《Not really a slave - Sesshomaru love story》Chapter 15 - Shocking discovery and taken away

Natsu pov:
I fluttered my eyes open as I awoke. I blinked several times trying to get the sleep out of my eyes.
I was curled up in Sesshomaru’s embrace against his chest and his arm was wrapped possessively around me. We were wrapped in his fur and it was warm and comfortable. My hands were on his chest and I could feel the beating of his heart just below my right palm.
I smiled softly as I looked at his face. He was asleep peacefully and his breathing was deep. He hadn’t stopped until his heat rage had subsided and after that he seemed to be exhausted.
I kissed his chest just above his heart and slowly wriggled out of his grasp. I sweatdropped when I saw the remains of my clothes in one corner of the cave we were in. They were completely tattered. I sighed and picked up Sesshomaru’s haori and wrapped it around myself. I picked up my bag in which I had kept 4 pairs of extra clothes and I decided to wash up in a nearby water body.
Surprisingly, I had somewhat gotten used to my new senses as a dog demon. The sounds around weren’t as loud as they seemed before but I could still get a lot of scents around me and it made my nose kinda itchy. But I could get a very strong scent of Sesshomaru’s from where he slept, his clothes and also from me. I slightly blushed at the last thought since Sesshomaru and I had become one.
I shook my head slightly and got off the floor of the cave. I was a little sore, but I could still walk around easily. I sniffed the air and figured that there was a stream close by. I sweatdropped thinking that I had pretty much turned into a dog…..I mean I was sniffing the air! I shook my head with a chuckle and headed in the direction of the stream.
When I got there I looked around and listened intently to make sure no one was there. I took off Sesshomaru’s haori and placed my bag next to it. I stepped into the stream and swam to the middle. I ducked under the water and resurfaces after a few second while moving my hair out of my face. I ran my hands through my hair and relaxed in the water.
I sighed and looked at my reflection in the water. I didn’t really look any different from how I looked before. The only difference was that my senses were really sharp and I had slightly sharp nails….although they weren’t as long or sharp as Sesshomaru’s claws. I also noticed that there was a blue crescent moon on the left side of my neck. I frowned wondering what it was, but then shrugged it off and proceeded to clean myself.
After about 15 minutes, I felt fresh and I got out of the water. I dried myself in a towel and put on some new clothes. I pouted for a second but then stepped back into the stream and caught a few fish. Since my reflexes were a lot faster than before, I was able to catch 3 fish in 5 minutes. I didn’t catch any fish for Sesshomaru since he said he dint eat human food, but I was used to ‘human’ food so I would continue to eat it even now.

I held the fish in my hands and I walked back to the cave. When I reached the cave, Sesshomaru was awake and he was sitting against the wall of the cave. He looked up hearing my footsteps and I smiled as I sat down in front of him. “Good morning! Did you sleep well?” I asked abut he just stared at me. I cleared my throat with a blush, all of last night’s thoughts coming to me and I proceeded to put some sticks together and start a fire. I poked sticks through the fish and put them over the fire to cook.
When I couldn’t take the silence anymore, I gulped and looked up. He was still staring and I sweatdropped. I sighed and crawled around the fire and sat down next to him. I leaned on his shoulder and cuddled to his side as I hummed in happiness. “Say Sesshomaru? What do you usually eat? You always say that you don’t eat human food….so what do you eat?” I asked and I felt him shift. He lifted up his right hand and ran his claws through my hair. I smiled and closed my eyes as he continued to do that.
“A full demon such as myself feed on other demons.” I snapped my eyes open and blinked. I pulled away from him and looked at his face in surprise. “You eat other demons??” I asked still a little shocked to hear it. He nodded and I frowned.
I don’t know why I found it so surprising. He had to eat something to survive, and he ate other demons. What was I expecting? For him to eat grass and berries like an herbivore? I mean, even us humans ate fish and chicken and other meat, so it wasn’t surprising that a demon as strong as him would eat meat too right?
I chuckled to myself and shook my head at my stupidity. I reached out to the fish and took them out from the fire. I leaned against Sesshomaru again and munched on my breakfast. Sesshomaru patiently waited for me to finish and when I was done, we both stood up and I dusted my shorts.
“By the way, Sesshomaru. Whats this?” He turned to face me and I pulled my shirt away slightly to show him the crescent moon on my neck. He walked to me and touched it with his thumb. “It is my mark. It symbolizes you as the lady of the west and my mate. It will keep other male demons away from my possession.” I blushed at the possessive ring his words had. I giggled and kissed him on the nose. “Thank you Sesshomaru.” He just nodded and turned around and walked out the cave again.
“We will head back to Rin Jaken and the half demon.” He said and I sighed as I picked up my bag. “Sesshomaru…..cant you call him Kaito? I know he’s a half demon, but its not that bad that you have to keep referring to him that way….” Sesshomaru turned to me and narrowed his eyes with a growl. I flinched at eh anger his eyes held but I sighed again. “Half breeds are nothing but disgusting creatures. The only reason why he’s alive is because you wished for it.” He growled and I bit the inside of my cheek.

I looked out of the cave at the warm sun that grazed the forest. “Sesshomaru…..a half demon….a half demon like Kaito is a symbol of boundless love. The pure love of two completely different creatures. How can you call a symbol of such pure love disgusting?” I looked back at him but he looked annoyed. I looked at the ground and took a breath. “You know, I actually think half demons are very unique. They have the heart of a human, the kindness and love that they want everyone to feel and at the same time have the strength of a demon to protect what is precious to them. Besides, I’m kinda like him you know? I was originally a human and I was turned into a demon by an elixir after all.”
I smiled at Sesshomaru. He narrowed his eyes slightly and walked out of the cave. “Protect what is precious to them? How foolish.” I clenched my fist slightly. The words he said sent a pang of hurt through my chest. “Foolish? Don’t you have precious things you want to protect?” I asked him and he stopped at the entrance of the cave. He turned back to me and stared.
“Showing emotion is weakness. I have nothing I wish to protect. I am not the fool my father or half breed brother is.” I couldn’t breathe momentarily at the pain his words sent through me. Nothing he wished to protect? Showing emotion is weakness? My eyes stung and I looked at the ground as he turned away again. “We must leave.” He said simply and I let out an amused and pained laughed.
So what was I to him? If he said he didn’t have anything he wanted to protect and he thought showing emotions were weakness…..what was I to him? What was Rin to him? What were his land and his people to him? I bit my lip with an amused smile as tears threatened to escape. I wiped them with my fingers and shook my head. “Natsu. Come here.” I heard him say and I sighed. I took a deep breath composing myself and I walked to him.
I stood in front of him and looked at the ground. I didn’t have the courage to meet his eyes. Its true that I did see warmth in his eyes when he looked at me but….the words he had told me….it just didn’t make sense. And I knew that if I looked at him, I wouldn’t be able to keep my poker face on.
“Hold on to me. I will fly us to where Rin is.” He said and I closed my eyes for a minute. I took a breath and looked up at him. I controlled myself with every bit of energy I had and I stood on my toes, hugging him around the neck. I felt his arm wrap around my middle bringing me against him and I rested my chin on his shoulder. I let my head rest against his and I played with his hair with one hand. I felt us lift off the ground and the wind brush through my hair. I looked around and saw that we were several feet above the ground and I tightened my hold on Sesshomaru.
The whole time I didn’t talk. I felt hurt by Sesshomaru’s words. But now I was his possession in both soul and body and I didn’t know how to get home. I couldn’t leave him and despite his painful words, I loved him too much to let go. I closed my eyes and sighed as I buried my face in his hair. A few minutes passed and I felt my feet touch solid ground.
I pulled away from Sesshomaru and I turned around with a smile hearing Rin and Kaito call me. “Ne chan!” I got on my knees as they threw themselves at me. I laughed and hugged them back. “Rin! Kaito! Its so good to see you!” I felt better after seeing them and I pulled away and smiled at them. I blinked and smiled more. “Kaito! You’ve become taller! And stronger!” Kaito blushed and scratched his cheek.
I patted his head and reached for my bag. “I packed some things for the both of you. Here.” I held out 2 pack sof 24 color crayons for Rin and Kaito and a drawing book each. I had even got some candy so I gave both of them a lollipop and the squealed in happiness. I chuckled as they ran away and began to draw. I stood up and turned to face Sesshomaru. My smile faded and I set out a breath. I gave him a tiny smile and walked to Ah-Un.
“Jaken. Follow me.” Sesshomaru said and he began to walk away. “Natsu, stay here and watch Rin.” He said and he disappeared through the foliage.
I sighed and sat down leaning onto Ah Un. I let out a breath as my eyes stung again. He seemed angry and he hadn’t even mentioned Kaito when he told me to look after Rin while he was gone. And because of that, I couldn’t think straight. My mind was all messed up in mush and I sighed as I closed my eyes and leaned back on Ah Un.
“It seems the great lord of the west has left you with quite a negative impression.” I snapped my eyes open and looked at Naraku who was standing in front of me. I narrowed my eyes and got into a fighting stance. “And I see he has turned you into a full demon. I always knew you were his weakness.” He smirked and I let out a laugh. “Weakness?” My smile faded to a look of pain and I sneered. “More like desired possession now.”
Naraku laughed and the kids got behind me. “I’ll be taking you now.” He said and I growled. “You wish!” I ran forward to attack him but I was blocked by the demon slayer kid. I jumped back but before I could do anything else, I felt a sting in my arm. I yelped and looked to the side seeing some oversized wasps flying around me. I looked at my arm and my eyes went wide as the red stings seemed to get seeped into my body.
I felt dizzy and I looked back at Naraku as I began to see multiple images of him. “You monster!” I gasped and the last thing I heard before I fell into darkness was his malicious laughter.

Series – Dice rolls, quests, and intriguing characters are only the tip of the spear. The Adventurer series includes playable game mechanics, maps, and more! Thrust into a world governed by tabletop RPG rules, Cire must survive an onslaught of wondrous and horrific challenges. His peculiar race, charismatic personality, and talent for turning negative situations sideways might just be the tools he needs to achieve his goals, or they may lead to his ruin. Adventurer Book II - Dawn of an Empire Short story prequel- The Lurking Lair: An Adventuer Series Short Story Summary for the LitRPG savvy reader: Looking for a LitRPG that is more tabletop traditional role playing game and less MMORPG? This is probably your cup of tea. Long term progression with a heavy slice of life element. Strong mix and inclusion of ancient Greek life, values, and myths. Hence, the world can be a bit more harsh and brutish than modern sensibilities. The system is tangible and knowable beyond the MC's insights. The MC is more of an everyman than someone specifically chosen for the experience. Author's Note: This is my debut novel. Up until this point, the only thing I have written of comparable length has been non-fiction and related to history. I am immensely grateful to all the folks who have given me feedback and helped me improve my writing.

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.

Dark Matter
In the year 2023, scientists investigating the nature of dark matter caused a blackout throughout the entire world of Coranth. With this blackout came the appearance of supernatural and near-magical elemental abilities able to be wielded by all. By harnessing the dark matter in the environment, even ordinary humans now accessed powers that would have been deemed fantasy. These abilities include Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, and Terra, being the five natural elements of which dark matter is absorbed by the planet itself. Additionally, the two moons orbiting Coranth offer the "Superior" elements of Dark and Light. The year is now 2041, and Dark Matter will follow the story of an adolescent boy named Raiden Sullivan in a dystopian future, 16 years old, eldest of 2, and son to Marcus Sullivan. Raiden is an intelligent young man belonging to a poor family with an absentee mother. He partakes in daily chores to cover living expenses after school and his home life is surrounded by his caring father and younger sister. In truth, this is my take on urban fantasy with slight LitRPG that keeps the "magic" elements somewhat scientific for a more realistic story. In using the dark matter surrounding our universe, humans can now harness elemental abilities as well as absorb dark matter from the beasts/monsters to further strengthen their abilities. For the most part, that'll be the main premise of the power system. Full transparency, this will be the first story I write and also the first story I publish, so please be patient with me. For some context, I'm an avid reader and after 4 or so years of only consuming, I feel that it might be time to try my hand at writing instead. Please feel free to add your opinions and criticism, it would be much appreciated. With that said, I hope you enjoy Dark Matter!
