《The Cat's Sin of Sorrow (King X Reader) [Discontinued]》A Festival For The Ages

Diane, Diane, Diane. For the love of the goddesses, how could you just leave this thing here? It's huge! Then again, I suppose that's like asking me how I misplaced a suitcase or something... If I was a normal person, I could see how it would be troublesome.
"Alright!" I spun myself around at the tiny man in a red cape's call. Who the hell wears a red cape for clothing?! "It's time to begin the annual Vaizel Fighting Festival now! The use of weapons is strictly forbidden! Men who let their fists due the talking should sign up right away!" I rolled my eyes, "The winner's gonna get 100 gold coins, but that's not all! You'll also get this giant war hammer!" I let out a deep breath. I didn't expect to find Diane's hammer, let alone have to fight in a festival to get it back.
I hope you appreciate this Diane, wherever you are. Man, I sure do mi-
"Hey! Count us in!" I froze. That voice, Meliodas?
"You can count me out!" King? I looked over to find three of the sins walking towards the sign up ...kind of. Meliodas was dragging King, but Ban seemed adamant to join. What were these three doing here? What were they doing together?
A burly man grabbed and picked up Meliodas, choking King. He was tall with a bald head. His clothes were nothing but trousers and gloves without fingers. I felt annoyance seep into my blood. I know they didn't need my help, but nobody, nobody, touches my friends.
"This ain't a festival for kids! Get out of here!" That's it, let's see how you feel about being beat up by a girl.
"Sorry, I don't see what the problem is," Meliodas replied.
"Hey there friend," Howzer pulled the man's arm down gently, "This is a festival okay? Just relax."
"For such a supposed strong man, you sure seem worried about losing to that so called kid," I stated, walking over and pulling my hood down. Ban grinned at me.
"Long time no see," He greeted. I cast him a smirk as a greeting.
"Who do you-" The burly man tried to retort, "You know my name is Taizoo, right? I've been the winner of this festival for three years in a row."

"And?" He marched off, leaving us to to relax.
"Okay then. Man! My job has gotten in the way every year until now! Yeah! My dream of fighting here has come true at last! So, let's do this you guys," Howzer told us before leaving with a laugh. I shook my head in amusement. He hasn't changed a bit.
"I've seen him somewhere before..." King thought out loud. He hadn't noticed me. I almost sighed before an idea popped into my head.
"Remember me?" I asked jokingly, popping up in front of him. He jumped.
"(Y/N)! When-? Where-?" I smirked.
"Oh, what brings you here (Y/N)?" Meliodas questioned.
"I heard about Diane's Gideon and decided to get it back for her." I looked over the three, "Let me guess, that's why your here too?"
"You bet," Ban broke in. Huh. I wonder if they're with Diane too then. Where is she?
"We'll talk later," Meliodas instructed, "The match is about to start!"

"The Fighting Festival elimination round will now begin! Fighters into the ring!"
"Hup!" Meliodas followed Ban into the ring. I hopped up myself, brushing my hair behind my ear.
"Man, I wish I'd stayed behind with Diane." I frowned at King's comment, feeling my heart drop. Of course he'd rather be with Diane. At least now I know that Diane is with them. I wonder where she's waiting at. I shook my head slightly, swallowing my feelings and deciding to cheer King up.
"Cheer up King! You'll need high spirits if you want to give Diane her Gideon back," I reminded him. He gave me a soft smile. Meliodas, who was all fired up, spoke up.
"Now, let's get ready to take Diane's sacred treasure back."
"First up is the elimination round! The ref will be yours truly, Love Helm! The rules of this round are extremely simple!" He gave a few spins for show, "Knock your opponent out of this ring! Throwing them out is fine! Pushing too! Or send them flying! As long as it's barehanded! The eight contenders who are still standing will move onto the finals! Now then, let the brawling begin!"

A punch here, an elbow there. Honesty, this was pretty boring. In fact, I think Ban just yawned. I looked around for King. Poor guy, I knew he was probably just running around but I couldn't see him through the tangle of bodies. I did however see Taizoo, who I promptly got the attention of.
"Yo, muscles!" He glared at me.
"You little punk." He threw a fist at me and I caught it, using it to push him out of the ring. He looked at me surprised as I elbowed a guy who ran at me out of the ring on top of him without looking.
"Don't mess with my friends, 'kay?" I gave him a fake smile, but my eyes were a death glare. Though, I only did this for a second before going back to Ban and Meliodas.
"Hey Ban, (Y/N). Make sure you pull your punches against these guys."
"Yeah, obviously. This festival wouldn't be much fun if we killed everybody here," Ban's eyes flashed with interest as he finished a guy and ran off.
"Dork," I muttered, looking over at King as he rejoined us.
"Come on, Captain! You're totally having fun here!" King disapproved.
"Yeah, right. Now does it really look like I'm enjoying myself?" Meliodas questioned. King gave an 'Mhm' and a look in return. "Listen to me King. If we win this thing, we get Diane's sacred treasure, Gideon. Don't you wanna see the smile on her face when we do?" While I loved the idea of seeing Diane smile, I knew the Captain's ulterior motive.
"First place is mine!" King announced, changing into his human form. I felt something flutter in my throat as his voice deepen.
"Alright! That's the spirit!" Captain encouraged. I didn't notice however, him come up to me and whisper until he was there. I almost punched him. "Sorry, (Y/N)."
"I have no idea why you're apologizing." At that moment, a girl in a purple cloak knocked out a dozen or so men, gaining our group's attention.
"She's doing pretty good, huh?" Meliodas commented. Ban walked back, adorning a new red outfit.
"It's kinda scary. I bet she's not getting a lot of dates," Ban joked. I gave him a look and he shrugged.
"Hey, where'd you get that jacket?" Meliodas shifted his attention. They truly are all children, aren't they? I smirked.
"Probably off that poor guy from earlier," I muttered, a grin on my face.
"Let's take a look at who's left in the ring!" The announcer stopped us. I glanced around. Seven? Whoops. Wait where is...
"There's one more who hasn't gotten knocked out of the ring!" Some guy called. I looked over and sure enough, there was King, floating on Chastiefol.
"That was close," His voice floated over, soft and embarrassed. Roars about it being unfair shot out, making the the ref step in.
"Well, I get it's unfair, but he's not using any weapons so I'll allow it!" I shrugged, we needed eight anyway. I don't understand the big fuss.
"Oh, aren't you lucky? Played dirty and still won." Ban snickered.
"Yeah, way to cheat!" Meliodas applauded.
"Do you really think it's cheating?" King questioned, floating over.
"Well, you didn't break the rules," I offered, "But I doubt they would have counted it if they weren't short a person." With that, our curtain of an announcer told us to go to the waiting area.
"Now come up and draw your lots! The first round will be contenders who each draw the same letter!"
"Why is he always yelling?" I complained, rubbing my temples. A loud curtain man. Could he be stranger?
"This sucks. I wish they'd just hurry it up and get to the finals already," Ban complained. Clearly he was antsy. I can't say I blamed him.
"Don't talk like that and get knocked out before the end, okay?" Meliodas answered.
"That is not going to happen." I heard a whine from King.
"My stomach. This stress is killing me."
"Don't worry King, you'l be fine," I encouraged. He gave me a smile, making my blood rush. I swallowed, smiling back.
"I will now announce the fight cards!"
