Y/N's PoV:
5:54 AM, The Next Morning...
I awoke to the shaking of the Boar Hat.
"We're leaving already? It's so early...."I yawned.
I heard someone knocking at my door, so I got up and opened it.
"Captain?"
"Mornin', Y/N!"He said cheerfully.
I looked at him suspiciously. What could he want at this time of day?
"What's up Captain? Why are you up so early?"I asked.
He walked into my room, and closed the door.
"I wanted to finish our conversation from last night."He answered.
I tensed up.
"What conversation? Were you drinking again? I don't remember having a conversation!"
He sighed and crossed his arms.
"Y/N I'm not stupid. You're from the demon race, aren't you?"He said.
I sat down on my bed, running a hand through my H/C hair. It was a stupid move to use my power in that fight, because Meliodas knows what I am now. I'm such an idiot!
"You probably hate me now, don't you? Everyone does once they find out...."I mumbled.
Meliodas shook his head,"I don't hate you Y/N. You'd have to do something really bad for me to do that!"
I looked him in the eyes. He was smiling.
"Let's go downstairs okay? We're at the forest of White Dreams. Hurry up and get dressed."He smiled, leaving my room.
I got dressed in the tavern's uniform, but I wore my F/C cloak over it. I had fixed it after the battle with Sir Twiggo. Opening my door, I headed downstairs. As soon as I got away from the stairs, I felt someone grab my breasts.
"Hey Y/N! Ready to go?"Meliodas asked from behind me.
"You little pervert!"I shouted, slapping him across the face.
I was a blushing mess
"Worth it~"He sang, holding his cheek.
I huffed and crossed my arms.
"L-Let's just go. Don't even think about trying that again!"I shouted.

He told Elizabeth to get ready, and when she came down we left to go into the forest of White Dreams.
-------------------------------------------------------
We had been in the forest of White Dreams for 3 hours now, and we still haven't found anyone.
"I don't think we're going to find anyone here. It's way to foggy!"I said.
"Sir Meliodas, do you really think we're going to find one of the eight deadly sins here?"Elizabeth asked.
"Probably."
We kept walking, when suddenly-
"-Eek! I can feel something grabbing me from behind!"Elizabeth cried.
I looked at her, and saw Meliodas touching Elizabeth under her skirt.
"Captain! Stop that you creep!"I yelled.
We started to walk again, but then Elizabeth stopped.
"Everything okay Elizabeth?" I asked.
"S-Sure! Yes everything is fine!"She answered.
I shrugged it off and kept walking. She's acting kind of strange....
"Hurry up slowpokes! Pick up the pace!"Hawk yelled.
Meliodas answered,"Hey, hold your bacon! It's not a lot of fun traveling with a nervous piggy!"
I looked at Hawk, or rather, multiple Hawks.
"What the hell?!"I yelled.
"What do ya mean calling me a nervous piggy?! Huh!?"The Hawks yelled.
They all started bickering about who the real one was, running towards us. Meliodas charged through them all, hurting them in the process.
"Hawk!"Elizabeth gasped.
Suddenly, they all got up and jumped towards her, crying.
"This is freaky."I said, looking at Meliodas.
When we turned around, there was a gigantic group of Elizabeths!
"Hi sir Meliodas~"They all sang.
Once again, they each started trying to convince Meliodas that they were the real Elizabeth. He looked like he was enjoying this.
"You can't be serious. Captain are you enjoying this?!"I asked him.
An ominous voice coming from every direction was telling us to leave, and that's when the Elizabeth's started coming towards us crying out Meliodas's name. They all jumped for us but we jumped out of the way, landing on a rock above them.

"Oh my goodness! However can I tell which one of you is the real one?"He said to them.
"That's me!"One said
"You can trust me, I'll do whatever you want!"Another said.
Meliodas smirked."Yes! Starting now I want you all to do exactly what I'm tell you to!"
I rolled my eyes. This guy I swear....He started giving them orders.
'What a surprise, they're all dirty.'I thought.
"Now, squeeze your boobs."He ordered.
They did as they were told.
"Wow, this is amazing~!"He said.
"This is stupid. Why is this so entertaining for you?!"I asked.
He looked at me in surprise.
"Y/N, are you....jealous?"He asked, smirking.
"H-Hell no!"I yelled.
He shrugged and told them to jump as high as they could. They all jumped except for one.
"I'm sorry I can't do that!"She cried.
Meliodas sliced through the Elizabeth copies that were jumping, and they all hopped away.
"They were just Hide 'n seeks?"I said, coming down beside Meliodas.
"After 'em!"
We ran after them, but Meliodas and Elizabeth had stopped for a second. I kept running, but I could have sworn I heard someone say "You took my underwear?!" from behind me. Suddenly, the fog got thicker and it was more difficult to see. I looked around, but the others were no where to be found.
"Captain? Elizabeth?"I shouted.
"Where'd they go? Where am I?"I mumbled.
I have to find them. I continued walking around, trying to find Meliodas and Elizabeth. Hawk too, I guess.
"I totally went the wrong way."I sighed.
"Yes. You did indeed."A voice said from behind.
I whipped around, and saw a man with pink hair on a horse.
"I am Gilthunder. The Holy Knight who imprisoned you in the dungeon long ago. You're going to take me to the other members of the eight deadly sins."He ordered.
"Hell no! I'd never sell out my friends to a Holy Knight!"I shouted.
"Very well."
A huge thunder and lightning storm appeared above the forest. A lightning bolt hit me straight on, creating rope-like bindings of lightning.
"Huh? The hell?"I said
"I've figured out the whereabouts of your friends. If you don't come with me, I'll kill you."He stated.
"Tsk. Fine, when we get there I demand you release me!"I shouted.
He rode towards the center of the forest, and I followed. The second I get released I'll attack. I could see Meliodas's bright hair in the distance.
"Release me!"I shouted at Gilthunder.
"No. I'm taking you and the other sins into custody."He said.
I looked into the distance. We were getting closer. The same kind of lightning that was binding me was about to strike them. I used my power to send enough chains towards them to act like a protective bubble.
"Demon Chain: Shield!"
It made it just in time to protect everyone.
"You...."Gilthunder glared down at me.
My body went numb, and I was unable to keep my Chain Shield up any longer. On top of this, we were right in front of everyone, and my markings from my demon side were showing.
"Y/N?"Meliodas said confused.
More lightning struck, hitting every and binding them all. Gilthunder looked at me and walked towards Meliodas, Elizabeth, and.....Diane?!
"Pathetic."He spat.
"And you are....?"Meliodas asked.
"It would seem we meet at last....you deadly sins."

A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.
