and grabs Elizabeth. He whispers something in her ear and hands her to me. "Tsukiko. Get out and take her with you. Protect her. I know you can." He orders. I shift uncomfortably and put her on Hawk's back. My heart hurts. I don't want to leave him here and I want to protect Elizabeth. I feel like I'm being ripped apart. I look up at Meliodas.
"Just...be careful. Please, don't die. I really really really don't want you to die. Okay?" I shift my feet.
"Okay." He agrees. I give him a light kiss on the cheek.
"Be careful. Focus on staying alive. I'll take care of Elizabeth." I whisper and run with Hawk. We sprint and I see a dark ball chasing us. I move to shield Hawk as it's about to hit but it's interrupted. Diane saves us. I sigh. "Thanks Diane! But we've gotta save Elizabeth!" I say. Elizabeth moves behind us.
"Elizabeth!" Diane calls out. "I'll never forgive you!" She yells at Hendrickson. King uses Chastiefol to knock Hendrickson into the ground and Ban holds onto Meliodas. Diane sets us down. I look at Hawk.
"Listen to me. You need to protect Elizabeth with everything you have. If anything goes wrong, scream my name. I have extra good hearing and I'll come running." I wink and point to my cat ears.
"You got it! No one'll get through me!" Hawk yells and I nod. I jump down with the others to find a ton of Holy Knights fighting with us. Hendrickson starts laughing insanely.
"I'm not sure how you managed to rid the city of all those demons in such a short amount of time, but excellent all the same! However, you can't defeat me." Hendrickson re-attatches the arm Meliodas cut off. Meliodas rushes forwards and cuts it off again. Hendrickson re-attatches it and swings at Meliodas. Meliodas cuts him up, but to no effect. Hendrickson will be tough to beat. I unsheathe my claws. King sends small spears into Hendrickson but again, to no effect. "I'm invincible in this state!" Hendrickson says and Diane has a go.
"Invincible or not, I'll never rest until I can take you down!" Diane says and traps him in between two earth fists. I jump forwards and decapitate him. His head re-attatches itself. Creepy.
"Since you're new, I think that maybe I should fill you in on a little something. It's true that demonic power has the ability to heal wounds, but unless you're immortal, you retain the damage!" Meliodas yells and rushes at him. "How many times have you regenerated yourself?!" Meliodas yells and swipes at him, destroying the earth in his attack. They fight until Hendrickson knocks Ban into the cliff. Hendrickson kicks me into the air and swipes at Gowther. I go flying until I feel something soft. I look up to see King's face.
"You alright?" He asks. I giggle and give him a kiss on the nose, causing him to blush.
"Duh!" I smile and jump back down, landing on all fours.
"Hey Hendi, would you mind telling me where you found that thing?" Ban asks and points to the cliff.
"What's that?" Hendrickson asks.
"Come on, you heard me." Ban smiles. "I SAID I WANNA KNOW WHERE YOU GOT THE DAMN THING, SO SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!!!" He yells and hits him multiple times with the nunchucks. He hits him into the cliff and the rocks clear away. A giant demon corpse is revealed. I almost throw up. It's revolting!
Hendrickson chuckles.
"This creature here, is the source of it all."

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
